## DBeaver Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to use if you know the settings, impossible to cancel a query

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dani S. | Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

open source, easy to download. has some additional local functionalities that make it a good addition to snowflake, if you're familiar with the settings you should be using, easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

I haven't found a good way to end a query that's taking too long to run or may have been run by mistake. You basically have to kill the whole program. Not the prettiest UI

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

use as add-on, not main sql interface

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Big data analysis and reporting. No additional benefits to any other sql UI.

  ### 2. Okay tool, easy to learn

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

relatively easy to learn, would be good if they have some general tips for beginers

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

don't have anything that i dislike for now

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick access to data from our database..

  ### 3. Good GUI tool to work with a plethora of databases

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ginoy G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

The user interface is very intuitive and easy to get up and running even for someone who is completely new to the Dbeaver application. Supports opening multiple query script files side by side and even connected to multiple databases at the same time. The commit mode can be set to Auto or manual modes. Easy access buttons to disconnect or reconnect to a database. One can even configure the maximum result set size so that the database connection doesn't hang up if the result of a query was too big to process.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

The community edition does not support certain databases such as Apache Cassandra and MongoDB which is a big bummer when considering DBeaver as a default database management and interaction tool. Toolbar icons are not intuitive of their purpose. For example, the icon to execute the current SQL script/ query is not easy to guess from the toolbar unless you hover on top of it when you see the tooltip. The graphic on the icon is somewhat misleading.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

DBeaver is a good tool to get up and running with querying databases. There isn't much learning curve involved for someonce who is completely new to Dbeaver. Checkout if your database is supported in the free distribution of DBeaver.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dbeaver is a versatile database manager and querying utility tool that I use for connecting to a database, form queries, run the queries against the database and analyze the result of the query. Dbeaver provides very well defined and standard user interfaces to perform these functions with ease. Dbeaver is also used to query a database connected with and check for queries that are long-running The export option allows us to export the dataset of a query into a file.

  ### 4. Eye-friendly UI with poorly thought out essentials

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniela S. | Digital Project Manager, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

it is really useful to be able to pull fields after coding what table you'll be using, streamlines query writing. connecting to drivers is also easy

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Basically everything. It's impossible to abort a query (at least for apache hive) by any method other than crashing the program all-together. dbeaver for hive doesn't support a history log, so it's up to you to separately log all queries or you're out of luck. Takes forever to connect to drivers.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Honestly, just consider another software instead.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business insights using a mapreduce database, but i've largely switched to using teradata, which is older and simpler but suffices with strong basics.

  ### 5. Easy to use but low functionality

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

Very easy to use and also easy to set up and install. The tool is self-explanatory and has a very good usability. It's very good for small projects.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Making multiple connections to different databases is painful and selecting a main database to use can create problems. However what's by far the worst about the tool is that it has no query compiler, meaning that if your query has an error at some point you will have to find it yourself and won't get any hint about where to find it.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

They should definitely implement a compiler that shows the line of the error in the query.

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was handling small projects and small databases with it. Therefore it was really useful and easy to install. I would not suggest using it in a long term.

  ### 6. A good connector for accessing multiple DB's

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about DBeaver?**

I can have all my database connections in one spot. This makes it easy to keep tabs on multiple queries from different data sources. Another plus point is highlighting different environment connections by assigning them different colors.

**What do you dislike about DBeaver?**

Its not intuitive with connectivity. It takes a time for it to figure out the database is not connected. There have been times I would have to restart Dbeaver multiple times to get a consistent connection.

**Recommendations to others considering DBeaver:**

Go for it, its currently one of the better softwares

**What problems is DBeaver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me run analytical queries on multiple sources and helps me get an answer as fast as possible as I am not switching between different softwares
