It has very good performance both in terms of latency and accuracy. It has never been down during the period we were using or we had any problem. **What do you dislike about Deepgram?** We still integrate Deepgram to Vapi, and let Vapi orchestrate the agent. Deepgram doesn't have as many features or is as intuitive to build the orchestration as Vapi. **What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Deepgram as our STT in a sales simulator, where the IA plays the role of a customer and a sales rep practices with the AI. Therefore, the STT must be low latency and have a good accuracy. Most of our clients speak Portuguese, so for us the accuracy of the recognition of Portuguese is very important. The documentation is generally good and easy to integrate. Nova 2+3 are a significant improvement over some of the competition we tried and are easy to integrate and use. The recent add of a multilingual model in nova-3 covering a broad range of languages has been extremely helpful in our translation solution. Additionally, low latency is a major part of what our translation solution needs and deepgram's STT is one of the lowest latency solutions we have tried in terms of first-response. The deepgram voice models are especially well suited for pronunciation and have a very natural tone when doing so - which is important for intake events and confirming user information over voice which is inherently unreliable for specific data items like name or phone number. The deepgram agent api is a huge improvement over manually glue-ing STT, TTS, and an LLM together and managed orchestration for it sped up our development of an agentic voice solution by manyfold. The partner program allows for communication with deepgram that smaller teams and orgs normally wouldn't have. They have helped us address issues as well as work through implementation details that were hard to implement or hard to miss. **What do you dislike about Deepgram?** Deepgram doesn't have the language support of some other providers, which can be limiting - but they have worked to expand the number of languages they support. The prices all include the "model improvement program" which can't be used for all of our industry applications - so the actual price is 2x when used in that way. Once you've experimented with the integrated playground, implementing it using the API is incredibly simple. The excellent documentation will save you hours during implementation. It does well on quiet environments but the transcription quality falls when there is noise interference. And it sometimes misunderstands technical parlance, which I have to correct by default. Itā€™s not all bad though, it would simply be nice for customer support to be a little quicker because sometimes they take a while to respond to more complex questions. **What problems is Deepgram solving and how is that benefiting you?** Deepgram significantly improved our workflow through elimination and automation of meeting transcription and call transcription. We can now save a ton of time by spending it reviewing transcripts, rather than spending hours transcribing audio. The best part is its low latency and really fast, accurate transcription. Before Deepgram, we struggled to transcribe videos quickly enough; it often took too long and sometimes failed. I looked at several providers, but Deepgram was the fastest and most accurate. Plus, we didnā€™t need to host a transcription model, making it much easier for our engineering team to build. Their team has been easy to work with, and we were able to get up and running pretty quickly.
