**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filipe d. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The insight generators when I am preparing a specific column. Paying only for the processed volume is fantastic, it makes me feel at ease knowing that I will always have a tool available and will only pay for what I use.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I don't know if it's a connection or hardware problem, but for me sometimes the tool becomes very slow or unexpected errors occur where the recipe simply doesn't open. This is just a specific comment, the tool is great, but sometimes this happens. I will start noting some bugs and point click actions to do transpose mainly.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

It is certainly the first choice in data preparation.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data from health systems that require conversations between current and legacy systems, preparation of large volumes of information for wide format. The ease of using the tool is incredible, in a short time it is possible to reach a level that will be able to address the vast majority of difficulties in data preparation, the help center content is excellent, both those developed by GCP and directly on the Trifacta website.

  ### 7. Close to great, but not quite there

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach E. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I love being able to visually see my data and the interactions with it as I'm making changes/wrangling it into shape.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There are small things that really get to me when using the tool. One, when I copy recipes they don't always copy every step. So I have to double check them and then go back and fix the step. So only getting a half copy. Sometimes the tools doesn't behave the way I think it should when doing steps. I have used two different versions of the tool and when you aren't on the Trifacta hosted version you get fewer sampling options. You are going to want the stratified option when sampling. Also sampling, if you are working with a large data set you are going to have to sample A LOT. Get's very old quick.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using the tool to clean and join data from different systems.

  ### 8. Excellent data conversion application!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

I like the flowchart process and the ease of usage.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There is nothing that I do not dislike about it.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We get many datasets with different layouts. Trifacta makes our processes shorter and scalable.

  ### 9. Great data wrangling tool with intuitive user interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

  ### 12. Easy and intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorenzo L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The ability to check the effects of each operation on data is very useful.
The documentation of the functions is excellent and easy to consult.
Big data export is fast thanks.
The cloud application saves a lot of time, no configurations or compatibility problems with operating systems.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Unfortunately, the free version is limited and it is not easy to have the opportunity to try the full version before buying it.
Unfortunately, the visualization of many datasets connected with them is sometimes complicated, the models are superimposed and there is no possibility of reorganizing them.
They added another type of visualization which is still in beta for now, it will probably solve the problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

I recommend Trifacta to all users who need to clean, reorganize and export large amounts of data. Furthermore, thanks to the graphical interface, the service can be used for any user of any level of computer knowledge.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With trifacta I was able to integrate data from different datasets to create a useful model for market analysis.
Specifically, I was able to integrate the reviews of several products with many data that were not present in the original dataset.
For example the author of a book, the publishing house or the director and the film actors.

  ### 13. An easy to use solution with high value returns

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The ease of use that provides agility and speed to provide the correct view of the data for business value to the enterprise. The ability to provide an automated data profile pipe-line and manage via exception. You do not need to understand development to use Trifacta you only need to understand your data and business. Makes it easy for business users to use Trifacta. You can perform complex data profiling and wrangling task easy and with the necessary speed business demand

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I have not come across any downside using Trifacta

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

The speed at which you are able to setup Trifacta and get tangible value and return of investment is unparalleled to other technologies. Their support and understanding exceeds expectations.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving merging various datasets into one view easily with automating the process for machine learning. We match various datasets via and application id to form one table. This process is assist in providing a full automated real-time application score to approve medical project applications. Trifacta provides the advantage of the data in the correct format with the correct data quality for the necessary integratory.

  ### 14. Dataprep is a great tool for technical and not-so-technical people.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Dataprep is intuitive to use if you have some background knowledge in data wrangling, but it is also a great platform to learn the data wrangling concepts by applying them.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The interface is relatively slow. The platform's main point of weakness in my opinion is the fact that it only displays samples of the data instead of the entire dataset - which can be misleading, especially when working with specific functions. It should be possible to allow working with entire datasets instead of just samples.
The new drag-and-drop interface is not as easy to use as I would want it to be (even though it is still in beta). It is relatively hard to understand how everything works while dragging different recipes around. It would help to have a comprehensive guide on how to use this new functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Try out the software before you judge it. You will notice how much it helps you in your data wrangling and management, and how much you can learn by using it - not only about the platform itself, but about the theory behind what you are doing.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started our data wrangling projects with raw SQL in BigQuery, but that quickly proved to be very messy in terms of code management. When there are complex transformations and / or cleaning happening, it's great to have everything centralised in Dataprep and having a visual representation of what happens to the data in every stage.
It also allows to check the success rate of flows by looking at the logs.

