## Descope Reviews
 ### 1. Game-Changing WYSIWYG Auth Flows with Integrations That Scale

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishesh B. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope’s WYSIWYG flows are a game changer. They make authentication flows easy to build and scale, even for millions of customers. The wide range of integrations and connectors covers pretty much everything, and it comes at a very affordable rate for startups and enterprises alike.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

The dashboards and audit logging could be improved; they sometimes feel non-intuitive to work with.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve spent a lot of time using Self Service SSO, which has helped us onboard customers by handling authentication so we can focus on what’s important. The support is genuinely excellent and makes sure our needs are taken care of, which lets us stay focused on the important stuff.

 ### 2. Works great for our multi-tenant B2B auth needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arun K. | Lead Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope has been a great fit for our multi-tenant B2B authentication needs — we use it for social login and SSO, multi-tenant user management, and RBAC policies. Flows have also been genuinely helpful for us: our login page is powered through a Flow, and even without heavy customization it’s been easy to make quick changes and iterate without much engineering effort. The overall experience has been seamless in production so far, and the platform has been consistently available. The docs are detailed and typically sufficient to self-serve, and the team is very responsive whenever we have questions or need help. We also like how Access Keys and unified JWTs work seamlessly with Flows and RBAC, making it easy to handle different identity types (including test users) consistently.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

We ran into a couple of rough edges while setting things up — particularly around Microsoft social login and fine-grained whitelabeling options for the Flow-based hosted login page. That said, the Descope team was proactive and provided timely support to help us resolve these at the earliest, and we haven’t had major issues beyond that.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Descope as the authentication provider for our B2B application, primarily using Flows for login, social and SSO authentication, and multi-tenant user management with RBAC policies. We also use Access Keys and a unified JWT approach across access keys, real users, and test users, which makes protected flows and RBAC enforcement consistent across all identity types. Overall, Descope helped us avoid building and maintaining authentication in-house, enabled us to ship quickly, and gives us flexibility to evolve the login experience as our product and enterprise needs grow.

 ### 3. Intuitive, Flexible, and Supportive—Descope Shows Us A Promising Future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua M. | Manager, Developer Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope is more approachable and intuitive than a lot of other products we evaluated. Some seemed really good on their website, but the experience didn't hold up. Descope was the one that really clicked when we started trying to fit it to our organizational needs. Descope's sales engagement was very helpful in making us comfortable that their multi-tenant solution would meet our complex needs as a multi-tenant SaaS application with a variety of products to unify under one identity system. We are in the early stages of integrating Descope into our applications, but so far it seems very straightforward for a typical web app. Unfortunately for us, we need to bring our code up to standard to really take advantage of Descope's features. We look forward to using the power of their auth flows to enhance our users' sign on experience and centralize our identity management across products.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

While auth flows are very powerful, it's a bit difficult to reconcile in your mind how their flows, which orchestrate the entire sign on experience, translate into standard OIDC handoffs. It's easy to consume a flow logically, but understanding how to plug in a more generic auth provider flow into their custom flows still is muddy to me. Thankfully, their onboarding support has been very hands-on and responsive as we encounter questions like this. Also, as a .NET shop, their SDK for .NET is needing work to be production ready. We are still deciding whether to implement our own or work with Descope to improve theirs. I believe some of their other SDKs are more mature. Fortunately, their API is easy enough to work with, and our initial attempts at coding our own shows promise.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main product uses a proprietary auth system, and we are building or acquiring other products that have their own disparate auth, too. As we try to build a multi-product application suite, we clearly need a unified customer identity experience, and we don't have the capacity or expertise to build it ourselve. We need an identity partner that can provide us the powerful SSO auth flows without us needing to be auth experts. We need to focus on our business and let Descope take care of the auth and identity management. Descope has been great to work with and has already taken our feedback to improve their product.

