Its automated document matching, extraction, and cross-referencing features within Excel dramatically reduce manual audit work. The ability to instantly trace values from source documents to working papers improves both speed and audit quality. It integrates seamlessly with Excel and works extremely well with large datasets and PDF evidence. The highlighting, snipping, and referencing features significantly enhance audit documentation and review efficiency. **What do you dislike about DataSnipper?** While DataSnipper is extremely powerful, some advanced features require time and training to fully master. Performance can occasionally be impacted when processing very large or poorly scanned PDF files. Great and easy to use (specifically for the purpose of compiling data into Excel) **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025 **What do you like best about DataSnipper?** Great tool for compiling data from source documents (the OCR has great accuracy with good quality documents and acceptable accuracy for low quality documents). Greatly reduced the time spent manually compiling data, particularly when there are many pages / documents. Great tool and is used often if you receive many documents with different templates. Good support, quick responses, and the staff is aware where the tool excels and where it lacks. Implementation was quick and painless, the tool can be found in the Excel ribbon, Good interface for users with low literacy in technology. Very easy to use at different levels of experience (similar to the snipping tool by windows, but exports the snipped area to Excel). **What do you dislike about DataSnipper?** Can slow down Excel at times (each update seems to have improved this issue). Lack of customization (i.e., have certain options as default, create shortcut keys, etc.). This is a low priority issue and can be worked around. Low ceiling and low floor skills - very easy to get into, but very small difference between a new and an experienced user. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it could be rewarding for the more experienced users (ex: Excel rewards highly experienced users through speed and efficiency). Cannot limit the number of active users (as defined by them), therefore some overflow can happen. Ex: reviewing an Excel document using the tool's reviewing abilities (i.e. view document on the side with the snipped sections highlighted) causes you to be labelled as an active user - even if you were not the one that used imported the documents or initiated the tool, further excaberating the overflow problem. To solve this, the initial user has to remove all traces of the tool from the Excel working paper prior to sending it for review. **What problems is DataSnipper solving and how is that benefiting you?** The firm receives many documents with varying degrees of quality in different templates (payroll, manufacturing data tables, internal profit & loss statements, etc.). Datasnipper helps to compile the data onto Excel and drastically reduces the time spent manually compiling. Very low barrier of entry, therefore any type of user can excel with the tool. ### 3.
