I use Datasite Diligence to organize and securely share documents during due diligence. Generally speaking, what I didn’t like about Datasite was the very high price, given that subscription packages are charged based on the number of pages in the documents uploaded to the VDR Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about Datasite Diligence is how reliable and structured it feels during high-pressure diligence phases. When timelines are tight and multiple stakeholders are accessing documents at the same time, Datasite holds up smoothly and without friction. I like the systematic approach that I get with this software.

The search and indexing are genuinely strong. Even in very large data rooms, I can find documents quickly, which ends up saving hours over the course of a deal. The Q&A module is another major plus: it keeps buyer questions, responses, and related document references clearly organized, rather than scattered across emails and spreadsheets.

From an admin perspective, the permission controls and audit trails are extremely helpful. I can confidently manage who sees what, track document activity, and generate reports that are actually usable for internal reviews and compliance needs.

I think the the biggest drawback about Datasite is the cost. The software is clearly designed for serious transactions, but that also means it can feel overpowered, at times complicated and expensive, especially for smaller or mid-sized deals where a lighter solution would be enough.

There’s also a learning curve for first-time users, especially on the admin side. Even though the platform is very capable, some workflows aren’t immediately intuitive, and new users often need guidance to take full advantage of features like permissions, Q&A routing, and reporting.

From a UX perspective, the interface is functional, but it doesn’t feel particularly modern or customizable. It gets the job done, yet it doesn’t always come across as fast or flexible as newer SaaS tools.

The cost feels too high compared to other platforms, especially for a new user looking to subscribe. At times, the platform becomes very slow, and getting information quickly (even within a second) isn’t always reliable.
