"Datto SaaS Protection: Simple, Centralized Microsoft 365 Backups and Restores"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

Datto SaaS Protection has been useful for adding an additional recovery layer for Microsoft 365 data that many organizations incorrectly assume is fully protected by default retention alone. The platform simplifies backup visibility for Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams while making restoration requests easier to manage during accidental deletions or data retention issues. We also appreciate the straightforward deployment process and centralized management approach, which makes ongoing administration relatively lightweight once configured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

Granular search and recovery workflows could be more flexible in certain situations, particularly when dealing with large datasets or complex restoration requests. Reporting and auditing functionality also feels somewhat limited compared to larger enterprise-focused SaaS backup platforms. While the platform is generally easy to manage, some areas of the interface could provide more contextual detail during troubleshooting or restore validation processes. "Reliable Microsoft 365 Backups with Simple Management and Fast Recovery"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

Datto SaaS Protection provides reliable backup coverage for Microsoft 365 and other cloud platforms with simple management and fast recovery options. The platform makes it easy to restore emails, OneDrive data, SharePoint content, and Teams data when accidental deletions or other issues occur. The centralized management and automated backups help ensure cloud data is protected without requiring extensive administration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

The interface is generally easy to use, but some restore and search functions can feel slower than expected when working with large datasets. Reporting and alert customization could also be more flexible, especially for MSP environments managing multiple tenants. In some cases, additional visibility into backup status details and job history would improve troubleshooting and administration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Manage Automated Backups"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

Datto SaaS Protection is easy to deploy and manage, and its automated backups run reliably with very little manual effort. It provides dependable protection for platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and the restore process is straightforward whether I need to recover a single item or restore an entire account. The interface is clean and user-friendly, and it integrates smoothly with tools like Autotask and IT Glue, which helps keep everyday workflows efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

The platform can feel a bit limited in terms of advanced configuration and customization options. Search and restore functions, while functional, can sometimes be slower or less precise than expected, especially with large datasets. "Effortless Backup with Room for Reporting Enhancements"
5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

I like how simple Datto SaaS Protection is to set up and manage. All you have to do is connect it to a Microsoft Tenant and it's so simple to start backing up Teams, OneDrive, Exchange365 and Sharepoint. It just works and continues to work. Integrating new clients makes it incredibly simple. The pricing is also so straightfoward and allows those working with MSPs to easily sell backup as a service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

There are some gaps in reporting. I would like to have better notifications on backups, especially with backups that spike in size, new users, stagnent users, and new Sharepoint sites and Teams channels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace Backup, but Only One Piece of Resilience"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

What I like most about Datto SaaS Protection is that it solves a very common and often misunderstood risk:

“We use Microsoft 365, so our data is automatically protected.”

Many organizations assume Microsoft or Google will recover anything they lose. In reality, they provide platform availability, but long-term data protection remains the customer’s responsibility.

Datto SaaS Protection addresses that gap in a very simple and easy-to-understand way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

It solves only one piece of the resilience puzzle

This is my biggest concern.

Datto SaaS Protection protects:

* Microsoft 365

* Google Workspace

It does not protect:

* Servers

* Virtual machines

* Azure workloads

* Network infrastructure

* Business applications

Impact:

Customers still need additional backup and disaster recovery solutions for the rest of their environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Datto BCDR: Fast VM Spin-Ups and an Intuitive, Frictionless UI"
5/5
What do you like best about Datto SaaS Protection?

We use a variety of backup products, but with Datto BCDR there’s a physical appliance onsite that lets us spin up VMs very quickly during a DR situation. The UI is clean and intuitive, which makes it easy to move fast and complete recovery tasks without a lot of friction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datto SaaS Protection?

The interface can also be improved for managing larger environments and more granular restore and export capabilities would make the product even more effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
