**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

the possibility of analyzing each variable separately and, together with the others.
The generation of graphs directed to certain parameters is also very interesting.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The operational procedures for preparing and generating the workflow is somewhat confusing. I usually spend a little time trying to understand what is being done.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

The software is very good and worth testing and using. He really delivers what he promises.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working with a medical tourism data analysis. Identifying parameters and making inferences. So far, the work has gone well.

  ### 3. Exciting, Efficient and Easy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The interface and the ease of use are definitely the strong points as well as the time that is saved from the process of dataprep.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I can honestly say that there is nothing that I dislike, perhaps something that I have noted the change in interface on the flows tab is not as great as it was.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data manipulation and output are the main problems that Trifacta solve. Saving countless hours on making the data usable for our database.

  ### 4. Awesome tool for prepping data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I love Trifacta's UI because it saves a lot of time prepping the data.
For instance, by seeing data quality along with the data itself, I can figure out and decide the actions immediately instead of visualizing and checking it.
The AI-supported suggestion comes in handy when prepping data because just by dragging or selecting within the UI, Trifacta provides some suggestions on what I might want to do. The suggestion and preview make Trifacta more powerful because I don't have to search for functions I want to use.
Last but not least, Trifacta uses distributed computing, and hence, I don't have to rewrite the tiny snippets into Spark which is very time-consuming and error-prone.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Data prepping always run on a distributed computing environment which becomes an overkill when I want to prep only a few KB or MB of data.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Trifacta is very intuitive and easy to use!
I would first give Google Dataprep a try on Google Cloud as it's easy to set up and try out.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Trifacta for most of my exploratory data analysis and data cleansing. It is more intuitive, fast, and scalable compared to other tools that I know.

  ### 5. Great Tool for Pattern Analysis and Machine Learning training and testing sets preparation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Real time preview and recipe suggestions and ability to provide useful suggestions. The best feature is the user interface that makes it very easy to understand the raw and deduce useful insights.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Identification of delimiters for very unstructured data

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Its a great tool to work with in terms of data wrangling and getting live previews of the data that helps to give better insights on the data

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pattern Analysis on Public Traffic Accident Records Unique identification numbers to identify the anomalies and clean and prepare the data for analysis.
Also, using raw e-commerce data which includes customer buying activities and preparing training and testing set for machine learning to build a predictive model using AutoML

  ### 6. TRIFACTA - Data prep made convenient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasu . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The user interface is very convenient and it is easy to use. As compared to python or other programming languages, you don't have to write long codes to prep the data for analysis. Also, the review feature, which allows you to see the changes you are about to do beforehand is very helpful. In the whole data analysis process, prepping the data is the most tedious and time-consuming part but with Trifacta it has become more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I was using the student version and there was a limit of 1gb on the processing the data. This was a bit frustrating because while I wanted to use the software for big data projects and everything, the limit set hindered my use.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

If you want to optimise your time and interact with raw data in a way you could never think of in python, Trifacta is for you!!

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Trifacta for multiple projects, it is a great data prep tool. Easy, convenient and efficient.

  ### 7. Data transformation for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Dataprep is an excellent tool to take your dataset structure or unstructured to clean, enrich, transform before you publish. The Dataprep tool is easy to use with its simplicity , that is how a UI should be simple for the user packing a lot of punch behind the scene. I have used Dateprep in the Google Cloud Platform, and it integrates with other Google Cloud Platform services in an easy step by step fashion.

On the Google Cloud Platform Dataprep is setup as service on a serverless environment, to get started there is no hardware or software installation required, you just enable the service to start.

I have done a few transformations and I wrote up an article about one specific project I worked on with Dataprep, you can find the article on my blog at this address https://torbjornzetterlund.com/maritime-noon-report-with-google-cloud-dataprep/

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Knowing your datasets are important, so when you import your dataset into Dataprep you do not need to wrangle them a lot. I have used an early version of Dataprep on the Google Cloud Platform, you could only get data from BigQuery, Cloud Storage or a direct .csv/.json file import. Limited data connectors, I understand that this is changing in the new version of Dataprep.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

A great tool for your Data practise arsenal

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think that is best explained in this article - https://torbjornzetterlund.com/maritime-noon-report-with-google-cloud-dataprep/