  ### 15. The Wrangling capabilities of Trifacta. #impressed!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacey R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I am in machine learning and AI as a data analyst. Trifacta by far is the most convenient software i have used by far. I am able to create flows and save them in order to use those data transformations again when we run similar reporting.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I would like Trifacta to integrate a little more to be able to sit within my applications or development. But it works just great the way it is.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

When considering Trifacta, My advice is that you need to know that it may take you a bit to get used to although the learning curve is not large at all, it is a much more user friendly tool and to developers this can be a bit different. It is warmly welcomed in a world where data wrangling and transformations are almost unheard of. There are lots of online tutorials and guides to look at if need be.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently integrating data from a web app platform to RPA and data analytics, the wrangling of free text and transformations has greatly increased the speed at which this can be done and so makes the whole process so much more accurate.

  ### 16. User friendly tool with lots of scope for improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavani Priyadarshini J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The ease of loading unclean data into bigquery. Different formats & edits can be made while loading. The feature to show the number of records that don't align to the type of data makes it extremely useful.
The scheduling feature that runs seamlessly.
The multiple different output & input formats & locations.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

When the number of unclean records are shown, there needs to be a way to view just these and be able to correct each of them or have a feature of make edits for specific records.
There needs to be a way to notify when there is an error, an email to the owner of the flow.
Default access to all the workflows within the organisation, instead to needing to share them one by one.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Loading Data into BigQuery. The tool is extremely user friendly. BigQuery's native data upload functionality is very basic and extremely hard to debug in case of errors.
This tool is not available on Safari.

  ### 17. Trifacta - importing into Bigquery Sandboxes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terry S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta is easy to pick up and play, to import, cleanse data and export to another system (in our case Bigquery) is really simple and intuitive. The tool's suggestion on data cleansing options is spot on as well.

For a cloud based system data uploads incredibly quick.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Lacks some of the functionality of rivals such as setting up a joint workspace, although flows and dataset can be sent to others it would be great to share some sort of project with colleagues.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Probably the easiest pick and play option for ETLs

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working in a 100+ year old business that has a habit of acquiring smaller businesses and then requiring reporting in one location, and with Bigquery, one table, Data Cleansing and transfers is a big part of my job. Trifacta is useful to analyse massive datasets from POS systems that possible haven't had the resource behind them before to standardise.

  ### 18. Excellent data wrangling tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anuj P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There are so many options to play with the data

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There is nothing as such which I dislike

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

It is great data wrangling tool which can be used by all individuals. Easy to use and understand

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tool doesn't need too much of training to get started. As and when you use, you learn. Can be used by non-technical teams as well.

  ### 19. Google Cloud Dataprep

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravitej B. | Data Engieer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I like the ability to transform the data on Google Cloud Data Prep without coding, it is a absolute game changes for business users who work with data day in and day out but don't have coding skills. We also like the AI features where we can transform the data by example which gives us the ability to provide few examples and datapre takes care of the transformation. we also liked the ability to integrate datapre with rest of the cloud service on Google Cloud Platform like Bigquery and Google cloud storage.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Current version that we used did not had the ability to connect to on-premise database like oracle, we had to create jobs in python which is time consuming and we had to rely on IT team to get the task done.
We would also like to see feature to extract data in xlsx files which we don't see currently
Is there a feature to orchestrate Data Flows without using third party schedules like airflow
Feature to create Custom filters (in a drop down)
We are absolutely new to wrangler programing language so we had to learn to build few custom transformation that were not available out of the box

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Dataprep gives us the ability to transform data with out coding and it is a game changes, we don't rely on IT for most of the transformations work but we leverage inbuilt feature for all the transformations work. Datapre is current generation tool with the ability to upscale or downscale base don the need.

