What I like most about Descript is that it makes editing so easy. I mean, the text editing is a game changer. Instead of using complicated timelines, you can simply edit the text and it will automatically change the video or audio. It’s really time-saving, especially if you have a podcast or talking videos. I also like the features that use AI, such as removing filler words and enhancing the quality of the audio. The transcription is fast and accurate most of the time, and everything is in one place. I'm a fan of the recording feature and all of the effects it provides. The suggestions, including translation, are really cool features. The effects and suggestions are really quickly present inside the app, making it very easy to use. Whether I want to apply a particular effect or do some rough cuts for my podcast, it's all accessible from a simple drop-down. What do you dislike about Descript? I think probably on the web platform, maybe. So, you know, we're trying to record some stuff. Right? So I can't move the camera around. Think that's a big it's a little turn off. And then the camera is also not visible if I switch, you know, from the web to any other app on the web. So I think that is a little blocker as such. I use Descript to create tutorial videos for our SaaS platform and I appreciate how easy it is to get started, especially for simple projects. The AI voiceover feature is really helpful, as it generates voiceovers directly from text. I also like that I can create my own AI speaker based on my own voice, which brings the whole project to life and adds a personal touch. The initial setup of Descript was very easy as well. Editing is not as simple as I'd hope – things are hidden and the timeline is locked so it's not so easy to make edits to pause things or zoom in. The Overdub and Studio Sound features save me a lot of time, and the interface is clean and easy to learn. I typically use DaVinci Resolve, but I wanted to find something to make social media video development quicker. The AI (Underlord) was easy to use. I didn't notice the manual features at first, which is on me and caused issues, but once I started messing around with them, it was good. I ran into a few stumbling blocks using Underlord, but found all the manual elements after (thanks to customer service). Underlord will eat all of your credits...rapidly, so use them sparingly.
