**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

I use TalentScore for technical interviews. It's really easy to navigate through tests results, there is a good amount of predefined coding assignments and the feedback from the candidates have always been very positive.
I'd definitely recommend DevSkiller TalentScore to any company that needs a reliable and feature rich tool for technical interviews.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

We've been using DevSkiller TalentScore for technical tests we send out to our candidates during selection processes for different roles in our company. It proved to be a reliable, efficient and practical tool for the technical assessment of candidates. It takes care of that part of the process flawlessly adding to a great candidate experience which is essential not just for the recruiting cycle but for the overall employer brand. We are using this platform to assess hundreds of candidates in a great number of different technologies. Devskiller makes this process easy with an extensive collection of premade tasks and a huge variety of languages and tools. All of this coupled with a great support team that handles any issues swiftly makes an amazing overall experience for anyone trying to organize technical assessments.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Currently, Devskiller is one of the best platforms on the market for what it does, and there aren't many things that are missing. We could use a few quality of life features, such as dark mode and better test descriptions, but I have no doubt these are coming in the future.

The platform is straight forward and the possibilities are endless, try it out.

Devskiller is an excellent tool that helps me in the recruiter area to test the candidates and to find the best profile. We consider as a powerful tool because we can create tests very easily and with a diferent level of dificulty, currently we use it with .net, angular and RoR tests and we had very good results.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

The tool is excelente and the service too, since i from mexico there is an oportunity with the diferent time zones. Regarding the tool could be helpful if we can add services (Test) directly in the tool.

This is the correct tool, I think that helps a lot, and you can obtain the right candidate with the proper test.

Before using Devskiller, our tech leads or architects spent too much time in the interview. Also was difficult to find a slot in their calendar, now they only spent 10 minutes proofing the information of the test and helped us a lot with the flow.

Great flexibilities building the tests based on the roles we have and making sure it fits with the stack we use. Candidate overview, results, and stats helped us to compare how they did and saved us time to make decisions.
The support team has been really helpful to take new feature requests and reply to all questions we had.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Some of the already created exercises are too easy or gives too much time for the candidates. A good amount of time needs to be spent to fine-tune everything for the first time, but once the tests have been tested and are ready, all goes smoothly.

DevSkills helped us create strong programming tests to fairly test and compare hiring candidates that would fit our needs. We also used DevSkills to assess our development team, understand current skills and use results to provide training and resource to help the team to grow.

The predefined tests help a lot especially when you are just forming a team by having easy, quick to set up and good tests for our applicants.

They do not have a control panel to manage the subscriptions and addons ourselves.

Recruitment is hard and takes a lot of time. By having DevSkiller, the time in creating, validating and managing tests for applicants especially the coding part can be used for other things. DevSkiller has predefined tests that have good quality and customizability.

How many tests we can send and how quickly the results were sent to our email. Also able to choose how many days people have to complete the test is very helpful. Also, I really like how many tests can be available to choose.

I don't have many things I dislike. Maybe sometimes when the tests didn't work and people don't know if it is finished or not and they were not sure if the answers were saved - for example in situation when they see "Oops! There is a problem... Your test is already finished and you no longer can modify your answers"

We have some problems with some people logging in, but this problem was solved really quickly. It is very helpful when people who can help you in many situations are available every time.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

We needed a way to turn our bespoke and manual assessment process into something that could easily scale as we grow. DevSkiller allowed us to automate most of the programming exercise evaluation, allowing us to minimize expensive engineering time spent reviewing candidates. The ability to migrate our existing exercise onto the platform allowed us to keep our benchmarking data and assured us that we were continuing to evaluate candidates fairly. 

Their catalog of pre-written exercises, questions, and activities also allowed us to find and qualify talent outside of our typical tech stack. When we first signed on with DevSkiller, we were in the middle of a search for contractors. Within minutes of gaining access to the platform, I was able to send customized exercises to candidates.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Ultimately their documentation is lacking in some areas, and in my opinion, organized poorly. I'd like to see the content arranged and organized like more typical technical documentation rather than blog-post style. However, our DevSkiller rep Nicholas has been super helpful and responsive to all of my questions.