 ### 4. Effortless Login and Account Management, Seamless User Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahsan Y. | Customer Account Manager, Legal Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

What I like best about Descope is how simple it makes logging in and managing accounts. I love that it handles security without me having to worry about all the complicated backend stuff. What’s most helpful is how fast and easy it is to set up, and the upsides are that my users have a smooth experience, and I can focus on building features instead of dealing with authentication headaches.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

The primary drawback of Descope is that, despite its robust capabilities, certain advanced features require time to thoroughly grasp and implement. While the documentation is generally helpful, there are times when I need to experiment or contact support to achieve the precise results I’m aiming for. The most challenging aspect tends to be handling edge cases or customizations not addressed in the standard guides, which can cause minor delays in the implementation process.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope addresses the challenge of creating secure and adaptable authentication systems without the need to build them from the ground up. It manages features such as passwordless login, multi-factor authentication, and social logins in a manner that is both dependable and straightforward to integrate. This has been beneficial for me, as it saves development time, minimizes potential security risks, and provides my users with a smooth, seamless login experience. As a result, I am able to concentrate more on developing new features instead of spending time managing authentication.

 ### 5. A Secure Authentication that’s fast to set up and Keeps users happy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy E. | Project manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

A Secure Authentication that’s fast to set up and Keeps users happy.I’m genuinely impressed by how Descope’s no-code flow editor has streamlined our authentication process. As a lead developer for our telehealth startup, setting up secure email OTPs and Google SSO for our web and mobile apps was so straightforward I had it running in just a couple of days, something that would have dragged on for weeks with other tools. The pre-built widgets fit perfectly with our Angular frontend, and the detailed error logs helped us spot a session timeout issue during our last stress test. Honestly, it has made our small team look like authentication pros without needing a cybersecurity degree.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Not much to complain about, but integrating with our existing user database took some trial and error, mainly because our legacy table had inconsistent email formats that tripped up the initial sync. The docs are great for standard setups, but more step-by-step guides for quirky edge cases like ours would’ve saved us a headache. Also, the pricing is fair, but scaling to higher user volumes felt a bit costly for our startup budget.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope has been a lifesaver for managing secure user authentication while keeping our platform compliant with HIPAA regulations. We used to cobble together open-source authentication libraries that were a nightmare to maintain and left us paranoid about security gaps. Descope’s plug and play solution handles everything, passwordless logins, MFA, audit trails, so we are not constantly patching holes. Since rolling it out, our user onboarding completion rate is up 29%, and login related support tickets are down nearly half because the process is so smooth. It has also freed our dev team to focus on core features like video consults, boosting user retention by 15% this year. Descope has let us deliver a polished, secure experience without sinking our resources into authentication grunt work.

 ### 6. Easy to Implement, Smooth Descope Authentication Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando F. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

It was very easy to use and implement. After the initial configuration, integrating additional applications with Descope authentication was straightforward and required little effort.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like—Descope is good overall.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have multiple in-house applications, and we didn’t have a solid solution for centralized authentication and authorization. Descope made that possible for us.

 ### 7. Incredibly Easy to Set Up, Prototype, and Productionize

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian T. | Senior Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Incredibly easy to set up, prototype, and productionize

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

We have not ran into any blockers or issues. Their team and product is awesome

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi tenant auth - we didn't have to build complex flows or MCP oauth thanks to them

 ### 8. Clear Cluster & Tenant Control with Powerful Flows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Clear cluster and tenant control, flows.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Some complexity for SSO/Auth configuration.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The entire provisioning, auth, design for login, multi tenant and M2M & apps, custom attributes and RBAC - now we just need to manipulate auth provider in code, everything else done in almost zero effort.

 ### 9. Effortless Setup, Reliable for Multi-Tenancy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lior T.

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Descope?**

I really like Descope for the 'out of the box impersonation' feature. It lets us see the app through the eyes of our customers and spot bugs and issues fast. I also appreciate that everything worked fine for us and the initial setup was very easy, making the experience smooth and satisfying.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Nothing

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope provides a reliable solution for authorization, user management, and multi-tenancy. It also offers out-of-the-box impersonation, allowing me to see the app through customers' eyes to quickly spot bugs and issues.

 ### 10. Simple, fast, reliable Auth!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akhil K. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Loved the entire experience with descope. It was super easy to get started, they have support for every type of auth you might require, and SDKs to use this authentication in the backend as well. But the best thing about Descope is their customer support - they are incredibly helpful and responsive, and even offered to get on Zoom calls to help me debug some of my issues (and I'm on their free tier!)