  ### 8. A well apportioned data wrangling suite

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louie B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

A good interface, lots of features, and fairly easy to use web app. As a beginner user, it was not so difficult to get a handle on the software suite and figure out how to do some comparatively elementary wrangling and sorting of my data to get it into a more workable state, and so in that sense it was quite valuable. However, I realized that it was too much software for the relatively limited use case that I had, and unfortunately due to the coronavirus our business plan was changed and that obviated the need to continue with data analysis at that level for the time being.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

An overly aggressive sales model, and a seeming lack of communication by internal sales teams resulting in receiving emails from 3 to 4 different inside sales reps simultaneously rather than a single point of contact. Admittedly, I think that their model isn't necessarily bad and for a more advanced user it would be trivial to initiate contact and begin a detailed discussion of comparative needs and pricing models to find out whether Trifacta fit their organizations needs or not. All of my contact with the Trifacta team was quite professional and positive, but as a beginning user trying to figure out what my needs were, it felt a bit overwhelming.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Understand your data and what you need done with it before jumping in.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wrangling large divergent data sets for import export data, Trifacta actually helped normalize some of that data and put it together in a time saving way. I also became aware of some of the limitations in other software solutions for data wrangling. I think that Trifacta has the right insights as to how and why people need to wrangle their data, and have proposed some creative ways of dealing with that in a web platform that is fairly easy to integrate to existing work flows.

  ### 9. Trifact is the best tool for Data transformation when using different Marketing Data Sources.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It is user friendly, requires mostly knowledge of logic, of how to transform and normalize data.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The job runs cannot be as customized as one might need. It only allows Append, or create a new Table, it doesn't offer the option to upsert data. That would be a great improvement.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Use Trifacta for ETL solutions, it is complete and easy to use when it comes to data transformation and normalization

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently I transform and normalize data from different platforms like Facebook, DV360 and Google Analytics. After normalizing data, I cross them in order to have one datalake with all my marketing campaigns results in one place.

  ### 10. I enjoy trifacta because of its ease of use to transform data in almost anyway

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaylene R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

User friendly interface, with no coding nessisary. Filled with so many trnaformations

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I don't perticularly dislike anything, it's very good.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

I recommend you use trifacta to replace long winded data wrangling and transformations.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trifacta has made my work life faster, easier and streamlined day to day transformations. Wrangling tool you can use with any data types. User friendly interface, with no coding nessisary.

  ### 11. Trifacta from a Wrangler's perspective.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathon B. | Director of Data Analysis, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I am a user of the Cloud Dataprep version of Trifacta and for me the tight integration for both ingest and output within the Google Cloud Platform is amazing - building as it does on the fantastic functionality of Trifacta wrangling engine underneath.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I can find few faults in Trifacta nor Cloud Dataprep. I look forward to any expansion that may be coming with respect to further types of data input.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trifacta and Dataprep are my normalisation engine. We have so many different forms of data and to get them into some semblance of commonality is our #1 feature use.

  ### 12. Seamless, Efficient tools for improved workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I like the dataprep product available on Google Cloud Platform. The vast amount of recipes available to transform your data. Almost any transformation is possible with it. The visual interface makes it easy for non tech users to use it with ease.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I would like the dataprep product to support more data sources like MongoDB. Not sure but if possible, I would like to dataprep to support some more coulmn types in bigquery like arrays. Once had to find a little workaround in my workflow.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

I recommend they give it a try, definitely worth it!

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building data pipelines! More productive workflows.

  ### 13. Best Dataprep tool to deal with large datasets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I was looking for a solution to read/extract/transform a big flat file which is having 100M + records of 15GB data. After spending a few days trying different ETL tools, I found this tool via google cloud as google data prep. It really saved my time and I was able to complete my job in less than a few hours and I see my data stored in BigQuery.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta has great features but the User interface could have been better implemented so easy to understand

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data transformation from a big dataset and stored in BigQuery

  ### 14. seamless, comprehensive, cloud based data transformation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Somnath M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

- wide range of integrations
- does not consume computing resource
- can be automated
- can be scaled
- covers almost every conceivable transformation
- easy to learn

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta is a bit too pricey. There is a free version as well, but that's very limited when one wants to test out some serious data wrangling project.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Trust me, its ease of use will beat anything else in the market.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I collate several data sources, run radical transformations on the data, then I perform conditional joins and then some mathematical computation as well.

