And the studio sound feature makes all my audio sound professionally recorded, even if the recording circumstances were less than perfect. I'd like to one-click remove filler words so that they don't show up in the live captions but not have it cut up my video file. I have an old movie from before we rebranded to new name and when I switch to the new name the image jumps and it looks bad. I wish there was a simple solution for that. Another thing I would love to be made simpler is when adding sound / music at the start of the video or the end. It is super complicated and it doesn't remember the audio files I used before. It is very hit and miss and often makes the sound worse. - I would like to be able to easily export the separate files of an audio edit, so that I can edit it into whatever audio program I choose. - integration with Audacity (ie, being able to export to edit in Audacity) would be great - programs like Klap, Opus Clip and Kapwing offer amazing AI options for grabbing highlight clips. Edits made to the stranscript are not reflected in the timeline when I open it up to make fine-tune edits 2. the playhead sometimes doesn't line up with the transcript when the audio is being played 3. words are ocassionally macthed up with the wrong bit of the waveform (so even though the transcript is correct its not in sync with the playhead and deleting an "um" in text actually deletes a word I wanted to keep. 4. the export options to protools and audition do not create an easily useable multitrack session, poor integration with these platforms **What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?** The integration of transcription and editing into the same platform allows me to get through a first edit/major cutdown of an interview much faster than if I was just in audition or ptotools as it allowsme to see retakes in text rather than having to just hear them as I play through the waveform. It also allows me to find and identify sections of an interview just by scroling and reading without having to listen through an entire audio file over and eover again. ### 12. It really has a low barrier of entry and can be picked up fairly quickly. The visual script editing makes streamlining what someone was trying to say much easier and not having to fuss about the back end things is great. Love when things just magically work. **What do you dislike about Descript?** The constant updates are a deturrant for progress. Theres lots of times the update disrupt one thing or another. Never the same issues twice, sometimes all brand new ones. At times I feel the app struggles in how it handles files - this is in comparison to using apps like Audacity or Adobe Audition. The app feels sluggish and creates uneccesary errors (un usability, not in final exicution) **What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?** Descript has made the time in editing much quicker. I have been able to go from recorded ep to rough edit in 1hr and final edit in less than a day. There have been times Desecript has taken longer but thats more to the sluggishness of the app. But I was able to use Descript despite those issues to fix audio and some video, align things and edit one master timeline. My college had a university subscription to Grammarly. I wonder if Descript has any partnerships that offer discounts or university-wide subscription models with educational institutions.