  ### 20. A perfect tool for Data Scientists, ML engineers for data processing and getting data insights.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hardik M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Data processing in the click of buttons. Features such as Join and other transformations are very useful. Instead of using python libraries, this is the quickest way for data processing. Moreover, its affiliation with Google cloud platform helps to create the model in short period of time. The data processed using Trifacta dataprep can be directly used for AutoML tables. It provides insights like the correlation between columns. The interface displays the histogram showing the spread of data, along with histogram dataprep displays the type of data i.e. categorical or numerical. It also has the feature for standard datatypes like date, phone number, address, etc. It can also process the .json format data into structured data useful for Machine Learning.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The interface lags sometimes could be more smooth and lightweight. Not much of the resources available, video tutorials on Youtube if produced can help a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Trifacta is a great software for data processing and would save you time. It has most of the transformation features. It does not require any programming skills. It is a user-friendly application that can be handled by a non-tech savvy person too. Moreover, GCP credits cab be used to operate dataprep. It is a simple application in which you can excel within a week. It eliminates the need to learn to code for data processing. There are tooltips to provide the details of each function. The interface displays the histogram showing the spread of data, along with histogram dataprep displays the type of data i.e. categorical or numerical. It also has the feature for standard datatypes like date, phone number, address, etc. It can also process the .json format data into structured data useful for Machine Learning.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved the problem of data processing required for training the models. It handles every problem like invalid data type, missing values and many more.

  ### 21. Google Cloud Dataprep

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

When looking to clean or prep large files Dataprep comes in very handy. Especially with its direct integrations with Cloud Storage and Bigquery. The tool is also easy to use and suggests many common data transformation steps based on how your source data looks when you first upload it into the tool.

Scheduling ingestion jobs is also very simple to do in Dataprep when your source data lives in Google Cloud Storage and your destination is Bigquery. For anyone using the Google Cloud Platform for data warehousing purposes, Dataprep is a must use tool.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The product can be a little bit intimidating to first time users. There are so many tools available and I find that the documentation is not the best. I find the tool also suffers from intermittent slow downs from time to time.

More integrations would be great. I know that more are coming down the pipe and am looking forward to trying them out.

Notifications when a flow fails would be a great addition. If something changes with the source data without us knowing it may cause a recipe to fail. If we can be notified when a failure happens it would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

If you are using the Google Cloud Platform to spin up a Datawarehouse or if you require data cleansing/prep work for other purposes, Trifacta Dataprep is a must use tool.

It integrates seamlessly into pipelines built in the GCP ecosystem and they have new integrations coming down the pipe (Salesforce being one of them).

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Dataprep to clean data extracts from multiple and upload the prepped data into Google Bigquery. We have daily scripts running that dump daily raw extracts into Google Cloud Storage. Using parameterized datasets in Dataprep, we pull the new files daily into a flow that cleans/preps it and sticks the data into Bigquery.

  ### 22. Useful for wrangling data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta (or at least Cloud Dataprep by Trifacta, which is the verision I have used) is a useful tool in data preperation. The company I work at switched to Google Cloud Platform, having previously used a combination of SQL servers & Datameer, and while BigQuery gave us a step up with the SQL stuff, when it comes to dealing with unstructured data Trifacta helped solve a lot of the problems I previously solved with Datameer. The flow chart UI is intuitive, and there are a wide range of functions.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The sampling functionality, while good, isn't the fastest when relying on DataFlow (this may relate to a resource constraint within my organisation) making the process not totally responsive at times. Arguably there could be greater crossover in the way that functions are named with BigQuery if GCP users are likely to use the two in tandem rather than as an either/or. It might be useful to be able to schedule based on more triggers outside Trifacta itself (i.e. file or table modifications); doing everything in Trifacta & chaining flows together sort of gets around this, but again it's not quite so as integrated with the GCP ecosystem as it might be. I have had the odd issue with crashes, but typically with very large datasets & awkward transformations of these; nothing I wasn't able to resolve through giving Trifacta better input.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

I'd definitely advise any GCP user to make it part of their skillset. My approach was to just sort of dive into using it, but the other, similar tools I used before it might have made that more practical for me than some. The documentation is good and the community/support pages are helpful so if you do get stuck, while there's not a wealth of stuff on stackoverflow like you might find for other products, you shouldn't struggle to find solutions to problems.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use it to transform unstructured JSON into a useable form for projects in BigQuery, as well as for text processing/regex stuff where again I feel it outperforms the other GCP alternatives. It's been very helpful in realising some automation goals that rely on these processes where otherwise I might have needed to move data around more and use more python - it made the process faster & easier.

