  ### 1. "All-in-one solution for CAD/CAM/CAE"

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Solid Edge comes with a number of solutions and tools for design and production needs.  We can also get add-on features if needed.  There are different packages available as per needs.
Working on Solid Edge 2D drawings is quite easy and 3D assembly too is simple if you are familiar with different commands, which can be simply mastered with practice and by exploring software in your free time.
Simulation and analysis tool also works fine and helps you with your design calculation.
Working on different parts of same project from different locations is also possible with solid edge which is a nice feature.
We can also share the drawings and designs in other formats like .dxf, .dwg, .stp and also convert to 2D and 3D pdf.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

This is a great tool but comes with a price that is a bit on the higher side as compared to other software.  Another problem is that it needs a higher PC configuration like a faster CPU, higher RAM, and Graphics card if you're working on large assemblies with more than 10000 parts.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Works great for me in designing parts and creating their production drawings which include details like cutting, bending, punching, and welding.  These parts can be directly transported to the customer's location and assembled there without any problems as we have already assembled them in software thus saving us precious time and manpower cost.

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Am using Solid Edge for three years, Solid Edhe has a user-friendly interface, and it is very easy to learn. It has advanced 3D modeling tools that help us to make more precise product designs easily. The best thing I found is it has advanced simulation and analysis tools that help us to perform various load tests and analyses accurately. Solid edge also has many tools in the sheet metal design part, which has unique features allowing us to make complex sheet metal designs. It has the best assembly tools for our parts mechanisms easily and also checks collision detection and interference.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

It requires a high-end graphics card and also powerful ram; otherwise, performing some operation looks slow, and hanging problems occur. Rendering options in solid edge are not up to the mark. Also, I found difficulty in creating hole and patterns in cylindrical faces. Solid edge is expensive compared to other modeling software available in the market.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a mechanical design engineer, I used to design various components of machinery such as gear, shaft, bearing, frame, cam etc using Solid Edge. Using its simulation and analysis tools, we perform all the load tests and check the smooth functioning of all the mechanisms in that machinery. With that, accurate analyzing results are very helpful in creating our load-handling parts without any failures. Using its high-end modeling tools, I can able to design cam and spring accurately for our project and also I can be able to perform collision detection tests and interference checkings.

I like the synchronous modeling and Keyshot rendering feature, which are unique and also highly reliable while working. In Solid Edge, 3D modeling is quite easy and adaptive. Also, in the latest V 2023, its user interface is quite improved, which I liked.

It is still evolving and adding features which sometimes limits the capabilities of what can we do at certain point in designing some of the components. I would love to see more improvements in detailing of some of the commands like simulation, modeling etc.

It is has good user interface for  3D and 2D enviornment. Along with CAD designing it is excellent in machine animation, stress & Displace analysis.

The pattern command is but difficult one has to go through tutorials for couple of time. Also when it comes to handle large assembly files then it faces some issue to take inputs.

It is good CAD software used in new product development or modification in lateral stages. Early professional candidate can also able to use the tool efficently as its interface is good.

Ii is very simple tool to design product, fixtures, gauges, stamping and punching tools. I like surfacing functions due to much more easier job than CATIA.

When I do the assembly there is nôt option to import step file directly.

When i make reverse engineering and overlaps between old and new release of product then I can see changes. Also it Heľpa mé with stress simulátor of forces which are ressing to the punching tool.

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

SOLID EDGE is software that is continually updated by its developers; I particularly appreciate the latest versions starting from 2017. Its unique modeling method, "SYNCHRONOUS" and "ORDERED," is not available in other software. The user-friendly commands in the sketching mode, like line, circle, and pattern, are some of the features I appreciate. Switching between "SYNCHRONOUS" and "ORDERED" modeling modes in a single model is a great feature. Overall, it is good software for designers.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Designers used to the SolidWorks interface may find SOLID EDGE challenging, as it requires more steps to perform a single command which increases the time needed to complete a modeling job. Additionally, the simulation tool in SOLID EDGE does not have a proper meshing system, as SolidWorks has. The pricing of SOLID EDGE is also higher than other available software. However, it can be a good option for beginners to learn.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I currently use software to solve business problems such as sketching, modeling, drafting, detailing, simulation, and product design analysis. I have found that the graphics of the model images produced by this software are superior to those of other software, and the meshing timing in the FEA tool is faster. Additionally, the drafting interface is better than other modeling software, though not as good as AutoCAD. Overall, I believe this software is ideal for beginners and small industries.

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

I use Solid Edge to design and develop mechanical components and telecommunications equipment systems. I have to do electrical design for these purposes, and Solid Edge allows me to do electrical design very efficiently. I use Solid Edge software to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings of electrical components. For these purposes, this tool's UI is handy for me. I also like the ability of this tool to do electrical design.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

The FEM Tool is inadequate, and the process of converting Inventor Files to other FEM Software was previously challenging. I can not customize all the tools according to my need in this software.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a mechanical design engineer in the telecommunications industry,  I use Solid Edge for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for telecommunications equipment and other infrastructure. I use Solid Edge software to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings of these components and systems and work closely with other engineers and designers to ensure the final product meets industry standards and customer requirements. They would also be responsible for testing and evaluating the performance of the designs.

I enjoy the advanced functionalities of this tool. The advanced functionality of this product is synchronous technologies, sheet metal designs, and kinematics simulations. These advanced capabilities enable me to make precise models and designs of mechanical products. By providing a wide range of visual options for viewing designs, Solid Edge allows for better understanding and communication of designs.

However, despite Solid Edge's good UI, I noticed some potential issues with it. It costs a lot of money to buy this tool. The number of add-ons available from third parties is minimal. Importing and exporting certain file formats is difficult in Solid Edge because certain file formats aren't supported.