**What problems is SkillPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our existing process, although effective, was time-consuming and didn't offer the best candidate experience. Furthermore, for each candidate, we had to dedicate as much as one hour of an engineer's time to review every submission regardless of its quality. Devskiller allowed us to automate much of the process and provide an overall better experience for the candidate, which allowed our engineering team to focus their time on high-quality candidates.

Devskiller gives us an automated way to administer technical tests to the many applicants that engage with us; providing a simple and non-threatening interface for candidates to think in, as well as a suite of automated evaluation tools to grade the test results.  It is a great first step to get the technical conversation started.

This isn't a cheap service, but its well worth the investment to give a great candidate experience and reduce the load that technical evaluations place on delivery teams.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

The existing templates and question bank. The ability to create programming tasks using Github. The generated evaluation report is very nice. Overall this is a great tool that helps us a lot.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

The execution of the verification tests is very clunky. The system is a bit opinionated about the name of the verification test folder despite the grep pattern configured in the setup. Modifying programming tests is also a bit clunky as you have to use the UI tool. Ideally, I could just link a GitHub repository to the task via an access token or authorized DevSkiller user. This would greatly streamline the process.

**Recommendations to others considering SkillPanel:**

I recommend the product for skills evaluation for both existing and new employees. It's a great tool that can be used in many ways to improve training and evaluate potential new hires.

DevSkiller comes with a comprehensive library of pre-made tests, but also allows one to design custom tests. The Python testing framework is modern, flexible, and easy to use.

Custom code tests have to be uploaded as zip files. Integration with GitHub or similar code-hosting services would make deploying and updating tests much easier.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

The Platform gives me opportunity to create my own tests using predefined tasks. For me, this option is extremely useful, because I can rough out questions and tasks related to knowledge in different areas in order to comprehensively check the knowledge of the candidates.
I like that the questions and tasks have different levels of difficulty, which allows me to combine them so as to assess how in-depth the expertise of each candidate is.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

There's nothing I don't like.
For the future regarding the DevOps expertise, I would appreciate if you include questions and tasks related to OpenShift platform, CI / CD Pipelines and GitLab CI.
In terms of Test Automation, more testing tasks with C # and Selenium , as well as tasks related to testing mobile applications, would be very useful.

**What problems is SkillPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using the platform for almost a year effectively to pre-assess the technical knowledge of candidates for the position of Test Automation Engineer and DevOps Engineer.
Тhe option to preview recorded session with work of each candidate is very useful. I also appreciate the fact that the platform offers the opportunity for feedback, which can be both short and detailed. It is also useful that I have historical information for each candidate, as well as a summary assessment of candidates who have taken more than one test.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

I really like the library of questions available on devskiller, with a large range of technologies covered. Generally we testing people's level with React, and the questions, especially the project questions, give us a really good insight into how well people understand the concepts. However, recently we branched out into testing some other frameworks, and it was really nice to be able to very quickly find some equally insightful questions on these.

I also really like the custom question creation, especially with the projects, which gives you a lot of flexibility to ask whatever you want of candidates and customise completely how you present a question to a candidate.

Generally devskiller has been very very useful for us as a way of benchmarking our developers both to help place them into jobs, and also to identify their weaknesses and support them better - it has become a critical part of our programming!

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Not much really! Sometimes some of the multiple choice questions are a little harsh in their marking, but that's not really a big deal. One feature which would be nice is being able to see a breakdown of past tests of candidates on the website, without having to download the PDF's - not a big deal, but just would make my personal workflow a bit smoother. Generally, something I really like about DevSkiller is the communication and feedback gathering by the DevSkiller team, who are always eager and happy to hear our feedback, which is super nice and makes the whole experience of working with them very pleasurable. Strong recommend!

**What problems is SkillPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run a coding bootcamp, where we focus on self led and peer learning, as well as on technical skills, and we needed a more formalized way of assessing the levels of our students, in order to be able to better support them going forward - identifying weaknesses so we could address them.

DevSkiller has really help with this, helping us identify weak points in our curriculum. Additionally, we have a placement arm of our organisation, and DevSkiller has also helped us understand peoples technical level and feel more confident when putting them forward for a job.

