With DEON you can work together in one room. Everybody involved in the project can make changes or add new content to the project board. When you want to show something to all members simultaneously, link the views and start presenting your topic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

From the outside, DEON looks like a simple virtual Whiteboard where you can write, draw and upload documents, so really nothing new in that way. The aspect that makes DEON stand out from other similar programs is the intuitive way of collaborating. Changes show up in real-time, and one can easily drag and drop and work in all kinds of documents (works exceptionally well with MS Office). You can create Kanban Boards with given tools, show presentations, or use DEON for organizing your work. The program enables a creative, fun, and beginner-friendly environment for everyone. Using DEON with a mouse on a computer is sometimes unwieldy. Some of the tools, like the drawing, require support for a pencil. Unfortunately, an IOS Version for IPads is not quite ready now. Furthermore, a proper commenting tool is missing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

DEON is very user-friendly and easy to understand. You can create your own rooms and use them as a workspace where people come together. It is not only a whiteboard where you can show and pin things. You can zoom in and out, move around independently or together as a group in the connected view. All sorts of pictures, videos, live screens, Powerpoint slides and other documents can be added to the DEON room, which makes it very easy to work together in a group. When a lot of people work in the same room at the same time in different positions the programm gets slow and loading times increase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are three major reasons why I use DEON:

1) Strong data integration: more than 40 data formats can be made visible and editable inside a DEON space; static formats like multipage documents (PPTX, PDF etc.) but also dynamic content (videos, websites, live applications); after a workshop it's easy to export a PPTX with its annotations (e.g. colored post-its, scribbles) in its original format ("as a PPTX with annotation") => this makes post-production much easier since all the texts inside the post-its can be copied & pasted into the actual PPTX with the need of retyping them again

2) Freedom to act: the infinite canvas gives infinite space for creativity; there are hundreds of ways in creating DEON spaces - to give them a structure, to lay methodologies behind it; to create, share and use templates; it's easy to use, very intuitive for most of the users

3) Easy to share: it's very simple to invite others into a DEON room to start deep realtime, visual collaboration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Currently the web version is not tha powerful and for MAC users there is just a beta version available. An integration into Jira would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It happens quickly that levels / containers shift, especially when many people are working on it at the same time, that disrupts the flow sometimes

With Excel tables with several tabs, you cannot see in real time where the moderator is and everyone has to switch manually between the sheets. This can only be avoid by sharing your screen in Teams or ZOOM.

There are loading times for Sharepoint files; if this is exceeded, DEON aborts and you have to manually update with a click on each file

An introductory impulse about areas of application and possible uses would be helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It looks very professional. The infinite canvas makes it possible to create large enough work areas for all sorts of cooperation events, from small team meetings to huge converences. The export and sharing functions are very helpful, also the possibility to use objects as active buttons that are linked to other objects/sources (webpages, files). The integration of Office365 and OneDrive avoids the circulation of various versions of files when sharing files. The possibility to roll back to previous versions of the Deon project is also very useful. The task function helps keeping track of to dos when working with teams.

Deon is hosted on German servers and therefore is compliant with corporate data security policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Limited possibilities of editing text.

Lack of templates to choose from when creating a new project. One has to create them from scratch.

Editing a project/board is only possible via a Desktop Client and not online, also the Desktop Client is only available for Microsoft and not for Mac (yet). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