  ### 23. Very intuitive tool, for ETL process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Used this software for the first time during a Data Analytics Course, on an ETL class. For me, Trifact showed itsefl as an easy to understand and handle interface. Among the options, the software proved to be better than its peers, mostly because of his "flows" section, that is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The process to extract the files to my pc. Basically, the second time that I had to use the software, I struggled a little to upload the files, transform the data and extract it to use on another software. I had to watch some videos on Youtube, to remind exactly how to use it properly, or in another words, to remember the comamnds and settings. On my opinion, it was because i am not acquainted with Trifacta, but it is a matter of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

I think it's a good entry level software, that can be used by anyone with a minimum expertise of how to handle data/ or accessing ETL process at the very beginning.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The process of cleaning and transforming data. As I wrote on my first answer, it was part of a class, to use Trifacta to solve an exercisea bout ETL. We (the class) have learned about other ways (softwares) to transform data, but the teacher gave more focus on it. Not sure about the reason, but, at the end, it showed itself as a very good option between all the tools that we used.

  ### 24. Easy to use, great tool.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brayan Q. | Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The best thing about dataprep has been the ease of use, no advanced awareness is needed, the learning curve is extremely short, no knowledge of languages such as Java or Python or SQL is required, all data sets are loaded into the interface and already you can start doing data crossovers, data cleansing.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

For example in GCP there are only few data sources and in general could be great if the tool could connect with external APIs to enrich the data. In some projects we need to enrich the information with machine learning models or with external data sources to return coordinates to be analyzed with Business Intelligence tools or draw some maps.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

In experience when using it with the google cloud, it is easy to use since it shows an understandable user interface, at the same time that data is loaded, information profiling can be performed, it integrates directly with information processing tools. Google owns dataflow, which automatically scales resources without the need to configure machines manually. The most important thing is that if you are using dataprep cloud providers it is already integrated and it is simply enabling the service to start using it.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The possibility of loading large data sets to BigQuery, joining different csv files, profiling the data without the need to install complicated tools such as hadoop environments or implement a machine with large resources to be able to open the heaviest files simply with the sample that generate dataprep now work can be done.

  ### 25. The ultimate data transformer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Misagh J. | Business Intelligence Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Visual queues and intelligent suggestions. We are a central repository for over 100 systems and we need to model, unify and clean data of all shapes and form. We use Trifacta as our primary tool for promoting data from staging area to our data warehouse. So far Trifacta has been amazing. Their support team worked with us during trial to make sure we can get started right away.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There is a little bug for reading timestamp from Snowflake. As soon as we reported it, Trifacta started working on addressing it.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is no way we could adequately manage data cleansing process with so many different sources and format. It would be hard to imagine how many different lines of code we had write and maintain in order to clean 1 single column from 100 different systems or how painful this process would have been with traditional ETL tooling. With Trifacta we are able to union and join all our sources and wrangle in place with clicks.

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The transformation view and the suggestions to apply one logic with the output view and the sample 10 mb data with the execution time ,we can take data for any source and the any amount of data just we need to take a sample of 10 mb every time we build the transformation

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

each time we need to run the code to get accurate result

fillers ( path ) # Function for avoiding and replacing special characters
comma_remover ( path ) # Comma removal in specified columns

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Very good tool to use for data preparation connectivity to all data source that we can use

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the aggregation to the complex data sets for reporting and analysis and the data to union and join and lookup with another data set makes the data effective to work upon

  ### 27. Visual, Powerful and User-Friendly with few limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thibaut G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

No "Per User" pricing model makes it a scalable solution in complement or replacement of others solutions (ETL, prep tools, quality, scheduler,...)
Can be leveraged to onboard non savvy tech people to directly handle their data jobs
Excel-like UX makes it easy to learn (hard to master as well)

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Some features are still missing and the product is still young to really rely on it for critical production Dataflows I would say. But recent versions are more and more moving toward that direction

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More Data people can contribute to the delivery of Dataflows, accelerating the TTM
Used as an ETL on GCP for building our DWH/DMs. The devs and the modelisation phases can be performed by the same people, working for instance in a Feature Team.

  ### 28. Trifacta is incredible data tool that is a game changer for how we work with our data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meir K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The fact that it is cloud based, simple to use and comes with lots of free training. The level of support is also great. They are super focused on helping their users learn the platform and walk you through multiple sessions to ensure that we are making progress in our learning and usability.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Some of the pages load slowly and formulas require a more technical background.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Speak to users who have implimented Trifacta 6 months earlier or more and how the product is helping them work better.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to profile our data super fast and also answer data questions that we could not answer previously. We are still new and I anticipate having much more to include on this topic after a few more months.