  ### 15. BigData Cleansing & Profiling

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The ease of use and UI with suggestions. The drag and highlight feature on data to easy use Regex without using any code is quite amazing.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I am hearing the cost is too high and also want the tool to provide basics reporting and catalog as part of its offering.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Try POC and its easy to use due to auto suggestion and great UI

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data wrangling without writing complex code and for also business analyst who are not good in SQL

  ### 17. Satisfying Trifacta

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The possibility of using code sentences.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The time spent to output the file from Trifacta once everything is finished.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Using the tutorial or any tools to understand how Trifacta works.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Cleaning and Data Transformations. With Trifacta, I have spent way less time on performing these tasks.

  ### 18. Saves so much time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The layout is very intuitive and easy to work with. Being able to see a profile of the data before a job is run is also extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There are a small handful of use cases that we can't use Trifcata for, but that is because of the nature of the data itself, not a true Trifacta issue.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Determining data quality from the initial acquire rather than waiting to get to QA after completing other steps in our workflow. This has helped prevent us from needing to backtrack, saving a lot of time and headache.

  ### 19. Perfect tool for data preparation with great support and service!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brickell T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Sampling data before pulling the whole dataset.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I have no dislikes, the tool works well, and the UI is intuitive... however, the deployment documentation might need a bot of work.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) inherently in the tool, or integration with ABAC solutions where Trifacta offloads all data access to a policy engine... for example, instead of connecting to and listing all S3 buckets that an authenticated user has access to, Trifacta would auth via SSO/SAML, but leave the authorization to the ABAC solution.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data preparation; the sampling of data before transforming the whole dataset is very useful in controlling costs, and reducing the time to quality data.

  ### 20. Does a great Job - No fuss

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The training materials for Trifacta are really great, there’s several tutorials videos you can use anytime when trying to target a specific function you want to learn a lot more about. It’s pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I like the flexibility of the product - its ability to handle multiple data sources and to combine them into a single view and build complex analytics. The infographics capabilities are powerful. They help us to quickly identify patterns, mismatches and give you a quick option to identify the issues you'll need to resolve before you run a job and get the desired output.

Simple UI to display small to large datasets, easiness to understand and use of the Modelling functionality. Anyone with minimal technical knowledge can easily build a recipe.

Another positive point is the cloud based system. You can use the wrangling platform anywhere as far as you have a good and reliable connection. I find it very scalable and effective solution to use.

Trifacta support Team is amazing. They’re very accessible and you can book a session with Dr Prep if you’re stuck and need help. They seem to always have someone available to assist you when you need it.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Except for some minor connection issues now and then, we don't really dislike anything. We’ve been able to exactly get the desired outputs after wrangling several very large files.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Highly recommend the product for anyone trying to use very large datasets in the Biotech industry.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sample Data Acquisition and processing
Usability and Re-usability of bio-sample data across and beyond clinical trials

  ### 21. One stop solution for data wrangling.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aadhithya H. | Member Technical Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Text selection feature is probably the most used one. The suggestions that are being shown when the text is selected is one of the top notch feature that is availble in trifacta. Apart from it the column details page where the text is classified into patterns for operating on patterns is one of the most excellent feature.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Column by Examples is taking much longer time.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Best data wrangling software available in tha market

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pure data preparation for machine learning

  ### 22. Great data wrangler

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramon M. | Senior architect, Project Manager & BIM Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta is very intuitive and the suggestions make it even more simpler for newbies! As well, in case of doubt the team is there to help you very effectively.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

So far. It's been a great experience of use.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great ease of use for cleaning a data set for team profitability. The analysis of the data sets before Trifacta was tedious, now, I am able to clean and send the data to Tableau for further analysis and reporting in a fraction of time and with less mistakes.

