## DBeaver Reviews
  ### 1. Very functional and practical

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George F. | ETL Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

This software is totally reliable. Being able to connect to multiple Databases and manage all of them in one software is awesome.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The application has some problems with the dark theme, some parts in the UI don't get dark as expected.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

This is a very good software for database management.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connection to multiple Databases, export csv files. Database backups.

  ### 2. Good DB Connector Application...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike E. | Senior Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

It is a very robust application, allowing me to easily look at our Postgres database, as well as look at other sources. One really great feature that is often used is the ability to open CSV files and treat them as databases as well.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The user interface is really difficult to use. It almost seems like a throwback to the 90's and that old Windows 98 tree view. For instance, I have to make 6 clicks just to get to my table that I am wanting! One other thing that is an annoyance is that my company had to get the Enterprise Edition in order to be able to see JSON data types as a JSON structure.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

My only gripe with it is its user interface. I think that if DBeaver took some usability cues from platforms like Navicat; this would be a perfect application. Other than that, this is a very solid application that is solving a lot of our database management needs. I really appreciate that they have both an Open Source version of it as well as a Paid version of the application.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DBeaver every day, in the assistance of developing our application that we are developing.

  ### 3. DBeaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

Great SQL workbench for Mac and other platforms. Much easier to use then the native offering for some of the database vendors

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The eclipse based interface takes some getting used to. This might be more related to my disdain for Eclipse in general.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

You can't beat free. It's much more featured then some of the other free SQL editor programs

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use DBeaver to connect to Snowflake, Redshift and Netezza DBs

  ### 4. Everything in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I love how easy it is to switch between databases and servers, even across multiple languages! Setting up servers is intuitive and easy. The keyboard shortcuts are nice, so I can easily query multiple items without every taking my hands off the keyboard. The interface that comes up makes adding rows to a table extremely simple! Furthermore, they even have automatic query generation for simpler queries so this isn't just for developers but also for operations. The syntax highlighting is nice as well, making it much simpler to read queries because words change color based on context. The errors are easy to understand and help you figure out how to fix your broken queries!

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

I'd love to be able to use Vim keyboard shortcuts while writing/editing my queries! Sometimes there seems to be an issue with VPN connections while using the tool.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

DBeaver is great though I have had some issues regarding VPN while using it. Don't know which side is at fault for this though!

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DBeaver makes connecting to multiple servers seamless and easy! The amount of time and memory I save by having everything in one easy to use tool is awesome.

  ### 5. Ideal versatile product for DBA

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

What I like about the tool is that it is free, I can download it and use it without problems, it is easy to install and the best of all is that it allows me to manage and control different servers with different versions and database managers

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Sometimes it becomes slow for deployment

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

It is a versatile tool that makes life easier for any database administrator, although it is also perfect for developers or anyone who likes the world of databases is simple and convenient

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my work we manage postgres, mysql and oracle and although we work mostly by console, sometimes we need to work graphically, as do users, the great advantage of DBEAVER is that I can manage the same program in different handlers of database, without having to have one installed for each one.

  ### 6. DBeaver makes it very easy to look at the data across multiple database management system.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I work will both SQL Server and DB2 and I am constantly migrating data from DB2 to SQL server. Previously to view a table in the DB2, I had to use Informatica to migrate it to SQL server, but with DBeaver, I can simply connect it to DB2 and view it. It has saved a lot of time

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The only thing I dislike about DBeaver is that it is not visually pleasing and a little difficult to navigate. So, if they make DBeaver easier to navigate, I believe it will attract more users. Right now to execute a query you have to generate a query, copy it and then execute it. I think there are a few things that can be made simpler.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

If you are like me working with multiple databases and who works in Data Warehousing or is an ETL developer, DBeaver will make your life much easier. It is a great tool which you can use to connect to various DBMS from one place.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has saved a lot of time because I can look at how the data is stored in other systems without migrating it as it is to the staging database. This has helped me a lot to get faster at data cleaning phase

  ### 7. DBeaver is a good database connector

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

DBeaver effectively assembles multiple DB connections into a single app. You can also simply distinguish different environment by assigning colors to them, so you'll instantly recognize wether you're executing queries on a development or a production database. It's a very useful feature that prevents (or at least diminish) executing queries on the wrong machine

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

It's not always responsive, and also it takes a very long time to display a query result if you have related tabled (since it tries to create links between the FKs to make you quickly navigate between the tables). This function, enabled by default, greatly increases the time required to render the result grid. I then recommend you to disable this function (if you don't need it) from connection properties > Result Sets > Untick Read Table References

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

You'll enjoy using DBeaver, it's a solid software, even if it rarely hangs or slow down.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DBeaver simplifies database connections, especially if you have to connect to multiple databases, optimizing your time at work

  ### 8. DBeaver - Good Query tool to use with multiple Databases support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

The ability to auto complete sql queries and execute them according to the database .
I use Oracle and DBeaver works without the semi colon at end of SQL query. (annoying SQL Developer throws errors).
the keyword auto completion according to the database used is good feature.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The stale connection reset takes more time. If a connection became stale, the query tool should disconnect or reconnect - it should not wait until we execute the next SQl query.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the DBeaver for querying databases in multiple databases and environments.

