Snippets Manager is a time saver allowing me to create a library of reusable scripts. A keyboard shortcut key to the manager would be very efficient for on-the-fly saving of new scripts. Also, keyword searches would also be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It seems a little bit slower than other software. It uses a lot of resources, even on high-grade machines. And, the other "bad" side is the price. The subscription model is a bit expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I prefer scripting most of the time, but the GUI has never let me down when I'm in a rush. I have used several different GUIs (phpMyAdmin, HeidiSQL, SQLserver Management Studio) and dbForge Studio for MySQL is my favorite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes exports to SQL insert statements automatically set names= 'compatibility' rather than utf8. Occasionally there are also some GUI errors when using very obscure storage engines for MariaDB, but I can't fault them too much for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to create very complex lookup and join queries over multiple tables, then test that they are working as expected before copying the generated SQL query text (or build a view in dbForge) to use directly in Visual Studio. This makes using MySQL effortless, even for novice users and is a great tool to learn the intricacies of MySQL.

It also builds databases quickly with easy entry of tables, views, queries, events and triggers, making the job of managing MySQL rapid and easier to use than using pen and paper. When writing raw SQL, it uses autocomplete which is a fantastic tool, no need to keep a list of tables, etc, or remembering the syntax of that command you hardly ever use as its all there.