  ### 29. Nice tool for data processing, very potential with a lot to improve.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cat V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Easy to use UI, many tools to use from Joining, Grouping, Union & Macro.

The fact that Dataprep get updated regularly make the users feel more confident, that the dataflow is being processing will last for a long time & they don't have to change tool soon.

The recently updated Macro feature is a great tool to simplify the flow & make it more accessible for other members of the team.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Processing time & loading time is the most disturbed cons. The errors sometimes are hard to understand & trace back. Recently Dataprep took me 5 minutes to load the main screen, and with some heavy recipes the waiting is like forever. Sometimes the recipe load to 99% and then freeze. The scheduled tasks can fail sometimes in the middle of the night without any warnings or option to retry.

Of all things, the loading & processing time is still the most frustrated thing. Imagine you plan to finish the task in 1 hours, and then it takes you 2 days to finish it, just because the loading is too damn slow & you can't merely do nothing but staring at the monitor & praying for it not fail. After a couple of recipes, you'll have to open Dataprep in a new tab or even clear cache of the browser if you want to continue your work, or risk suffering freezing dead loading screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

If you need a tool to help you arrange, format, do some simple calculation with your data & a simple, interactive UI then Dataprep is a good choice for you.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dataprep helps us prepare & format the data in schedule before calculating it with other tools. Before that, we use Google Sheet to both store & calculate data, it useful but can not handle large amount of data & the processing time is longer the more data we have.

  ### 30. Quick to learn, efficient and powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Switching software can be difficult but the online training made it quick and relatively painless for the team. Teams can easily share recipes and flows. Connectivity to multiple platforms was simple. Support by trifactor and the trifactor community make it easy to solve any questions that may arise.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

We're still relatively new users with Trifacta and any headaches have been resolved pretty quickly so far so nothing to complain about at this time.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had some large data sets that have taken hours to process with our old software. Trifacta has significantly decreased our processing time and actually pointed out a smarter and more efficient way complete the weekly process.

  ### 31. Convenient and Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanusha K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

A very convenient platform for data wrangling. I love the detailed features available to fine-tune the data, like "remove leading and trailing white spaces / quotation marks", "split columns on delimiters", data joining (inner & outer) etc. that are not usually available on regular spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Sometimes transferring data can be a little difficult. The split columns on multiple delimiters did not work too well sometimes. It's not very easy to understand the flows that are created while dealing with several datasets.
While scrolling through the data, it can be a little tricky to get a good overview of the data.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

The simplest to use data wrangling software I have come across. Do not hesitate to go for this one, in any case there is no downside to trying it out. I found it to be much more convenient for manipulating data than traditional products like MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Trifacta for school projects. It was quite easy to tweak a few complicated details of the data with this tool. The project was a regular data analytics project.

  ### 32. The most innovation-friendly data preparation software, helps derive meaning insights of dull data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruchira S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Trifacta is a software used by data analysts, scientists & engineers like me. To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of data preparation while using this tool since it works smarter and faster as compared to other tools. Besides, the need for accurate and deep insights out of raw and messy datasets is something that can help the growth of the business. Using Trifacta makes the preparation of data efficient at the initial stage by obtaining deep insights.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Limitation to edit each cell. In Excel, editing each cell makes it easier, but in the case of Trifacta, there is a limitation to edit a cell individually.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

It's easy to use and the best data preparation tool out on the market. The integration with Google Cloud makes it even better. It's a time saver and automates your data cleaning with simple SQL commands

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trifacta automates most of the data preparation parts, whereas in Excel everything needs to be done manually including cleaning the dataset.

  ### 33. Extremely useful for anyone that wants to periodically process data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomas G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

How easy it is to create a data processing pipeline. The UI is very smart, although it sometimes freezes a little bit. The ability to see what each transformation would do to your data helps a lot.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It's difficult to share any project with other accounts. It would also be ideal if there was a way to edit workflows you have exported. That way, one could export from one account, edit with a simple text editor the resulting JSON (or even make a script for that) and then import into another account. For us, that we work with several clients, each with a different account, it would make our lives easier.
The whole "checksum validation" is a pain in the ...
Also, the new price model for the future years will make the solution impossible to use for some companies (probably mine included)

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Check the new price model carefully

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Advertisement data processing. Done every night.
After that, we fill our BigQuery tables, update our dashboards in Google Data Studio, and get valuable data from our client's digital marketing efforts.