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Hard for me to find things I dislike about Descope, even if I did, it would just be nit picking.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling all auth and user identities, descope is our source of truth for all things users/ tenant related.

 ### 11. Great product! Easy to setup & easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel R. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

We transitioned to Descope from in-house authentication and that was one of our best decisions! No more bugs with authentication and role management, each new auth flow takes minutes to make using their flow builder. Also their slack community is great! They answer every question (even the dumb ones 😅)

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

1 thing that was missing for me was the session control, we needed this for our per user business model so users won't use 1 paid seat for their whole team, but we transition to a different business model so it irrelevant.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to use and powerful authentication!

 ### 12. Effortless, Secure, and Dev-Friendly Authentication at Last

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sagi H. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

1. Customers can roll out SSO on their own—no Customer Success or Solutions Engineering support required.
2. Sophisticated authentication flows can be designed on the fly, with zero lift from the R&D team.
3. Comprehensive auditing and alerting are built-in and ready to go.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

A small hurdle was generating PDF versions of the SSO guides that kept their dynamic details intact, so customers could forward them to their internal IdP admins—who don’t have platform access—letting those teams handle the setup on their own.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope removes the heavy lifting of building and maintaining authentication by giving us an all-in-one, passwordless-ready platform for SSO, MFA, risk checks, and customizable login flows. That means our engineers focus on core features instead of auth code, our security team gains unified auditing and real-time alerts, Customer Success spends less time hand-holding SSO setups because customers can self-serve, and users enjoy friction-free sign-ins—ultimately accelerating releases, tightening security, and slashing support tickets in one move.

 ### 13. Great experience with Descope

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

I most liked their intuitive UI, which translates complex auth flows into visual components. This allowed us to get setup very quickly. Their customer support was fast and well informed, helping us choose the plan that best fitted our use-case. The flexibity of their tools was also very important and integrated with our other existing auth tools.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Minor issue,. but would be great to have a way to directly manage my plan and usage directly on the Descope console, currently I can't easily get info on my plan except by contacting support.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope help our product integrate with Microsoft as an identity provider. Descope handle the multi-tenant token validationa and other Microsoft requirement and provided us with a simple interface to integrate with our existing auth tools.

 ### 14. Easy to use, hassle-free auth integration experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heydad H. | R&D team leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Easy to use as a developer, supports many authentication and authorization types, customizable, has a very clear guide for each IdP on how to integrate with it - very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

A bit harder to integrate with older frameworks - like Laravel for us, but still worked well.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Until using Descope, we only offered authentication by standalone email and password. As we grew and started addressing enterprise-level customers, we needed to offer SSO as an authentication method but didn't have the scale to implement it on our own, and we didn't want to re-invent the wheel.

 ### 15. Plug and play authentication and authorization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

That I have a vendor I can trust to take care everything related to authentication and authorization for in the product I’m building. There’s no need to invent the wheel in this areas and develop it by yourself. With Descope I do it easily while I know I'm leveraging the best practices in this field

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

If I have to find something it would be the auth flows which might be a little bit complex

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have out of the box authentication and authorization solution without the need of developing anything of your own.

 ### 16. Fully featured IAM Solution for Enterprise SaaS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope has been an ideal fit for Aptly’s identity and access management. Its login flows builder made implementation flexible and smooth, allowing us to integrate SSO, SCIM, and directory sync without heavy engineering effort. The flexibility to support multiple authentication methods (passwordless, social, MFA, etc.) ensures that our clients have the capabilites that enterprise customers expect. Additionally, Descope’s team has been highly responsive and supportive, making the implementation a very good experience.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

There’s little to dislike but if I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be ensuring all documentation is up to date (understabdably difficult when featue release quickly) and expanding documentation with more advanced implementation examples.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope provides a single solution for identify and access management (IAM) with advanced features that enterprise clients like those of Aptly expect such as SCIM integration/directory sync, and detailed audit trails.

Leveraging Descope reduced burden on our engineering team and enabled features that would have otherwise taken us much mroe time and effort to implement, namely fine grained authorization (FGA).

