I dislike when "updates" break the system. I dislike the limited nature of automations and reporting features. I also love that we can individualize the screen designer (which is also so much easier to use than Deltek Vision). they really have made the software more user friendly. **What do you dislike about Deltek Vantagepoint?** I am not particularly fond of the new layout - everything sort of blends together. I am sure this will grow on me in time but it still sometimes takes me longer to navigate than I think it should. We have one glitch with the upgrade process - for some reason our vendor addresses were not coming over. We discovered this over a month before our go-to live date and submitted a support case with Deltek. When we first set up our test environment four months prior, everything looked good. However, when we refreshed our database the addresses were not there (client addresses were). We are a small company and decided that if not resolved, we would still move forward with the upgrade. I had some back and forth with support with no resolution and long story short is we got a call the afternoon of our go-live date AFTER we had already upgraded with a resolution. **Recommendations to others considering Deltek Vantagepoint:** Test early and retest after refreshing. Other than the one glitch notated above we had a smooth transition and hit the ground running. I highly recommend purchasing (or creating copy scripts) as it will save you a LOT of time and stress. **What problems is Deltek Vantagepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** The dashboards are more user friendly and I am finding that our project managers are refering to them more often. The interface matches other systems that my users are familiar with. It was still a change management experience, but the hubs are nicely laid out. I feel the learning curve wasn't as high as I thought it might be. I appreciate the various resources that were available prior to conversion so that we could easily assess how ready we were for migration. I am so excited for the dashboards though. Now that we've been on the system for a few months, I can customize them to meet our company's needs and make Vantagepoint that much better for our project managers and other users. The new mobile apps are also really slick and make life easier for our BD folks who are always on the go. I'm glad that the idea portal exists and that Deltek listens to its customers. Sometimes I think they listen a little too much as they take on more than I think is feasible, but at least they have a regular release schedule that allows system administrators to determine when their next upgrade should be. **What do you dislike about Deltek Vantagepoint?** Some of the fields or options aren't always apparent. The installation of the software is a little more cumbersome and technical than Vision used to be where you could just download and install easily. Installation requires use of PowerShell scripting and such. Our Deltek partner was very helpful in getting us through it. **What problems is Deltek Vantagepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Visibility into project information for project managers and quality managers. The planning revamp is great and is having benefits to our scheduling staff right now! ### 38. I highly recommend the CRM be added as soon as possible for all users. This make Vantagepoint a source of truth for clients and projects and can really help follow a project through the entire lifecycle. **What do you dislike about Deltek Vantagepoint?** The best feature can also be a problem. It is very customizable and custom fields are easy to add. But that means people who don't know the software can add fields that already exist in Vantagepoint and they lose the functionality of the native VP fields. **What problems is Deltek Vantagepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** There have been several processes that have been improved with Vantagepoint. Asset Management has taken the process of posting depreciation from a painstakingly long process to a few minutes. It has also given our IT manager a method for tracking computer purchases and assignments. If he wants to see information on an employee's computer, he can go to the employee record and click on the asset tab. Project management has been enhanced as we have started entering budgeted and planned hours and costs. The PM can easily see if a task has deviated from the plan and correct ### 40. If there is something that is not understood by the user there is available trainings and resources to help you understand the process. I use both Vantagepoint and Deltek Talent every day and from a recruiting standpoint it is amazing. it was easy to train and learn on and I like that I am able to refresh a job on the website and it automatically updates to our hiring pages. It has integrated all of our systems. **What do you dislike about Deltek Vantagepoint?** Sometimes I wish there were easier way to edit steps on the talent portal. It gives me all the formatting and ways that I need to do that. Everything is laid out cleanly and it's easy to keep track of all our employees work and timesheets. My role at the company is to be the Deltek expert so it's great that you offer the Town Halls and webinars to learn all about Deltek. **What do you dislike about Deltek Vantagepoint?** There are 2 things i can think of that isn't horrible but I feel like could be better. First, I wish each report had the same options as the other reports have. Sometimes I have to use 2 reports to make one. And sometimes if the report is large enough I have to schedule it to run and get it at a later time. Second, when it comes to invoicing I wish there was an option to create one line for each role. What happens is we update our rate tables to show a more simple title view on the invoice. But because it is different employee titles labeled as one title the invoice still breaks out each one seperate. I have received alot of requests to get this on one line but there isn't that option right now. **What problems is Deltek Vantagepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is helping me go through all our employee timesheets easily by having the one screen (Approval Center) to go through. Then I utilized a new addition Deltek added with the floor check dashpart and that helps with keeping our company on track with their timesheets. I also love the advanced searches between Projects, Billing Terms and Interactive billing. It has helped me tremendously finding chunks of information and making changes. I also really enjoy in interactive billing how I can customize the invoice history tab and at a glance see information like what invoice is paid and what isn't. When I am creating invoices I like the new feature where I can search for approved invoices or even different steps of the invoice finalization. ### 43.