  ### 34. Trifacta is one of the best Data Preparation tool available & now it is implemented on cloud too.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshwin L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Numerous of features & functions available which can be used easily. We can easily import many type of files, and also export the prepared flows for Data Analysis or for other uses to other Google Platforms like BigQuery or Cloud Functions. Huge flows will run within few minutes. Fast response from the support team for every queries & also work hard for solving the issues soon. Provide regular updates once or twice a month.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

When it comes to cloud there are some limitations now such as some performance issues. But they are improving it day by day by adding more features. The exported flow format is unique for Trifacta so we cannot open with other similar tools or we cannot convert it to other format. There is some slowness experiencing in the User Interface of Cloud Trifacta.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it for my work. Creating & preparing the data for Analysis. Importing data from Buckets & BigQuery after preparing exporting it as .csv file.

  ### 35. Useful for non-tech and tech users, but can't automate it

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

We use this for transferring a medium amount of data daily from avro files. The transformation rules and macros are very powerful---this is a good way of importing data into BigQuery without having to write the transformations programmatically.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The UI is fine for setting up a few transformations and scheduling them, but it's tedious when you have to set up 10 or 50 of them. If I could script the setup I'd probably rate Trifacta a 10. As it is, it takes several minutes per table to click, click, click your way through the procedure.

There are also a few minor UI shortcomings---e.g. you often end up with the wrong number of parameters in the last step of setting up an export, but it doesn't always tell you which ones they are, so you have to go all the way back and try again.

Also, it would be great if it was compatible with more databases and flat-text formats. But it sounds like this is on the roadmap.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We looked at a few ways of setting up the nightly import of avro files; the nice part of Trifacta is that it doesn't need a programmer/data engineer to set it up. It's not trivial, but it's not hard, either.

  ### 36. Time Saver and the Best Data Cleaning tool on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Udit M. | BGS honoree, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The integration with Google cloud makes it so easy to transfer files back and forth. The best part about the tool is its data visualization on top of each column that makes it easy to identify the parameters. The easy to use User Interface is also something I like the most.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Limitation to not use SQL queries and also the limitation to individually select a specific column and edit it like Excel. Lacking the Highlight duplicates feature.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Trifacta for data cleaning and it is an excellent time-saver. I previously did all my data cleaning using excel manually before this. Trifacta has reduced my turn around time by almost 2X.

  ### 37. Great tool for building a data preparation pipeline

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

You can see a preview of the data cleaning and processing rules you setup
You can schedule runs and output the data to different destinations, including BigQuery database
Many pre-set rules to apply in one click
Able to work with huge volumes of data

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There is a limit of how many rows you can see in the sample, the limit is quite big but in some cases you are not able to view all special cases and can miss handling them

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Great for: Machine Learning pipelines, Data cleaning and preparation for ML projects
Data aggregations, Schedule runs and read/write between data sources and databases
You can see a preview of the data cleaning and processing rules you setup
You can schedule runs and output the data to different destinations, including BigQuery database
Many pre-set rules to apply in one click
Able to work with huge volumes of data

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data cleaning and preparation for ML projects
Data aggregations
Schedule runs and read/write between data sources and databases

  ### 38. Without DataPrep by Trifacta - I would be very frustrated!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dorota K. | IT Business Intelligence Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Simple to start , logical to use.Easy to follow the logic of someone else's flows. Easy to correct and go back to the previous steps. Add/delete the wrong transformations. Easy to automate the data preparation.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Performance sometimes but rare. It looks like when it was some release of the DataPrep on Google Cloud - there were some performance challenges.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

it is really easy to use! It has a lot of functionality and functions. A lot of opportunity to do what you want with the data. It reads from the DB but also use csv files. You can schedule the updates. You can make it as a part of your automated ETL process.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making preparation and updates of my data much more easy. Once I create the logic in the flow - it takes minutes to refresh the data going forward.
I can easily handover the logic to people that don't have the data mindset - they can follow the logic easily.
Preparing the data for the BI solutions we are using in the company makes the process much easier and the fact that I can use this product as a part of Google Cloud Platform makes my job much easier.
Coming enhancements that Trifacta has in mind will probably make the process even better.