 ### 17. Solid Authentication Solution for Modern Apps

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope offers exceptional ease of use with reliable authentication solutions that integrate seamlessly into our applications. The platform provides smooth integrations, excellent documentation, and a well-designed interface that makes implementation straightforward for developers.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

While mostly satisfactory, there's occasional complexity during initial setup and configuration. Better pre-built templates for common use cases would streamline the onboarding process further.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope effectively solves our authentication and access management challenges by providing a comprehensive, modern solution. This has eliminated the complexity of managing multiple authentication providers, reduced security vulnerabilities, and streamlined our developer workflows significantly.

 ### 18. Super customizable, super easy auth solution with amazing support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope has been a great experience so far. The UI is super easy to use, and it’s honestly one of the most customizable tools I’ve worked with. Whether you're a developer or more into no-code, it just works. Setting up sign-up and login flows feels more like building with automation tools than coding an auth system from scratch, which is exactly what we needed.

One thing I really appreciate is the support. The community is active, and the Descope team actually responds quickly and helps you out—even if you're not on some huge enterprise plan. We ran into a few tricky implementation issues and they were right there to guide us through it.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

If I had to nitpick, I’d say the naming and terminology can be a little different from what you might be used to with other platforms. It took a bit of figuring out at the beginning, especially around access keys. But once you get it, it’s smooth.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a modular authentication solution that could be used to consolidate authentication experience across multiple application. Furthermore we were interested in reducing our security risk by not storing user passwords. Finally we were interested in easy implementation of social login with g-suite and microsoft to make the login experience more seamless for our end users.

 ### 19. Descope Delivers an Exceptional Product with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope offers a cutting-edge identity management solution that stands out for both its innovation and simplicity. The team is exceptionally knowledgeable, collaborative, and always willing to support new and creative use cases. They consistently go above and beyond to make complex authentication flows seamless for end users.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

As with any cutting-edge platform, there can occasionally be features still in development. That said, the Descope team is incredibly responsive and committed to their customers—they listen, adapt quickly, and consistently work to deliver solutions that meet real-world needs.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope solves our need for modern Identity and Access Management by enabling a fully passwordless authentication experience. It provides a seamless and secure login flow across multiple platforms, helping us deliver both strong security and a frictionless user experience.

 ### 20. Ease of integration, very good docs, great support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Regev A. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

I was able to integrate my app (next.js + nest.js) 10x faster and much more stable than auth0
documentation included mostly up to date examples for my tech stack

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

linkedin integration documentation was not up to date (they updated the docs since though)
UI components customization is good but I'd be happy to see this gives more flexibility

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope helps me offload the IAM part of my SaaS allowing secure and flexible authentication and authorization service for both frontend and backend use cases

 ### 21. VP of Engineering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alon A. | VP of engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope made onboarding incredibly easy—I was able to completely replace my previous auth service in just two days. Their team is highly responsive and worked closely with me to ensure everything was production-ready. The documentation is clear and well-structured, making it easy to self-serve and implement features without friction. Overall, a great experience!

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

One challenge I faced was with supporting external API keys, which wasn’t as straightforward as I expected. Some additional guidance or examples in the docs would have been helpful.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope helps us manage authentication and authorization across multiple tenants in our product. It also enables secure authentication for service-to-service communication and supports external API keys for user access.

 ### 22. Taken a huge headache off from me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yigal L. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Once configured, this is a superpower, especially for a small startup.
We implemented it to comply with one login requirement, and all of a sudden, we found plenty of other ways to take advantage of it.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Coming from virtually no experience or knowledge on the subject, it was a pain to really understand all of its aspects, and since our setup is quite unique, we had to spend a lot of time making it work.
The support team has gone out of their way to help us. At one point, three team members were consulting with us, and one of them continually followed up until we reached success.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a bunch of tools connected together to allow logins with MFA and some SSO. moving to Descope, most of those tools became irrelevant, we have now one point of entry for all future users, and this entry point can be configured to receive tons of login options, and already allowed us to implement IP filtering per user without any code.

