**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

NX CAD provides an advanced set of tools for product design, modeling, and simulation, all integrated into one platform. **What do you like best about Designcenter?**

I rely on Siemens NX CAD for developing complex product designs, especially for injection-molded plastic parts. The Molded Part Design application has significantly improved our manufacturability testing reducing both design time and production costs. Additionally, NX CAD’s surface modeling capabilities allow me to create intricate shapes with ease, optimizing my workflow and enhancing the quality of our products. The seamless integration of parametric and direct modeling is another standout feature, making design iterations much faster and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

While NX CAD is incredibly powerful, it does have a steep learning curve, especially for new users unfamiliar with its extensive feature set. Also, to import the latest STEP standard files, we had to have tokens limiting exchange of design files through the industry. It was also difficult to understand which applications were available in the base product and which required additional tokens. Additionally, licensing costs are relatively high, which could become a barrier later.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had some problems with manufacturability for injection molding, for which NX CAD has been highly reliable with the Molded Design Part application. The advanced surface modelling tools are very powerful and combined with the direct modelling saves a lot of time and effort.

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

NX CAD is a design software with a little know feature called Auto Constraint Optimization, which automatically optimizes the quality of parts and assemblies through numerical optimization techniques, thanks to features, the quality of our products is improved.

In addition, the use of NX CAD has also made us more competitive by allowing us to produce higher quality and better designed products in less time.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

NX CAD has a steep learning curve, learning to use this program takes time and additional resources.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NX CAD gives us the ability to take a design all the way to production, as it goes through the program through different stages and becomes a production with very few changes. It also allows us to eliminate errors and save time, since it also allows us to test the designs before executing them.

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

It is incredibly powerful once you take the time to become familiar with it. After using Solid Edge and SolidWorks for years, NX  has a lot of features the others don't. I love the new updates they've made in 2412 and the ones coming out in 2506. NX CAD is constantly trying to improve their product, taking customer feedback, and making a better product every update. I couldn't recommend it more.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

The learning curve can be a little steep for those who have been using other CAD softwares for years, but there is always a team available to help walk you through what you need to do.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping the collaboration internally between design and engineering, as well as external collaboration with our partners on the programs. They all use NX, so us switching to it will make it seem less as we collaborate on our projects.

NX CAD is a highly versatile design program, it has allowed us to carry out complex projects in an easier way, and its interface is intuitive, so it always adapts to our needs.

In addition, the constant innovation and development of new tools and functions by NX CAD developers keep us up to date with the latest technological trends in the field of architecture.

Most of our employees need training to learn how to use NX CAD, so it is necessary to have some time before using it.

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

NX CAD has completely changed my design experience. I like how its interface is so intuitive to get around complicated projects. Seamless data management is essential for collaboration, so the integration with software such as Teamcenter is achieved. Its advanced features of simulation and parametric modeling save you tons of time and allows us to validate the designs before moving to the production. The outcome of this has been much more accurate and much more efficient for our project.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

The only thing I wish was different with NX CAD is that it has a pretty long learning curve especially for greenhorn engineers. It can initially be quite an avalanche of information to process hence making the onboarding of new team members a difficult task. Further, the software may consume a lot of space on the pc and hence slow computers hinder productivity. I have also learnt to deal with odd bugs that require fixing and this is especially worse when the time is tight.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NX CAD solves many problems which are related to product design. From modeling to simulation we can also use it to test our designs before getting to the production phase. This capability has easily and greatly helped in minimizing the number of revisions we require hence saving time and other resources. Its integration tools provide ways with which members of a team can be put on to the same platform, thus helping to improve outcomes of projects.

NX is one of the best software packages you can use for solid modeling, surfacing, or any of your CAD needs. With additional partners to have an end to end software solution.

The weakest part of NX is their drafting package, which isn't bad but there are easier options, such as their cheaper sibling software, Solid Edge.

We are creating complex aerospace surfaces and NX has been awesome for helping create these complex shapes.

I like that it is a full suite of tools not just CAD anymore. Simcenter, Anaylsis, etc.

How complicated and spool up time for new users. Also I'd love more process driven instructions. Maybe allowing companies to create work instructions within NX.

not enough options now the last question. purpose for NX CAD. We use CAD to digitize 2D drawings and run Design to Mantainence of product.

I love the synchronous modeling, sketching, and drafting. I've been an NX driver for 20+ years and am a little biased. NX feels like home to me. It makes sense. It's easy to use and reliable.

Some of the new selection features make it harder to get information. The less clicks, the better.

NX does everything I need it to do, and it integrates well with PLM.

The sketching for NX is not as smooth of a process as it is in SolidWorks or other similar CAD softwares.

NX has allowed me to develop new tools for a manufacturing environment and to model parts using the old tools modeled in CAD.

It's user friendly, has a lot of features,  and it's always getting more user friendly with more features with each upgrade. The upgrades are actually useful.

Sometimes it's difficult to find commands or learn to use some commands without training. The intuitive-ness could be improved.

They are making the cad more intuitive, and contain more functionality, albeit more complex.

Being able to model a part then the go directly to manufacturing and start placing Milling operation on it.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

What I dislike the most is the loss of some legacy operations that made modeling easier. For example, join curves, the removal of the color selection filter, and basic curves.

being able to model fixtures for parts, ease of fixing bad surface data from 3rd party software (sub-D from Alias), and use part parameters to modify parts.

I like the simplicity to tool navigation and easy to find the work benches that you need for the right job.

The import of CAD models and aligning them to the right customized objects in Teamcenter could use a little work to help the user identify the subclass of objects on import for each component.

Once a user is more experienced in the program it opens many doors to more functionality that is not as obvious to a newer user

There is a more steep learning curve than other 3D modeling software

Robust 3D modeling tool, but I have also used NX Pre/Post for FEA extensively.  Also I use NXOpen with python to automate modeling and data extraction

Using NX CAD makes designing any component easy. As a CFD engineer, NX is also great to transfer geometries into STAR-CCM+ in its native format, or directly through CAD-exchange.

The learning curve for NX is fairly high, even for users with experience on other mainstream CAD software.

NX solves a large part of cleaning and preparing CAD for CFD analyses.