  ### 39. Powerful but heavy and slow

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

All transformation possibilities.
Scalable infrastructure.
GCP integration.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Interface is too much heavy and very slow.
UX bad design like the horizontal scroll that sometime slide the columns and sometime back to the previous windows : That's makes me totally crazy!!
Slow system for small data set.
Expensive for small data set manipulation.
Documentation : is sometime hard to find appropriate solution or expected support.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

It's a really good product to import in a fast and simple way raw and unstructured data like csv, json, avro.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Importing many sources and large amount of data.
Auto detect columns and data type from input data.
Automatic job run.
No coding system.
User centric.

  ### 40. Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Google Data Prep data has been extremely useful in terms of data cleansing and harmonizing the data with recipes. In the recipes we find it useful to analyze the data quickly and recognize errors in the data. Given we work with several different clients across several different industries that come to us with a host of data issues that we have to clean before we can get quality datasets into our database this tool has cut down a lot on that prep time. The feature that I find most useful is the unpivot feature, this tool has probably saved me 3.5 hours of work each week. This tool has also cut down on the SQL work and skill sets required to do the work.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

There is incremental logic that i have not been able to get Google Data Prep to pick up on so that i can stream line the data process as much as i want and therefore have to do some level of prep outside with Tableau. Recently we have been working with US Facts data that adds a new date column for new COVID cases or deaths each day ( with date as a column header), and we were not able to use Google Data Prep to pick up on the logic and adjust the recipes to handle this type of file that has new column additions each day.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using Trifacta for COVID19 related analysis, forecasting related analysis, weather impact modeling.

  ### 41. Trifacta use for sales information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Ease of use and ability to manipulate information. Use is fairly intuitive and and training video's give you ability to begin using pretty quickly. Have used to combine data sets remove duplicate information and extract needed data. The join capabilities of the product are effective and easy to use but you do need to be careful about how/what you are joining. It is easy to see the preliminary results and adjust as needed.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Have had some problems with time outs in free version. Possibly could be related however to types of joins being performed. Unfortunately product goes off and runs for an extended period of time before informing you that the job has failed. Would be good if you received notification earlier in process that the job will fail. however you can tell pretty quickly when it is likely to fail after a few uses.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

Be sure to go through training modules. It seems easy to use so the tendency to jump in but you can miss some of the finer points that cause problems. Also, start with some simple small datasets until you have the hang of it as it is a little different with the flow and recipes than other products that may have been used.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have used the product to manipulate and massage data from different datasets. Have used software to take raw data sets from lead generation tools and sources and join together / manipulate to create extract datasets that can be loaded into email campaign software.

Trifacta has allowed us to manipulate and process information in a fairly quickly manner that would take considerably longer through a tool like excel. It has streamlined our ability to take lead data and translate it into email marketing information with a minimal amount of effort.

Plan to extend the use of the product to take the resulting email campaign information and boil it down to usable information that can be acted on through more personal contact. Currently this is a relatively manual process of filtering though a considerable amount of information.

  ### 42. Trifacta makes data prep easy and simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I enjoy the accessibility, ease of use, modern graphic user interface, toolkit and how quickly it loads. It's really nice that the toolkit is done in plain english -- without too many formulas. I do wish it suggested some fixes here and there to the data -- I'd love to be able to preview if fuzzy matching worked before I added it as a step. I LOVE the dataset storage and clear dates -- sometimes I think it's easier to find uploads in Trifacta than it is to find them on my own computer. Joining is my favorite step process, I like the carnality being so easy to determine with estimates of matches being provided. Really love the graph previews in the table form. Likewise, I love that this is a cloud product I can log into from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Sometimes I feel the sales individuals are a bit spammy -- but it's not too terrible. I also dislike that sometimes jobs take quite sometime to complete for download / export, and then sometimes they fail entirely. Also, as a weird note, I find I am very lazy with naming conventions in the tool, and it makes me feel a bit disorganized when I open it up compared to other software tools as everything is just "flow 1", "flow 2" etc. I also dislike that I'm not even sure of it's full capabilities, I bet if I learned it better I'd use it a lot more. I don't really like that the job thing is a whole separate screen to monitor, I wish when the recipe was done, we could just export immediately. I'd definitely suggest that it'd be great if it recognized personal private information (like emails,) and offered to fuzz it or hex it immediately upon upload.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving data cleansing issues -- I have realized benefits because it saves me time, makes my work much less intensive, and flows nicely. At my company, we struggle a fair bit with data continuity, it's nice to always have a log of what I have done in the prep process step-by-step in order to re-invent it.It would be neat if it had a connector directly into Business Intelligence Tools, like PowerBI or Tableau. It might also be neat to be able to open the data in browser the way that SmartSheets does. I realize it is available as part of Google Cloud Prep, but I do not have access to that as an individual in my company. I truly need something external.

