What do you like best about Deltek Project Information Management?

Deltek PIM is good at storing data and information related to projects. For any documents sorted in Deltek PIM, it is easy to search and retrieve them, and the metadata helps manage documents and emails across the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Project Information Management?

The interface of Deltek PIM is very dated. It isn't very user-friendly and doesn't provide any intuitive indicators on how to use the product. In addition, it feels that some aspects of the facilities of Deltek are dated, as there is no viewer for 3D documents, even for open forms like IFC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Project Information Management?

Some of the administrator controls aren't the clearest or the most accessible? However I believe that these issues have been addressed in later versions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ageing Platform"

What do you like best about Deltek Project Information Management?

Very large database that can handle very large numbers of emails with very large attachments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Project Information Management?

Slow development, ageing platform, lack of integrations, VERY poor UI/UX, search capabilities are over-sold and actually very poor - far worse than Outlook for instance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Deltek Project Information Management:

This platfrom is suitable for email and document filing and storage, but the Search/Filter facility is poor, for instance you can't even filter emails from a single external organisation (which is simple in Outlook). The database handles large numbers of documents well, and handles large files well. The User Interface is very poor however, the software platform is very dated, and integration with modern systems like Teams and BIM360 is completely absent and not expected for years to come. "PIM Email Management"

What do you like best about Deltek Project Information Management?

PIM has made finding emails a breeze in our company. Since we have offices worldwide, we can stay on top of all the emails that affect a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Project Information Management?

I do find the interface with Outlook to be a little bulky at this time. There was an update to Outlook that broke the link between PIM and Outlook that, when fixed, will be a huge time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Deltek Project Information Management:

We rolled out PIM email management first. We will do the second phase of PIM rollout for the document management piece. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Deltek Project Information Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had a massive issue with project emails not being easily accessible. We had employees that left that did not file emails properly and multiple people filing the same email in project folders. With PIM we have required all employees to use the system, and we have filed old employees' emails. Everything is readily accessible and searchable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Deltek Project Information Management?

Project collaboration significantly improved with users having access to the information they need.

Secure storage which is easily accessible for all users including site based managers.

Accountability and tracking of information.

Contractual processes improved - ensures we meet deadlines and receive payment in line with contract terms and conditions.

Tendering process improved ensuring all suppliers have access to the relevant information and there is an audit trail of discussions and correspondence

We have stopped losing information - nothing is stored on laptops, deleted by mistake or left in an Outlook folder which others cannot access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deltek Project Information Management?

Implementation and change within the organisation takes time. Not a fault of the software but adequate time needs to be allowed for training and ensuring people are happy using the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Deltek Project Information Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

Information storage - a basic requirement but everything related to a project is now stored centrally. There is no duplication of information or information being lost. This alone has probably paid for the software as we can substantiate all costs, contract variations, application submissions etc.

Collaboration - site based users are accessing the information relevant to their project. Remote users can easily access all documentation and work from anywhere. This has been invaluable during the pandemic as we were able to easily switch to remote/home working with no disruption to our business.

Contract Processes - the different contract requirements are controlled more effectively with deadlines met for submissions to ensure we comply with the relevant terms.

Snagging and Defects - centrally controlled and monitored through the mobile app ensures we are handing projects over defect free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
