What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I've been using Datamyne daily for 7 years now, and I love being able to go to one website for nearly all of my import/export data searches. Making queries is straightforward for all available countries and the data reports are in a standardized format. I can also save queries and have monthly downloads emailed to me. The support team is always quick to answer any questions I have. The tool is intuitive and easy to learn how to use, and they offer training if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

The cost for the global subscription is quite high, but there are options for only buying certain countries if that works for your business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Descrates Datamyne has been important source of information for data analysis such that they have data available on the portal for remote and geo-politically difficult countries like Russia. Their comprehensive and accurate trade data, combined with ardent and excellent customer service, has empowered its clients to make informed business decisions and stay ahead of market trends. What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

The tool does not allow for multi-country searches, restricting to search one country at a time.

Some products are listed in Mexican/Spanish language, making it difficult to identify the correct product.

There's a substantial period of lag in updating data. For eg: Russia data comes with a lag of over 6 months, which may not be a tool issue but is important for some businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you would like to get support when searching data set for multiple countries, please work with your Data Specialist for hands on training. Some countries (like Russia) will restrict the availability of their trade data, however, if you would like to be able to triangulate this data, please reach out to your Account Manager to discuss our Global Trade Data product. Global Trade Data allows your to triangulate trade data for countries that restrict or do not openly report their trade data by using reported data from other countries. Datamyne Global Trade Data includes access to datasets from over 180 countries.

I would love a bit easier interface of staying in your favorites. If I do a search in my favourites and want to do another, I need to go back to home and first select the country again. For me, doing most of the searches in USA imports it would be ideal to just stay in that environment and only select a different search. What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

After comparing many providers, we chose Descartes Datamyne as the best provider for import and export data. In particular, the HS code search function, the alert function, and the Excel export function are the best that we have seen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unfortunately, the data fields available are not the same for all countries. Some countries offer very detailed data, while other countries have only high-level data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