To be able to customize the tasks and be able to watch the candidate do a live coding task. You can see how  if it's a legit candidate or now by simply watching the  recorded session. It gives you a good overview of the candidates skill. I have has an 85% success rate in terms of hiring candidates that passed the assessment by 75%.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

1) I would like to see the IP location in the report that is sent out. 
2) The fact that there are not many telecom related assessments. Being in the telecom industry, a lot of our candidates come from networking, routing, switching background. I would like to see some of these assessment capabilities within DevKiller.

**What problems is SkillPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to do the technical evaluation of the skills. It's helped significantly to cut down on the overall recruiting time per candidate.

It will be useful if we can purchase individual test credits for when we need to assess a low volume of candidates.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

Our technical team used to burn a lot of hours writing one off, custom tests for programming job interviews.  Devskiller provides an excellent library of coding tests that we can leverage across our applicant base and has given us a head start on the initial rounds of interviews.  Our technical team still likes to add their own custom tests but we have a great foundation to build on top of rather than starting from scratch each time.

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Initially, Devskiller felt expensive for a young start-up such as ours but in the end, you get what you pay for and we are very happy with our investment in Devskiller.  This could be a personal preference but I think that user interface could be a bit more intuitive.

We were wasting a lot of our technical's team's valuable time on writing technical tests to vet incoming programming candidates.  Our technical process was quite time consuming and ad hoc and we wanted to streamline and standardize our technical recruiting process and documentation.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

Since we use Devskiller for our technical screening our candidate dropout rate decreased around 40%. It is an incredible result and a huge advantage for us, this way we can progress to the interview stage which a significantly larger number of candidates. The platform also saves a lot of engineering time because there are automated tests that check the solutions. Not to mention the automatic reminders sent to candidates about expiring deadlines -it saves a looot of time and struggles for the recruiters :)

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

When you want to make new tests, it is a bit more complicated than using a predefined test by the Devskiller team. You might not be able to set it up in a way it is fully corrected automatically. However, it still saves a lot of time and effort even if a technical person still has to review some parts of the submitted code.

More candidates pass the screening as they are pressured by the deadline and the reminders. 
Both engineering and recruitment time is saved thanks to automation.

I really love that it's possible to make the test for candidates and ask them to solve real business cases, challenges that they will have while working on a specific position,

We don't use it too often as we don't hire new developers so often. As we used it everything worked great and both we, as the employer, and our candidates were really satisfied with this solution.

DevSkiller has very diverse types of tests, that includes unit testing, code quality, query optimization and debugging. All these are real life skills required by developers not just problem solving skills compared to other publicly available tools. Other tools focus only on the contest-like type of questions that tests algorithms skills only.

Library is large but it need to be always up-to-date with latest technical stacks, however, DevSkiller gives users ability to write custom tests, so it's kind of a work-around.

The ways you can customize your tests are almost endless. You can create a screening test with questions ranging from, simple questionares, fill the gaps, coding etc!
If you don't like the coding tests library (which is pretty extensive) You can even upload your own coding tests, which is great if you want to test a specific type of skills or want to see how the candidate would perform trying to tackle you own code.

I am the head of engeneering on a startup company, and we only recruit from time to time. As such the pricing plan is too expensive for us. But in the future, if we scale i will totaly use devskiller.

Its very dificult to assess a candidates coding skills.. you can always try and ask some technical questions, or present some simple tests for the candidate to solve, but none of that is conclusive. Maybe the candidate is too nervous? Maybe its a bad day, or the test focus an area where he is not proficient...
Enter Devskiller, after knowing the candidate and the set of skills he show in the CV, you can cook a test specific for him and send it to him. You then get a enormous amount of metrics about the candidate test, you can review the actual code, etc. You can even do pair programming with candidate if you feel the need.

Unlike their main competitors, which were extremely expensive and did not even consider helping out a fellow startup, Devskiller customer support was with us from day 1. 

As a matter of fact, most of the other companies did not even bother offering a trial period!

Honestly, Devskiller helped us hire our Senior Backend Engineer and also filter out many Frontend Developers. This is invaluable since hiring the wrong person in an early-stage startup can have the most catastrophic effects. The MVP will be buggy, the team frustrated, and the whole recruitment process will have to start all over for the specific position.

