"Love Me Some DbVisualizer!"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I love the fact that DbVisualizer works with all the database systems that I have databases in. It makes life VERY easy for me to go back and forth from MS SQL Server to MariaDB to PostgreSQL to MySQL. AND, I also have options if I have to work with others too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Not really a dislike, just a minor inconvenience with having to install Java in order to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good tool but could be better"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The power of the tool. It could be considered a tool that can look primitive but has enough power. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

The User interface is not as appealing as it should be. Also, it is far behind the competition. Also, it is a bit heavy on system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use with lots of features and support"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVis makes it easy to import and export files, use variable and any other feature you can think of.

You don't have to worry about losing your queries with the auto-recover feature that re-opens DBVis with all your work that was left open, very helpful when Windows Updates occur when you are not expecting them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

I haven't had any real issues using DbVis. One thing I change from default is the maximum heap size allocation but I don't think I would call that an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent one-stop-shop when working with software development"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer gives me quick, comprehensive and unified access to the various databases I work with during software development. With DbVisualizer I can use a single tool, no matter make or flavour of database. This has been so useful to me as a software developer that I have added DbVisualizer to my permanent private "toolbox" as a software development consultant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

As I carry the cost for my DbVisualizer Pro license personally, I like to see a price model that grants some discount to personal professional users, as opposed to enterprise professional licences, that have an easier time to carry such a cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Multi-Vendor Multi-Platform Database Tool in existence."
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The fact that it is multi-platform and multi-vendor as that's always been a large part of my job. I must have owned this tool for 15 years or something like that. I can't even recall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

My only quibble, frankly, is that it still does not run on > JDK 11. It seems to want to run JDK 8 which is deprecated due to security concerns. They need to be cognizant that older JDK's are being eliminated from most desktops in the enterprise for good reason. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All in one"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Handles everything I need all from one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Nothing! Well maybe it doesn't have all the built in niceties of MSSQLMS but I'm sure with some more MSSQL background I could figure out the alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great all-purpose database development and operations tool for many different DB flavors"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer allows me to connect to all of the databases I use with one tool and to work with them efficiently both from a development and operations perspective. Not having to remember the peculiarities of many different tools to access different DB flavors is of great benefit.

The tool also succeeds in non-functional areas I find important, such as being able to install and/or run without requiring administrator privileges on Windows. Once installed, it can also be upgraded without admin privileges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Dealing with very large datasets (millions of rows) can sometimes be a struggle and this seems commensurate with available RAM; however, I recognize that a desktop tool is often not the right tool for that kind of analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Long-time User"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I love the ability to manage many different RDBMSs from the same interface, as well as the ability to generate diagrams and models from existing databases. There are tons of great features, but those two in particular are my favorites. It also does a really nice job of maintaining history in case you forget to save something that was useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

It's a Java application, and with that comes some memory management issues from time-to-time. There's a nice garbage collection button in the lower-right, but it's annoying that I have to use it at all. Also, given the aforementioned, the UI isn't as smooth and polished as you may find with other tools. However, compared with other RDBMS tools in this space, the UI isn't bad. It looks dated, but so does everything else for managing databases. It's a utilitarian tool though, so it's not something I care about that much. I do with it had dark mode, but I'll survive without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DbVisualizer is a great tool!"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Excellent user interface and easy to use. It's also easy to save and load queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Sometimes a query will overload it, and the software will lock up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
