What do you like best about DemandTools?

DemandTools makes every data task so much easier than it would be doing the work in Salesforce alone or using the DataLoader product that Salesforce makes available. It is truly the gold standard and I have been using it throughout my entire career. I'm at the point where a company has to have DemandTools for me to even consider working for them. What do you dislike about DemandTools?

The only think I don't like about DemandTools is while their Power Grid product is super helpful when I create a scenario and pull up some data I can't go back and modify the filters that I've used to pull that data. I can save the scenario and then load it again to play with the filters a bit but it's a few extra steps that could be avoided if they just had a 'modify filters' button or something similar. There is tremendous value in the time I've saved using Reassign Ownership, Mass Effect, Power Grid, Find IDs, Single Table DeDupe within DemandTools. The time savings is huge and time is money so it pays for itself over and over in the normal course of business. As a Salesforce administrator I use DemandTools every. single. day. What do you like best about DemandTools?

Ease of use. Previously, writing a query and trusting the base dataloader to write complex queries and subsequently make mass updates was cumbersome and time consuimg. With DemandTools, everything is simplified (and this was even before the upgrade to DemandTools V)! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some of the new features in DemandTools V are a bit more complex than in the previous UI. However, this is more of a user issue so my only complaint would be to publish more help articles or hold some more 101/201 sessions to make sure we're using the tool to it's full capabilities. On the lowest level, data updates. However, it has now become our data manager on every level. Whether that be restricted to duplicates, easier queries (finding record IDs for example), matching criteria simplified, and finally being able to save these various scenarios to streamline the process to save valuable time on other adjacent projects. What do you like best about DemandTools?

I like the flexibility to edit every object and field in our Salesforce platform in so many different ways. I can upload a spreadsheet I've pulled out of Salesforce, or I can pull a report in Demand Tools directly from the Salesforce platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The User Interface seems to be a little outdated. Once you figure it out it's straightforward, but it's not as easy as Salesforce. There are a few things that make it difficult to navigate unless you know where to go, like having to select a line item and press the delete button in order to unselect it. There are also places that you have to drag and drop and others that you have to click the arrows and there isn't much instruction letting you know to do that. Data management could not be handled without this tool! There is no way our staff could manage our office without it, there is not enoguh manpower to do things manually. I only use this tool for data corrections which barely scratches the surface of its capability. The fact that you can use common label names instead of API names starts the long list of items I love about this product. DemandTools provides the most powerful data manipulation and query tool I have ever used. The ability to perform mass operations such as mass record merge, mass lead convert, and extremely fine tuned matching is what makes this tool a MUST HAVE for any admin of a large organization seeking to maintain clean data. What do you dislike about DemandTools?

The pricing really should not be based on the SF user count, as this changes constantly. It would be nice to have a fixed price based on something a little more finite, like actual Demand Tools users, API usage, or something similar. Also, in a purely technical sense, the ability to match based on a text string in a non-restricted picklist would be helpful. Also, auto-mapping would be nice if column headers match the field name/label. Currently, the mapping must be done manually. Mass lead convert is excellent. Single table dedupe has allowed me to identify and merge thousands of duplicate records in one fell swoop. Find/report IDs has been critical when importing large data sets from a different enviornent, allowing me to find the pre-existing records with unparalleled speed.