  ### 23. Great UI, robust formula/feature library

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

If you are really good with Excel, you will be really good in Trifacta. But even without Excel experience, the interface is ridiculously intuitive and the real-time suggestions and output previews are powerful tools that cut hours of back and forth that other softwares might leave you with.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

As with any SAAS application, the hosted version of Trifacta can be exposed to instability between the frequent(monthly) feature/enhancement/fix releases. Nothing that has impacted scheduled jobs so far, but I've had to recreate some recipes after releases because of errors in the browser.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Easy enough for an Analyst to use.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrations, Data Mapping, flat file conversion and Analysis

  ### 24. One of the best tools of its kind I have tried.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yiannis K. | Systems Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The interface is intuitive and easy to understand what each function does. It is fast. The best thing is you don't have to be a data scientist to use it. Also, the support is top-notch.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The export function takes a little getting used to, but after that is smooth sailing

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Its one of those pieces of software that you would wish you have found out about sooner. Read the documentation and you;l have no problem using the software

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have needed to clean small datasets that although small cannot be done by hand. trifecta gives me an invaluable tool to do my job without much fuss

  ### 25. Ensnared

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Intuitive and intelligent interface with some exceptions, out of the box with GCP.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

First it’s riddled with bugs. Second, Trifacta recently increased pricing without justification, as well as pricing model, which for us is a 3000% increase that basically will throw our Data warehouse project back 6 month or more and cost someone a job.

Typically Google is not taking any responsibility for this price increase or anything else. But they sure like to receive our money.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Lots of bugs and unpredictable pricing increases.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s an easy tool to combine and clean up data when working on ETL for a project like a data warehouse.

**Official Response from Matt Derda:**

> Thanks for sharing your feedback. With the rollout of the new Cloud Dataprep pricing, we are listening to feedback from users and the community. This will help inform any future actions we take.

As an existing Cloud Dataprep user, be reassured that your current pricing will not change for the next 2 years ($0.60 per hour per number of dataflow worker vCPUs) for your existing projects. You can continue to use Cloud Dataprep with no change to the pricing.

One element of the new pricing model that may have gone unnoticed is that vCPU pricing is now more than 7 times cheaper (approximately $0.083 vCPU per hour) than the existing model.

Let us know if you want to discuss this further, we would be happy to get on a call with you to discuss the new model in detail and hear more of your feedback. Send us a note at team@trifacta.com

  ### 34. Trifacta as a SQL substitute

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The formula helpers ensuring you can’t have an error in a formula, the visual guides on join types, the row counters showing before vs after.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta is really only helpful for data that is in a “perfect” shape. Where the first row is the column headers, and then the data come after. If you have data files with metadata in the header/footer of a file, I’ve found you need to preprocess the files into that “perfect” shape first. I also don’t like that you can’t turn off the function where trifacta infers datatypes, I’d rather control that.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to decentralize our standardization procedures from a core central SQL team to business users who know the data best but lack technical knowledge.

  ### 35. Using TRIFACTA as a data wrangling tool for real time data profiling

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

real time data profiling on a variety of different data sources

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

data sampling is good but it is 2-steps!

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Do perform ample due diligence about what you wanted to use Trifacta for. For example, we wanted to use Trifacta to help us deDup, After a couple of months, we are still learning the tool. We have not got on the task of De-Duplicating our records yet.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting to different data sources in real-time is great. But the 2-step process could be slow at times.

  ### 36. Powerfull Tool for Data Wrangler

I like best about the interface and commands that are user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The price could be more accessible for freelancers consultants.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Think about freelancers consultants providing them a more affordable price.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've solved data cleansing problems. The benefits I have realized were velocity in the data prep process.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The Column standardization and date time customization still need to be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Easy to use and have excellent functionalities. Little expensive. Kindly consider this in place of your data integration tools.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have wrangled clinical data and scheduled jobs. It is mainly used as a data preparatory tool before we push the data into reports.

  ### 38. I had had a good experience with Trifacta!

It offers a fluid and permanent user interface regardless of the volume of data you are wrangling.
Predictive transformation helps in providing the
next ideal suggestions of transformations that can be applied on the selected data thereby facilitating easy use of this tool for a non-programmer.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

On processing large amount of data,it takes some time.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trifacta helps in removing unwanted data and standardize the formats of the data for analysis.

