The duplicate issue you are describing, where a different reference lets one slip through, can be reduced by switching to Review mode, using Data Health or setting supplier rules for suppliers where reference formats are inconsistent. It is worth flagging to your account manager directly as they can look at how your supplier rules are configured to catch more of those variations. In the meantime, Supplier Statement Extraction is worth exploring if you are not already using it, as it reads supplier statements line by line and matches each row against existing bills in Dext, which adds a useful safety net for catching anything that has come through twice.