  ### 9. a database very complete

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

The many configurations with several database drives.
It's easy to use and the community version is enought to use in a professional way

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The application run in the java virtual machine, and if you don run it in a good laptop or pc, is possible that dbeaver finishes with the RAM memory

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

It's a good option if you look for free software, but there are better database clients more expensives

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my job we use many connections with differens database systems, and dbeaver helps me to have all connections and projects organized

  ### 10. Good SQL db client

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I like that it is simple and easy to use. Provides different driver options to use (Microsoft JDBC, inbox). Ability to test connections and have multiple databases connected at the same time.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

There could be more new-user friendly features. Setting up new db connection could be more easier.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing SQL databases for software development and product quality testing.

  ### 11. Clean and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

DBeaver is a great tool. I use it to run queries on our database. I'm a pretty beginner level but have run some deeper analyses and it's very useful. Also, the UI is fairly straightforward with only a few exceptions (read dislikes)

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Some of icons did not make sense to me at first like having a lightening bolt as the "execute" button, but it might be due to my inexperience.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting quick data points to share with internal and external stakeholders

  ### 12. A good connector for accessing multiple DB's

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I can have all my database connections in one spot. This makes it easy to keep tabs on multiple queries from different data sources. Another plus point is highlighting different environment connections by assigning them different colors.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Its not intuitive with connectivity. It takes a time for it to figure out the database is not connected. There have been times I would have to restart Dbeaver multiple times to get a consistent connection.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Go for it, its currently one of the better softwares

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me run analytical queries on multiple sources and helps me get an answer as fast as possible as I am not switching between different softwares

  ### 13. Dbeaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

Dbeaver is a great db management tool which works flawless where you can distinguish the connections with specific details like prod Qa dev etc.
Over all a great tool to start.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

In this tool the only disadvantage that I can think of is that he connectivity to the HDFS platforms like hive DB etc..

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Please use this tool if you don’t want to spend lot of money. Please use it to get things faster and in a great management with in the tool.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data quality security is the biggest work that I do and I see that this tool can hel in doing the UNIT test after the code is implemented.

  ### 14. One client for all DB and DWH

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

The way we can connect to multiple data warehouses/databases with one-tool is very convenient. DBeaver also supports SQL, HiveQL, and MySQL languages and has a very intuitive UI tool so it makes querying different DBs very easily. It also has a tool that allows us to color-code each so we can easily see whether we are querying on stage or production servers. This minimizes the number mistakes I can potentially make.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

There are several buggy quirks when using DBeaver. For example, there are instances where it would just freeze up and a hard restart would be required to fix the issue. There is also an issue when updating my current DBeaver version due to a missing .jar file that cannot be found.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dbeaver is a great tool for us since we only need to use one tool that allows us to connect to Hive, Postgres, and MySQL databases. It is nice to have one-tool that can make our lives a bit simpler.

  ### 15. DBeaver in web development

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacopo V. | Senior web developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

It has a Linux native app and DBeaver manages every instance of anything (db, table, record, ...) as a tab, so it is very easy to browse between different data

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Reconnection after timeout is not very efficient; you have to be very careful in using script pane in order to apply script to the right db

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Quite easy to setup and admin, but very comfortable in editing data

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing databases from a Linux native app, without any virtualization

  ### 16. Flexible database editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaque F. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I like the fact that i no longer need to change software everytime i work with diferent database types.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

I feel the need sometimes for some Oracle functionalities. Mostly SQL+

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Since DBEAVER is updated often, and it has drivers to support other functions and database languages, i think it will have a long live and worth investing in.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With DBEAVER i can use less software to do the same things. And that way i can be more productive, because i get more used to the same tool and perform better when coding and testing

  ### 17. Great alternative platform for SQL development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I like the UI much more than Microsoft SQL server. It allows for much more customization and is useful for connecting to multiple databases. I also really enjoy the overall UI for sql development.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The only thing I dislike about DBeaver is the setup process was a little difficult and buggy. This may have been to my security settings, but it definitely took some time to figure out how to get everything working.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Read the documentation closest when setting up for the first time.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit for me is an easier environment for SQL development that is easier to share and work in.

  ### 18. Easy to use Postgres

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

A fairly straightforward tool with acute username and icon.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

User experience is not as intuitive as I would like it to be. Bit of the interface takes time to get used to. Depends on what you're used to using.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company is not at the point where I can easily access our database, and need a free software to link up to it to at least be able to manipulate the data. Unfortunately doing any real modeling has to be put on hold.

  ### 19. Great open-source tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

The ability to interact with every db you could ask for is fantastic. I like the interface, even if it is stodgy-looking.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

I don't like how auto-complete works. Take a few extra steps to make it work, the engine running that could be better. Also, the custom formate could use some work to make it friendlier to edit.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

probably for more advanced software users who like delving into things and don't care about slick but sometimes minimal interfaces.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This gives me a client i can use on any OS i find myself on and be comfortable

  ### 20. Dbeaver is a good to have open source tool for DB

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

Unlike DB visualiser, the free edition will allow you to take insert scripts of the entire table or a single row

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

For a free tool, I didnt find anything that was missing in the tool

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

If you are looking for a open source tool that can generate sql scripts of the table and viewing the CLOb objects or directly update values in the table this is the tool

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool is mostly used to interact with DB, to see table schema and relations in the DB

  ### 21. Dbeaver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2017

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

It works for my uses. Im a beginner and it is pretty forgiving.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Sometimes it can be finicky. For example, I have to expand and click onto the actual table Im searching in.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retrieving basic information for QA testing.