 ### 23. A former customer identity specialist who loves Descope

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather W. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Having been a customer identity specialist for years, I knew I wanted a solution to handle the authentication for my new application. I previously worked for a leading company in the space, but I couldn't justify their price point of several dollars per user just for authentication (there are so many other costs that go into building, hosting and maintaining an application). However, I wasn't willing to compromise on quality just to save money, so I explored all of the competitors I was familiar with before selecting Descope.

Descope was easiest to use, had the features I needed and made it easy to do everything from setting up different user flows, to creating different development environments. Plus, as we scale their price point is appropriate and doesn't require ridiculous negotiations to get to a reasonable dollar amount for the authentication portion of the application .

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I'd love to see Descope continue to expand the pre-built integrations they have, but this is something I can manage around by working with the APIs of the apps myself while Descope continues to expand.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It handles all of my authentication flows including login, sign-up and user registration for protected pages that require signup prior to access.

 ### 24. Easy, flexible and amazing support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sefi K. | Chief Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

The product has amazing documentation including ChatGPT being able to answer very technical questions about it.
The support from the team is exceptional.
If is just what you need to have a full support for SSO

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

The console is a bit complicated to understand on your own - but once you do - it is GREAT

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves integrating with my customer's IdP.
I have zero experience with user authentication and they did it for me

 ### 25. Solid solution for user authentication

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Once we integrated Descope, setting up user authentication flows is really easy.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I think the documentation could provide more thorough coverage of use cases beyond the basic ones.
Also, the experience of styling the login components could be better.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope provides us with a solution for user authentication flows.

 ### 26. NO BRAINER!

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Have a best-practice, best-of-breed AuthN/AuthZ platform for your product is just a non-negotiable in 2024. To do this in a way that also stays current with the current threat landscape is difficult to do if this specific area is not your core competency. Descope has allowed us to achieve this bar with a surprisingly simple integration effort. No, rolling your own solution here is not a good idea or faster.....stop thinking about it.....choose Descope.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I've had hands-on experience with Descope in two organizations now and I have not encountered an issue that was not addressed by their team or roadmap.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexible yet standards-aligned AuthN/AuthZ platform for out entire product portfolio allowing us to shift our focus to our distinctive competencies and move faster in those areas without sacrificing quality/security.

 ### 27. Best product I used this year

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karun K. | Co-founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

It's incredibly easy to use, requires less than 1 day to setup, and has had great reliability across our applications. I never thought that auth would be this easy to setup. Drag and drop database sync, sign up flows, etc. have been impeccable for us.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

The UI could use some improvement, and their documentation is great but takes an hour to get used to.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to roll auth in house. This was incredibly painful and unreliable. We got introduced to Descope and never looked back. It took us just a day to integrate. The fact that we haven't had to worry about it since speaks volumes.

 ### 28. Extremely simple auth for B2B apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preetam J. | Cofounder, Chief Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Descope?**

+ The Go SDK is amazing, and highly testable. Very easy to get started with Flows. Can implement things in minutes.
+ Documentation is comprehensive and detailed
+ Super responsive team on Slack, and the AI bot is helpful to get answers
+ Much simpler to use than alternatives (like rolling your own auth or Amazon Cognito)
+ Platform has been extremely reliable.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

There are so many features and updates released that it's hard to find time to play around with them!

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to introduce passwordless authentication to our product with minimal friction and development effort. Descope was a breeze to integrate into our product and is simple enough for every developer on our team to understand and use.

 ### 29. Selecting to build around descope - Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ori B. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope is a tool that i chose to build around all our authentication-related flows, I like the following:
1. User friendly SDK's
2. Very responsive team
3. Very reliable product
4. Lots of documentation to begin with
5. Startup program

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

1. Some bugs might take a while to be solved

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope solves a big pain for a startup, which is to start creating permissions and authorization control in the product, this is a massive part and no Soc2 / other alternative certificate can't be received.

Descope benefit us with a flexible solution, where we easily (in matter of days) been able to achieve a fully integrated solution.