  ### 43. Great product to make transform quickly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roman V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Accordingly to specific our company, we worked with a lot of ETL's tools, include Trifacta.
The best features that we like here:
1) you can try to create transformation through small sample of data in 15 minutes
2) Trifacta will suggest best joins/unions/split, etc
3) After you get result you can easily replace data source and it will work

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

It's not clear about how some functions operating, documentation is massive and very unclear.
High price, that's why we choose a different vendor in the end

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

For sure for everyone who is looking classic etl tool - it's very good to use, the question every time should be about cost only, the product is very good and intuitive.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prepare transformations flow, from 0 till result, that can be shown to customer/non-technical user. It was helpful to test some different ways to work with customers.

  ### 44. Good tool for data preparation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

* easiness of complex data transformations
* smart suggestions that really help
* working with regex \ wrangle - is amazingly easy and fast
* parsing long natural language texts
* I like property grid

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

* it is not always easy to find functions
* long onboarding with no suggestions in the UI
* some operations require too many mouse clicks, could be made more optimal

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

data cleaning and transformation, especially with lots of natural language data, it is super-easy to upload csv files and make all transforms that you need

  ### 45. Exactly what we needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

The advanced text manipulation tools and the almost turing completeness

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

while a great tool, the user story to go from data exploration to production could use additional development

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

For data exploration or munging, for data prep where you have a variety of inbound or unknown formats trifacta is worlds easier than programming or excel manipulation. Also for designing data workflows its just dead simple to find your ideal flow via trifacta and let that inform your code path.

If you are authoring a fresh data visualization and are tired of wrestling with the clunky interface they provide this tool is useful to build your insights directly into the data and then just use the viz tool to surface the results to the end user.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data exploration and standardization, especially for similar outbound formats with varying inbound formats. Also as a stellar prep tool to feed to our data visualization platform.

  ### 46. Integrating siloed static excel sheets as a non-engineer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily T. | Program Launch Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I appreciate that, although Trifacta requires some time to get to know it is user friendly to people who do not code as a profession. It has helped me to become comfortable with simple coding.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I dislike the resample option. You are unable to see your entire dataset in trifacta and when looking at the summary of your columns often options are left unseen because they do not appear in your sample.

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

There are a lot of short cuts to making Trifacta work for you. Be sure to check out their new updates via email

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing together static excel docs

  ### 47. Easy Data preparations using Dataprep

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michiel M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

In general I like the easiness of preparing data.
Formatting, Transforming or calculating data has never been easier.
Without even knowing programming languages, you are able to set up data transformations.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

I miss some connectors on Google Cloud platform for Dataprep.
Seeing the new updates, I believe there is being a lot of effort done on it at the moment

**Recommendations to others considering Alteryx Designer Cloud:**

It's a nice and easy tool to do quick data prepartions

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use Trifacta to automatically process data which end up in automatic generated reports.
I build such reports for Operations, Finance, Sales and the Human Resources department.

  ### 48. Excellent ETL tool for non-programmers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juri S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Dataprep has a great user interface that makes it easy to inspect the data and to transform it. Pipelines are easy to set up and to understand thanks to the Flows UI. Easy to use for everyone, no programming skills needed. I also like the fact that pipelines are reusable and can be invoked via an API.

**What do you dislike about Alteryx Designer Cloud?**

Working with dates and international date formats in Dataprep is still a nightmare, e.g. if you want to convert date formats or check whether a date format is correct. I wish they used ISO date formats as a standard. Also, working with and switching between multiple accounts (on Google Cloud) is not well supported.

**What problems is Alteryx Designer Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Build and run reusable and scalable ETL pipelines within a very short time to ingest data into BigQuery. Make data prepping accessible to non-programmers.

  ### 49. Can data prep be any easier!
