I’m the manager of my unit, and I found this product because I wanted an easy, transparent way to support my team’s time-off requests. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across the Day Off product, and even more impressed by the price for the value it provides to my team. Day Off makes it easy to request, approve, and track time off in one place. It keeps everything organized, improves communication, and helps our team avoid scheduling conflicts. One improvement I'd like to see is clearer messaging or reminders about company leave policies during the request process. For example, if someone submits a personal leave request with less than the required notice or a vacation request without enough advance notice, it would be helpful if the app warned them before they submitted it. It offers more features and options than our small company currently needs, which can make parts of the interface feel more extensive than necessary. I like the ease of use and the integrated components with team announcements, setting administrators, clearing/editing PTO, etc. I also like how you can set company holidays, and break down what days off you get for what. On top of this-there can be different groups like Salaried/Contractors. It's an easy to use platform, straightforward, fast, minimal learning curve, gets the job done and it's inexpensive. Saves significant time compared to a manual excel spreadsheet, and it's still no cost to us as a small non-profit. Also much easier to track days off and avoids errors. Since we track PTO in hours, I don't like that when you are requesting a day off that you have to factor in lunch. I want an 8 hour day to be automatic in hours. Ease of time off requests and approval flow. Customizable settings and option to adjust nuances applicable to different types of time off reuqests. Solid accrual process and reporting. I love the integration with Outlook calendar, where employees can easily see who is off. Customer support is very responsive and happy to help explain the nuances and assist with setup. Had no issues with overall platform performance and reliability. the value of the subscription is beyond justified for our company of 11 people, saves a lot of time monthly to track PTD. I understand that the integration is possible but it is not a default option and need to be done with the help of IT. It is not a negative feedback, just a drawback for us. I've been using Day Off since our previous supplier of HR software closed up shop. The simplicity and effectiveness of the user interface were the first things to strike me as relevant. The dashboard and existing reports cover all my needs and those of my teams. The onboarding process was straightforward and allowed us to be up and running in a single day. Having a system that is easy for employees to request time off 2. I can set each employee's respective allotment for PTO at the beginning of the year and not worry about it again 3. Employees use the app, and it has never made mistakes 4. As a small company, being able to do all of this for free is incredible. In terms of integration with the team, it has been incredibly easy. I add them as users into the system, they receive an email to create their login, and then we have a 20-minute introduction to the website and app and they are good to go for the rest of the year. Once again, for the free edition of this service, I cannot complain. It does exactly what I want it to. Prior to finding Day Off, I would manage my employees' PTO on a spreadsheet, but I am not a very detail-oriented boss, so occasionally things would slip through the cracks. Additionally, it was just another small matter that required my attention and I just don't need more of those tasks that distract me from my main mission. Our needs are very basic so we are using the free version. The tabs are labeled appropriately making navigation very simple. We are a small team so we generally don't book off the same days and all the employees can see the calendar, this makes it easy for the team to schedule their time off! Before Day Off, people were requesting time off verbally and then we would write it on a calendar. People would sometimes forget to write their time on the calendar and then people would double book that day. Multiple people off on the same day has a negative impact as we are a very small team. People would also put their time on the calendar without it being approved.