 ### 30. Fastest Auth I've ever implemented

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomer Y. | Full Stack Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Descope?**

It was super easy to implement descope both in client and in server to create a multi tenant based system. The team/community was really available for questions! SLA is very fast and we barely encounter any technical issues. So far we have no effects scaling our product using the descope integration.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

It's hard to say.... If you want a certain level of customization it might be better to use their api then the sdk. The sdk has a large amount of capablilties though.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used login with google and microsoft for our multi tenant system and the drag and drop descope flows. we were able to manage 99% of our needs with the descope sdk and descope flows. overall we are satisfied for a company in the first days of our product.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer authentication solution! Our main goal is to help developers implement / modify user journeys easily, so we’re glad to hear your team had a positive developer experience while working with Descope.

Thanks also for adding context about how you chose to integrate Descope and the different options available. Between Flows, SDKs, and APIs, our aim is to provide integration options that fit any organizational environment.

 ### 31. Easy start. Immediate ROI.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Integrating with Descope has been one of the smoothest experiences I've had with tech products - easy to implement and use.

Building and maintaining authentication yourself is dangerous and expensive. We feel safe knowing our authentication is built by identity experts, and our users benefit in all aspects: user experience, security, and capabilities.

As a customer, the journey with Descope is great. From smooth onboarding to navigating challenges, their customer success team holds your hand through the migration, ultimately enhancing our authentication offering with passwordless MFA to meet our customers' needs.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

If I had to pick one area for improvement, it would be the level of customization for the login dialog. However, we managed to solve this with their quick and helpful support.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We realized that continuing to maintain and develop our own authentication was both risky and costly. By migrating to Descope, we shifted our authentication and authorization to a robust, secure platform. This not only saves us significant development time but also meets all of our customers’ needs while strengthening our overall security.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your Descope feedback with the community! We’re delighted that you had a positive experience with our product and team and hope you continue having us as your CIAM partner as your company grows.

We're appreciative of your feedback regarding customizability of the login dialog - our team is continually working to provide more customization options to customers while maintaining the benefits of our no / low code user journeys. For anyone else reading this, please check out the video below on the latest customization options available in our Styles.

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Easy to deploy, integrations with other tools, great support.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Nothing. I wanted an easy solution and they delivered.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The authentication to our product, multi-tenant support as well.

 ### 33. Modern Way To Do Auth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick A. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope is one of the most developer friendly services I've personally worked with in the last couple years. Since I first started working with Descope, they released a lot of new features as well as improved existing ones which means they're constantly making an effort to provide the best product possible.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Pricing might be steep for some projects so this is probably not a one size fits all solution.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to build flexible auth flows that even support no-code way of building.

 ### 34. Descope saved us so much time...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Easy to integrate, tons of needed features and use cases, slick desing, startup program.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I honestly cant find anything that I don't like about them.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope took all the CIAM effrots from us, allowed us to not write a single line of code for any of the use cases of tenants, users, api keys management.

 ### 35. Solid tool, great customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed O. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Customer service is very responsive and supportive. Solution is very flexible to meet custom needs and has lots of features.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

There's definitely a learning curve and some features/use cases seem to only be supported using Flows, not API/SDK. Flows can do pretty much everything though, so that might not be a con if you're OK with the no code approach.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to handle lots of different custom use cases for both retail and business customer identity. Provides us with confidence in our CIAM and that we will be able to keep up with changing landscape as CIAM and MFA approaches evolve.

 ### 36. Best value for money authentication platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Made authentication and authorization a none-issue for our saas software.
Easy to customize the flows and support different types of login per use case.
Great support from the team for features and queries.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Nothing significant,
Great product with great value.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Support multi tenant authentication for different types of logins, I.e different social logins,
User management and tenant management.

 ### 37. Excellent experience with Descope for client authentication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Libraries | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Descope?**

The personal and extensive (read: unlimited!) support from Michael Rimboim and the Descope team is what made my experience excellent.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

It was not easy to onboard with Squarespace- but we did it and it's working great!

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making log in to the online library and membership sign up way more secure than it was. We also were able to take alot of manual labor away from a volunteer team of librarians running the library.

 ### 38. Easy to maintain, secure, great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura U. | Head of Corporate operations and Digital Tech, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

A painless product. Easy to integrate, secure, and excellent support. We've been with Descope for over a year for our member's app, and it has been exactly the product we've needed both for the ease of use for our members and for our ease of operation.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

We have no dislikes at this point. It is exactly what we need.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our members never have to remember passwords and user names. Using Descope's SMS OTP has been a perfect fit for them and us.

