As the Head of Engineering at PayU, my team and I have seen great benefits from using DevDynamics. It has provided a structured view of our operations, allowing me to easily track and monitor the progress of various teams. It shows me exactly where I need to focus my attention. It is now easier to identify these critical areas which is super helpful since I'm managing around 6 to 7 products.

We leverage DevDynamics' reports and dashboards in our biweekly meetings with managers and Engineering leads. This has positively impacted decision-making and operational clarity at the managerial level.

The regular email updates to our Engineering Managers are instrumental in keeping the team aligned and focused towards our goals. Regular insights on maintaining basic hygiene around open PRs, bugs, bottlenecks, streamlines the review process, and also provides a platform for recognizing contributions, enhancing both motivation and productivity.

Currently, we're using limited features of the product's capabilities effectively. There are plans to discuss with the team for more custom reports and further engagement with the product.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

While I don't have any major complaints about DevDynamics, there is one area where I believe it could be enhanced is the UI, since their are several graphs and data points, a little more colorful appeal will make it more comprehensive.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DevDynamics is helping us efficiently manage team, making it easier to track our work, identify bottlenecks, and keep everything organized. This has really improved our team's productivity. **Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2023

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

We started working with engineering metrics for the first time so the team had a lot of questions. The DevDynamics team was very helpful with everything from how to set up our Jira/Gitlab and which metrics would be more helpful for our company. They helped us make the process more actionable so that our teams could start improving. We were running pilots with 2 different vendors and the difference in the engagement was quite clear.

We are now starting to go beyond just metrics and also look at where our teams are focused and how we can change this to help meet more business goals.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

The setup ran into some problems, mainly because of how our tool permissions were configured but the DevDynamics team got on a call to walk us through the process.

We started a program to connect engineering performance to business goals, and improve KPIs for the different teams.

  ### 14. Good tool for visibility on my engineering team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashank H. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

I am a senior software engineer and I have to manage a few interns and new developers in the team, at times it used to get diffivcult to know what they are doing because some of them are remote. And given that I also have to spend time doing my own work it was difficult to follow up qith them because I had my own tasks also but I was able to see what my juniors are doing on the devdynamics dashboard.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

The team collaboration view gave me visibility on my team.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility on the quality and work of my direct reportees

Flexibility to customize, great customer support. The team puts strong effort to understand your requirements and make tailor adjustments to the software to best fit your needs.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

Nothing spcific to dislike. Every software has areas of improvement. I think if they will make it easy to consume a lot of reports at one place, that will be a big win

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To monitor's team's peformance. And identify strengths and weaknesses of your team

  ### 16. High level view of entire engineering organization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishal R. | VP and Head of Engineering, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

I’m able to see how much time at the team and org level is being spent on new features, maintenance, QA etc. We’ve used this to make decisions about automation for repetitive low value work so that our devs can spend more time on new feature development. The ability to look at how different teams are doing on metrics or practices has also led to better conversations with the team leaders about what can be improved. This has led to an overall improvement in the metrics that we are using for understanding engineering performance.

The team also spent some time with us to set up our CI/CD metrics since we really wanted to track deployment data for different teams. Also, the initial integration was quick and the support provided by DevDynamics team was great.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

I want to see more high level reports that can be shared with other stakeholders across different functions in the org.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a CTO, it has given me much better visibility into the engineering organization and how to get heuristics inputs directly from this tool rather than discussing it with every engineering manager on those inputs. It helps me identify the teams that need more input and feedback to become better in terms of their various aspects like delivery timelines, velocity, and general sprint processes

  ### 17. Transforming Engineering Practices:Impact on Team Efficiency and Code Quality

Metrics evaluation and Implementing best practices

**Official Response from Saumya Anand:**

> Thank you for your valuable feedback, Harsh. As requested, we have added a CSV download option to the Team page.

  ### 20. Good Tool for Visibility and Feedback sharing within the organisation.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

We used this tool mainly to encourage feedback sharing and collect feedbacks bringing in Visibility for the folks.
Eventhough we used only limited feature of devdynamics which itself was a good experience, definitely the full features usage will be beneficial for any company.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

Nothing much as we usede limited functionalities.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the number of people in org growing very high, its difficult to find the data / feedbacks / Visibility in one consolidated place and easy way to filter / view / share the data / results. Devdnamics is making this part very easy with their friendly UI.

  ### 21. Good visibility into distributed remote teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashvin S. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2023

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

With DevDynamics, it's easy to understand activities in Github. I find the DORA metric view and PR analysis useful. This helps us understand how we are doing as a team.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

Certain configurations, such as merging contributors and setting up teams can be made easier. Although the DevDynamics team provided assistance, I believe the product should have the capability to handle these activities in bulk more efficiently.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a fully remote team, it used to be challenging to help the team with the issues related to the PR cycle. DevDynamics offers valuable insight into where our team is investing their time and helps identify development bottlenecks.

  ### 22. Great product for DORA metrics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun B. | Director - Investment Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2023

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

I have been involved in engineering metrics and was using another tool before this. DevDynamics is more comprehensive because I get the popular metrics like DORA but also get access to other features like activity log and goals to drive improvement in my teams.
The data from DevDynamics has helped me have better conversations with non-technical leaders from my org. It’s helped others understand how engineering time is spent and the tradeoffs needed to assign more devs to important projects.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

Not much. I had some feedback about some features and they shipped those pretty fast.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started using it for tracking engineering metrics and am using the reports for my monthly conversations with the leadership team.

  ### 23. Hassle free setup, Slack alerts, powerful metrics

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

We connected DevDynamics with our Jira and Github and started receiving insights very soon. We get alerts in our team Slack channel which tell us about any misses on best practices like PRs merged without review etc. We’ve seen our review rate increase since we’ve started measuring and discussing the relevant metrics in the team.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

The number of metrics can be overwhelming at first. I think it would be good to get a smaller selection based on the team.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our goal was to get visibility into our team and how we can improve our engineering process to match with the best teams out there.

  ### 24. Great tool for getting feedback from team members

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about DevDynamics?**

We used it for getting feedback for our team members and it worked like a charm. Integration was seamless . We could set custom feedback fields , setup a hireachy for managers to view feedback.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

The slack bot was sometimes slow. And when the review cycle was closed we did not get any error when we request feedback

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For gathering review from other . And it works seamlessly

  ### 25. Visibility into engineering activities

I lead a distributed engineering team and DevDynamics gives me visibility into the work without doing too many status update meetings. The insights have been useful to figure out where we may need to improve our focus. We recently switched from Github and Jira to Azure Devops and the transition was smooth for us. We were able to get the same level of metrics and analytics as before.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

I get weekly reports but I would like to configure it to suit my needs.

DevDynamics help me understand what developers are working on, which development process taking more time, and who is getting burned out. I especially like their working agreement module, it helped us in improving our PR cycle time and process hygiene.

**What do you dislike about DevDynamics?**

Help docs are missing. Though the DevDynamics team is very responsive without help doc sometime it's difficult to configure the product as per our needs.

**What problems is DevDynamics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us in improving efficiency and deliver faster.