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The automatic data profiling is my favorite feature

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It can be a bit clunky and unintuitive to use at times

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Trifacta as the transformation layer in an ELT process. It was easy to spin up and use

  ### 41. Great User-Friendly Interface for Data Visualization and Wrangling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Great user interface - being able to visualise the data and go into a Column Details view for an in-depth profile of that variable makes it easy to understand and work with the data. Being able to either use drop-down menus for functions as a new user or to write and copy recipe steps as a more advanced user is great for teams with different levels of experience. The fact the functions heavily mirror Excel functions allows for a lot of skill cross-over. The ability of the system to make suggestions also makes it easy for anyone to use and not have to write extensive formulas. The output of wrangles for audit trails is also great - much clearer language than other systems I have used. The ability to share Flows within the team allows for greater collaboration and quality control.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It was a little tricky trying to find things at first and resources around making reference datasets and such were not as straight forward as other topics. Have also come across a few transformations we need that we cannot seem to find a way to do, but customer support has been great in trying to help out.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The user-interface and clarity of the language makes it easier to train new staff in the system than previous software we used. The clear audit trail outputs also are much better than what we previously had in place - this increases our transparency and reproducibility of results. Overall has increased the efficiency and interoperabilty of the team.

  ### 42. Awesome and easy to use tool for data cleaning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcio V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

easyness of use allows a jumpstart with added value from day 1

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

lack of affordable options to integrate with external data sources

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

excellent for small and large businesses

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been an essential tool for our data transformation process. Without this tool, we would still be at the beginning of the journey. Very easy to use and with an excellent knowledge base that allows you to learn and immediately use complex notions of data transformation

  ### 43. Breaching the Data Engineer barrier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit M. | Data lake Product, Defense & Space, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The focus at doing data preparation the best as it can be. A lot of companies are trying to be a "jack of all trades" but end up as a Master of None. That's not the case with Trifacta. It's sole purpose is to enable end-users, such as data and business analysts to prepare and wrangle data without the in-depth knowledge that is required of a skilled Data Engineer. The interface is interactive in it's way that it suggests you what to do next with your current data - so you never feel lost.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It's "source of power" is also it's weakness. It's very focused on the preparation process. Meaning it lacks the means of vizualization and in-depth integration with common databases. This gap gets smaller and smaller with each big update (E.G writing straight from Trifacta to Relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SqlServer) but it won't quite yet rival big integration-focused companies such as talend and informatica, in that regard.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Understand your most important features. Mine were
a. no-code policy
b. support for regex
c. interactiveness
d. DataQuality measurements (AKA data-quality-bar)

if the thing you're lacking the most is NOT data preparation - this tool is not for you.
If you ARE lacking in the data preparation department, and don't have an army of data engineers - this is the best tool a money can buy for this job.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The data-engineer bottleneck. We have only 10 data engineers, but 100 skilled data analysts, who were reliant on the data-engineer to do all the "dirty work", so to speak.
We've realized the benefit of not having to "transfer knowledge" from the SME's (Subject Matter Experts) to the data engineers just so that the DE could clean the data. Instead, the "smartest person in the room" with regards to the data - is now the one CLEANING the data. That a huge leap towards handling our data-lake correctly.

  ### 44. Robust Data Cleanup and Visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Great user interface. Trifacta has a simple to create recipes that you can then reuse over and over again. Dataset sizes are essentially unlimited in size and can be processed very rapidly. Rapid data analysis on large datasets sets it apart from other software. Great support if needed. The company listens to feedback. Secure for confidential data analysis.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Simple interface keeps you coming back!
Loading of new projects - would prefer to have a choice to use a classic opening GUI interface as found in most programs.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Highly advise to try it out. You will be happy you did!

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performing data analysis on large patient datasets in a hospital environment.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There were a few glitches unfortunately, but the support team has been able to assist extremely quickly.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 46. Really recommend Trifacta

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Where to start? Easy to learn to use, seamless integration with existing data sources, no need for business users to learn SQL. Remove any assumptions on data, just explore the data on trifacta. No need for IT support for business users to get datasets. Automatic audit trail. Trifacta is the most impactful data prep tool I have ever used

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Not so much a dislike, for large datasets the sampling function both is an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage is speed disadvantage is the edge case where the sample is not representative of the data. This can be solved by resembling or using the different sample functionality

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Try it, Trifacta are a good company to partner with and you will see results in days

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits are, speed of access to data. Ability to work creatively on datasets to prepare data for data science use. Support business strategy by bringing users directly to the data.