It's been stable, secure, and reliable. The support team has been there for us in the rare cases we have a problem, listening to ideas when we have suggestions and helping us think about the future.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Hi Laura, thank you for being one of our early adopters, for your review, and for sharing your Descope feedback with the community! We’re delighted that you had a positive experience with our product and team and hope you continue having us as your CIAM partner as your company grows.

 ### 39. Great Product & Great Dev Rel experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alok S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Descope?**

In my 14 years of product management and overall 20 years of building out products, this is the FASTEST, I have ever got Auth and RBAC implemented in any product. Period.

Great Team, Great Product, and overall Great Experience.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

So far, there is nothing to dislike anything about Descope.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope makes it super easy to integrate authentication into our product. We have built passwordless auth in the past and struggled with Cognito, but Descope gets you going much faster, so you can focus on what you’re supposed to be building. The Go SDK is fantastic!

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer authentication solution! Our main goal is to help developers implement / modify user journeys quickly and easily, so we’re glad to hear your team had a positive developer experience while working with Descope.

 ### 40. A Game-Changer for Authentication Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Itay K. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

I love how Descope makes user authentication super easy. It is so easy to set up and use. The functionalities are very nice, and the support team has always supported me. This is my number one choice for securing apps

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Descope is powerful but needs better documentation. Some features aren't detailed enough, and we often rely on the support team. Improved and more comprehensive documentation would greatly enhance the user experience

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope simplifies user authentication, making it easy to secure our applications. This saves us time and resources, allowing us to focus on developing new features and improving our product. The robust security features also give us peace of mind knowing our users' data is safe.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer authentication solution! Our main goal is to help developers implement / modify user journeys easily, so we’re glad to hear your team had a positive developer experience while working with Descope and our no / low code workflows.

 ### 41. Easy to configure and ease of administration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron O. | Co-founder and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Ready to use code that is straightforward and easy to configure within your App.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Had a small challenge with iOS that was quickly resolved

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MFA and Passwordless integration that improved and created a seamless user experience while maintaining a high standard of security.
The ability to focus on our core application features and not have to build a User Identification management system from the ground up.

 ### 42. I've tried almost every service out there. Descope met all my needs and was the easiest to set up.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

1. Ease of use
There are many solutions out there that promise easy integration. But none of those take easy to the level of Descope. Descope's flow graph GUI lets you customize different flows and toggle them on and off. The best thing about this flow graph GUI is that you can always come back and remember immediately how you've had everything configured.

2. Amazing support
I can honestly say, Descope has the best customer support and this is across different all the different people I've interacted with, starting from technical support to the billing department. Every organization should strive to have employees that care this much about their customers regardless of the size of the customer's business.

3. Full feature set
I must have tried 5 or more solutions out there. If you're building SAAS, you require multi-tenancy and you will likely have a need to customize the onboarding steps. Descope provided all of that flexibility, while being the easiest to implement.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Honestly can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi-tenant auth solution for a SAaS business model

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your comprehensive review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer authentication solution! Our main goal is to help developers implement / modify user journeys easily, so we’re glad to hear your team had a positive developer experience while working with our no / low code workflows, documentation, SDKs, and developer relations team.

 ### 43. Easy to integrate and great customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wei L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

The first thing is Descope flows! With the no code flows, I can implement my signup and login process in a few minutes. More importantly, it gives me the flexibility to modify it in the production environment directly. I added the SSO support without changing a line of code!

Also, Descope has a lot of connectors to integrate with other services: I integrated SendGrid to send emails, and Segment to track events. It also has a generic HTTP connector, which I can integrate with my own applications!

The customer support is also great. Whenever I ask the team a question, I can get the answer within a few hours! Moreover, during the migration from Auth0, the team updated their migration tool based on our requirement in a week!

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I would like to have more detailed reports and API logs. Currently, I can check the new users and active users for the last week, last month, etc. If it allows a custom time window and can be downloaded as Excel or PDF, it would be great.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope helped me with the user authentication and user management.