I would like to commend their service culture, which is one of the best I have ever seen. We were offered a trial, with 14 candidates to test and no strings attached. On top of that, they have a reliable product that is intuitive and has many robust, pre-defined tests with various difficulty levels.

Therefore, I highly recommend Devskiller to all entrepreneurs out there.

Since i am not a software engineer.  Having a business idea that i wanted to implement and needed to recruit developers for different platforms (Android, IOS, web services), i simply couldn't rely on any means besides having the candidates tested.

Devskiller was suggested by my agency to use as a proficiency test during the employment process for our first in-house developer. Knowing nothing about the coding, I was able to use Devskiller to benchmark each of the candidates against relevant technologies.

Rob, one of their team, was on hand to help and provide consultation throughout our process. He was friendly, open and informed. I cannot recommend them enough!

Dev Skiller is a great tool to test a number of candidates and sift through those worth exploring more with the required skills. Whether you have coding experience or not, you can put together tests to evaluate the languages, frameworks and libraries you are using. The test reports are simple to understand and well put together making evaluation incredibly easy.

Their system is intuitive and easy to use with excellent tutorial videos and outstanding customer support (one of the best I have ever come across that is genuinely invested in helping you find the best candidate.

Can't recommend the system enough. 

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Nothing to dislike, maybe a nice to have would be a way to compare multiple test scores side by side. Their system may have this and I just didn't see it but it's no big deal to just have the reports open in different tabs.

If you are looking for a system to easily evaluate multiple candidates and give a baseline against each other, this is the tool to use. Simple to use, great features, easy to set up and outstanding support.

For many years we created our own tests for candidates and marked them manually ourselves. Candidate interviews generally took up 10 to 20 hours of senior resource just in technical competency reviews. The option to upload to a git repository, automatically run unit tests and summarize results is by far the best feature of the software. Senior resource is spending an hour or two reviewing test results now. Other good features: solid library of built in tests, easy to search, easy to mix and match questions, easy to create your own questions.

The lack of some tests in the first paid tier seems arbitrary, iOs is the one we missed most in our case.

Good product which is easy to setup and easy to use.

I have used other similar solutions like Codility, Qualified.io, and also trialed HackerRank. DevSkiller offers the best mix of powerful features for the price. 
Their customer support is always very responsive and knowledgeable and willing to work with you to tailor the product to your specific needs.
I also really like that they also include code review and bug fix type tasks.

The user interface is a little complicated and could probably be made more intuitive.

**What do you like best about SkillPanel?**

Out of the box, we're supplied with relevant questions and programming solutions we can customize a test with. It didn't take long at all for us to get a list of questions the team liked together in a test, and start testing candidates in our funnel.

There's a large pool of format of questions- we don't need to format the coding questions into weird multiple choice questions where you select the correct code as other platforms have you do. Along the same vein, we can have the candidate complete coding projects that are similar to work our developers do each day: find and fix the existing bug(s), implement a new feature, or perform a code review (similar to Bitbucket or Github pull request code reviews).

We ended up writing a few of our own questions, which wasn't difficult, that allowed us to test candidates how they'd perform against some of our own code. The code reviews especially have been great at determining the candidate's skill level based on the feedback they give.

Being able to have the candidate download/upload code from Devskiller so they can modify it in their own IDE, or allowing them to grab the code from a temporary Github repository is a big plus. 

**What do you dislike about SkillPanel?**

Some bugs had come up, such as not being able to turn on/off an option in a test question. These were resolved quickly in a few hours after sending an email to the support email.

The test isn't fully automated for some types of questions (as you would expect for code reviews), but there's also not a way to give automatic partial credit on multiple-choice questions. This requires us to go through the test questions individually to give partial credit (4 / 5 correct doesn't seem like a 0% to us), but the time isn't significant. 

Brackets seem to break the SQL questions, which is odd and hangs some candidates up.

We've cut down the amount of in-person interviews we need to hold by 65+% by being able to realize what the level of experience the candidate demonstrates within code very similar to our own. When we do bring in a candidate, we have a good baseline idea of where their skillset it at, and can tailor the in-person interview to allow us to determine the candidate's rate-of-growth and dive deeper into what they know.