It is a tool that I use as an analyst for sheet metal designs. I also use it for making detailed 3D models of the product. For the purpose of simulation, this tool is capable.

Developed by Siemens, this software tool provides a comprehensive set of features for Electrical Design, Data Management, Manufacturing, Validation & Simulation, and Collaboration. The seamless integration of these different tools within Solid Edge allows for a more efficient workflow and less need to switch between different software programs.

I have had a generally positive experience with this software tool. However, I did encounter some awkwardness with basic features and the user interface. Additionally, I met some minor issues when using it for CAE simulations.

Overall good, but switching between projects is slow. Maybe it varies from machine to machine, but I had the same issue with mine. The cost of solid edge is little bit high.

I am a structural design engineer and found the following good things in this software.
*The user interface of this software is excellent.
*Any dimension in 2D can be given geometric tolerances and symbols.
*Using this software, we can open .stp files and translate them into step files.
*Cross-sections and detailed views can also be readily added.
*Making threads doesn't need making holes.

It is impossible to directly make a hole in the curved and cylindrical surface. 
To do this, we must first design a plane, after which we can create holes.
The extruded components won't be altered if you make a drawing in synchronous mode, extrude it, and then change the design afterward.

I appreciate that using this software; I can create 3D models, 2D drawings, and CAE of the models in one tool. Compared to AutoCAD, I need to spend less time on 2D drawings of the models in Solid Edge. In Solid Edge, it is possible in 2D and drafting to assign geometric tolerances and symbols to any dimension. In this software, 2D drawings can be adjusted after their conversion into 3D models.

Compared with other software like SolidWorks, Solid Edge has a difficult integration process with Teamcenter. Pattern command in the Solid Edge is complex. I have to spend huge time creating holes in a curved surface.

4. A 2D drawing can be modified after a 3D drawing has been converted to 2D. Detailed views and cross-sections can also be added.

This software is beneficial in terms of saving time as well as resources and money. Because of its easy interface, we can create models or drawing easily. Previously, I used this software in my previous role but currently, I am not using this software.

Eventually, you can kind of do what you want.  I 8 years it will have features that are now in SolidWorks.

Assembly patterns.  Assembly exploded views.  Multibody design in part files. Top down design.  Updating linked parts.

I can do my work for the most part, it just takes longer than I can do the same thing is SolidWorks.

Solid Edge is an excellent tool for product engineering developed by simens. The modeling of products becomes very easy by using this tool. The user interface of this tool is quite user-friendly, and this tool is developed by simens, so it is pretty similar to other tools like solid works. It makes 2D drawing very easy. We use this tool for various purposes like simulation, electrical design, 3D modeling, and 2D drawing, and for these purposes, this tool is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

The simulation feature of this tool is not suitable for thermal simulation because the thermal simulation of the product in this tool takes a good amount of time. With another tool, we can do thermal simulation in a short span of time. This tool is also not good for fluid simulation, but this is good for structural simulation.

Its feature related to 2D drawing, 3D modeling, and structural engineering is quite impressive compared to other tools. Majorly I used it for 2D drawing and 3D modeling.

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

I have been working in the industry for more than 2 years, I had been using a lot of software, but this is a great tool to get the job done. It will help me to make different modeling and drawing easily. I like its user interface, ability to make customizable commands, integrate another model easily, make 3D models directly from scratch, and many more. Its updated version is very good as compared to its previous versions.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Needs a strong pc (with a good processor, ram more than 8 GB, and graphics) for good performance, because in a normal pc it legs huge. Some options in its user-interface are very awkward and do not work properly.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem-related to three-dimensional product modeling, and 2D-drawing are solved using this software. It can be used for the simulation of small models, but in my case, it is not helpful because I make complex models, and it takes huge time with complex models.

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

I like almost all the features of the Solid Edge software. I like its user interface, ability of this tool to make three-D models directly, the easy way of making two-D drawings, and the features like the simulation of the model. It is pretty easy for an engineer to do structural engineering and modeling of the models in a single tool.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

The simulation or structural engineering feature of this tool is not good because it works well when we do structural engineering of the simple model, but if we do structural engineering of the complex model, then it does not work properly. So, it is recommended only for modeling but not for simulation.

Solid Edge solves the problems of doing solid modeling, creating drawings of the views of the model, simulation of simple models, etc. Its electrical design feature is also impressive.

As a design engineer, I use Solid Edge for the purpose of 3D modeling of electronic products related to home equipments. During using this tool, I like the arrangement of options in this tool. Because of the easy arrangement, we can navigate options very easily. I like the ability of this tool to design electric circuits.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

For smooth operation, we have to use a strong pc. PC must contain a minimum of 8GB of ram. Because pc with low ram and specification, solid edge lags, so we have to spend a lot of time.

It solves problems related to 3D modeling and electronic design. Using this tool, we can do 3D modeling and electronic design in less time than other tools. Because of its easy UI more than one person from my team can work on the same project.

Solid Edge is a powerful and robust solid modeling software designed to quickly and easily create 3D models. It is fast, but it can also be quite complex if you want to access its full potential. Solid Edge's learning curve is not steep, so you can pick up the basics quickly. If in doubt, it would be best to learn on more complex projects such as external single-axis axis designs using its very strong multi-axis functionality.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Solid Edge software is not for complex assemblies. It is known to crash if any feature beyond basic assembly comes. The program handles complex assemblies and parts well, but legs sometimes with alternate assemblies. Solid edge also allows us to manipulate the parts library quickly and we can do revisions easily.

It majorly solves our solid modeling problems. Three-dimensional or 3D solid modeling of the products can be done easily and quickly with this CAD package.

As Solid Edge having cloud ready design, so it will require high speed of internet to access it's full flag capabilities, which sometimes not possible in rural areas.