 ### 44. Easily moved from Auth0 to Descope for a SAML SSO solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barak S. | Co-founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

- We add SAML SSO accounts periodically. With Descope's intuitive solution, onboarding new customers is seamless without needing to refresh on the process.
- Setting up new accounts now requires much less back-and-forth with customers.
- The pricing includes the Pro plan, which is usage-based and not limited by resources.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

- The pricing plan requires an annual commitment. I would appreciate an option for monthly payments.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up SAML SSO authentication for our users

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer SSO solution! Helping B2B customers simplify their SSO implementation is one of our key product use cases, so we’re delighted you have had a positive experience with the product and team for your SSO needs.

 ### 45. Love having no passwords!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope was easy to implement, and is easy to update going forward - we love the Flows interface! The team was extremely helpful during the integration process. I highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I have no complaints. We have been very pleased at every step of the process.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to quickly implement multi-factor and passwordless authentication for both our internal administrators and our customers, and we wanted the flexibility to support SMS, authenticator apps, and email, and to be able to easily add additional options in the future.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a passwordless authentication and MFA solution! Helping organizations replace / augment passwords with more secure and user-friendly methods is a key product use case, so we’re delighted you have had a positive experience with the product and team for your passwordless MFA needs.

 ### 46. Confidence in our Authentication Provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt K. | Vice President Of Software Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Our customers rely on the Cavelo Platform to provide safe and secure access to their data. By integrating our backend services with Descope, we are able to ensure that the Authentication layer is reliable and secure. Descope's pricing, particularly around SSO, aligns with our growth strategies and allows us to scale in a cost-effective manner.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I have only had positive experiences with the Descope team and product.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descope solves our need for a safe and secure Authentication layer into the Cavelo Platform.

 ### 47. Very customizable product & helpful team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roopak V. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

The product is highly customizable that it lets us do exactly what we need in the way we need rather than forcing us to change our product auth in order to use it.

However the even more important thing is the helpfulness of the team which is _amazing_ and the biggest reason in my mind to use Descope.

One can easily get started and set up a complex auth in a matter of a few hours and ship it to production.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Honestly this is hard to say because everything i have disliked they have fixed or added a feature to solve for.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed SAML for our product and descope solves this for us.

**Official Response from Abhishek Iyer:**

> Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback on Descope as a customer authentication and SSO solution! We are committed to providing responsive and active support to every customer, so we’re delighted you had a positive experience working with our self-service support options, SDKs, and developer relations team.

 ### 48. Descope is awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope is a standout in authentication, blending a nobel approach with flows with exceptional customer service. From multi-tenancy to dynamic authentication, it covered all our (somehow unique?) requirements.

What truly impresses is the customer service. Every issue or question I've had was met with swift, efficient support. Even more remarkable, if a solution didn't already exist for a specific problem, the team was proactive in either finding one or working on a new feature to meet our needs.

I would recomend Descope to anyone that is after a robust solution that will scale with your company size.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I have talked to the team and I know they are working on solutions for this but I personally would love to find a solution to keep flows at sync accross projects, potentially support a terraform provider for better control (+compliance, +change management).

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The dynamic approach descope provides for authentication flows has been proving to be extremelly valuable.

 ### 49. How we saved precious engineering hours by using Descope

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Very easy and simple set up, a lot of settings and options that make this product very flexible in terms of ui and different user flows. We loved the fact that we didn't have to develop such solution ourselves, basically everything we needed we got out of the box and for fair price. What's not to love about it then?)

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

I wish documentation could have been more enriched with edgecases and alternative solutions. Not every project is typical and sometime the "best" solution just doesn't work.

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No need to build our own CIAM system, a lot of integrations out of of the box, no headache for future installations on our side

We appreciate your feedback on the documentation. The team has been hard at work and recently launched a fully revamped comprehensive documentation portal. Please check it out in the link below and let us know what you think!

 ### 50. Utilizing Descope in Slice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel A. | Head Of R&D, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Descope?**

Descope is very comprehensible and easy to use. it supports a lot of integrations. Customer support is very good and fast as we are using a custom slack channel. We use it all the time as it is the main auth flow and the implementation is easy.

**What do you dislike about Descope?**

Some requests sometimes hang.
The access keys can't be modified

**What problems is Descope solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it as our main authentication provider in the platform.
