Being able to easily make loads and tender to our contract carriers, with not having to contact them and wait for a response. So saving time so we can direct our attention else where. The Descartes Shipper TMS has given us the flexibility and tools needed to effectively manage our incoming freight needs while controling the dollars spent to achieve this function. The data we are able to pull from the system and report to stakeholders is useful and helps gain insight into areas we can target for improved efficiencies. The community created by Descartes for users from other companies to share ideas and find new opportunities to use additional features available helps to continue to grow the benefits of the system. This community is one of the best features and provides continued growth to the system to continue using resources available to us. Customer Support is available when issues are discovered to help us work through the problem and solve as best we can. Our Customer Success Manager is available to address any ongoing challenges we face and provides us additional support and resources to ensure we are having the best experience possible with Descartes. Our company spends time testing version upgrades in pre-production to ensure improvements flow correctly with updates. Even with testing and review of release notes, issues seem to arise regularly when upgrades that are not detected during testing. At times, these issues are quickly resolved by Customer Support while other times the issue continues for an extened period of time. Additional time and company resources are needed from us to communicate the issues with our users and ensure inbound freight continues to flow with the least amount of interuptions. I like that we are easily able to identify the best rates for shipping based on quotes provided by our shipping partners. the platform is also pretty easy to use and can be picked up quickly by virtually any user. I think what I dont like isn't specifically related to Descartes Shipepr TMS, but in how we chose to integrate it with our SAP system. Very intuitive system and easy to manually process load tenders. Also easy to integrate into existing systems for automation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Descartes Shipper TMS? Rate files are not downloadable to a spreadsheet for analysis. Fuel Surcharge application when differnt shippers have different scales is not currently possible. There is currently no functionality for rail/intermdoal shipments to calcualte accurate mileage when transloads take place, everything is calculated base on OTR truck routings. The TMS automates our incoming load tender and order booking process, as well as the outgoing load tenders we send to our carrier base. Descartes Shipper has wonderful response times and I could get a human reponse quickly. They are also personal and I feel I could build a relationship with them. That made me feel comfortable developing with them. Made the migration smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Descartes Shipper TMS? There needs to be specific file formats that best will accept. Something like excel that we could input need information would be very helpful. Currently, you need to place your information in .txt files and they have to be within a specific spaced locations. It seems like it would require little development effort to produce a program that could intake excel files and place the necessary data into the excel and spit out a .txt file that is best compliant.
