"Datasite is the best Virtual Dataroom"
5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I work in the diligence space and have access to multiple datarooms from 100+ transactions that I do throughout the year. Between myself and my peers, Datasite is widely considered the best online VDR. It's incredibly practical, very fast, and is typically the prime choice of VDR for most of the transactions that I'm on annually. Uploading information is very easy, the software is very secure, and I've never honestly had an issue that I've needed to reach out to customer support for. Overall, very satisfied with VDR and how easy it is to implement and integrate into the many times that I've used it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Datasite is the industry standard and I wish it was used in more instances on my engagements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use VDR leads to bigger imact"

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I think it easy to upload it files into the VDR, and most importantly it is easy to sort and find files once they are posted in the VDR. It is also easy to teach someone how to use and navigate it, this is helpful as some VDR end up having a lot of users in it. I am also a big fan of the customer service, they are always willing to personlize your experience with great joy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Building a dashboard within the VDR can be confusing at times, the dashboards also don't always look as sharp as one would want them too. This is one of the features that I tend to stay away from. As a concept they are great, but they lack execution. Hopefully they will make them more user friendly and add more themes to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

My personal opinion is that Datasite is the strongest of the VDR vendors. It is very easy to use and intuitive and you are able to customize it so that it works best for you. The ease of pulling key reports is helpful and allows for insights to be gleaned very quickly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Honestly I can't think of much. I do remember hearing that it is expensive, but it is the top VDR product which makes sense Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

Having used several VDR vendors before, Datasite likely is my top choice purely from an ease of use perspective and the least likely to cause headaches when handing off responsibilities for overseeing the VDR process (permissioning, uploading, removing files/people), etc. Basically, a good VDR should cause you no problems -- a great VDR should actually make your life easier -- Datasite does both Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Honestly, not much -- I think there is probably a case to be made about more configurable layouts...I don't need a sandbox or a staging room or the need to flip on/off publishing -- sometimes I do sometimes I don't, so being able to make it more simpler or more complex would be helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Brit Boorman of Datasite Diligence

Greetings, and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback with us! We’re so glad to hear that Datasite Diligence has made your processes easier—especially when multiple people are working on a deal.

We also truly appreciate your comments about configurable layouts. While our data room is designed to accommodate complex needs, we understand the value of flexibility to better align with simpler workflows. If you’re planning to start a new project and would like to explore turning off or removing the Sandbox feature to simplify for simpler processes, your Datasite representative would be happy to assist with that. Your feedback has also been shared with our product team to help guide future enhancements.

Thank you again for your kind words and input—it means so much to us. We’re excited to continue supporting your deals and helping make your work easier!

Kind regards,

The Datasite Team

"Best VDR for M&A"

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

Easy to use. Very intuitive. And very reliable. Easy to navigate, learning curve for new users is small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Q&A functionality can be clunky. Hard to follow-up if sellers closes question out. Email notifications on Q&A don't link back to specific question addressed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi, Stephen! Thanks so much for your review. We are really pleased you consider Datasite the best VDR for M&A. Glad you find Datasite reliable and easy to learn! We've shared your note on notifications leading to the specific questions with our Product team, so thank you for that. Interestingly, on our mobile app, Q&A alerts DO take you right to the unanswered question, so it's reasonable to expect the same on the web version! We hope to work with you and your team again soon. What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

The system is extremely user friendly. The thing I like is that you can schedule updates on various data sites you are a member of to push emails in batches or receive all information. I like to toggle this based on where in the deal process I am. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I can't really think of any downsides. I would love an option to get all the files emailed to me every day though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Brit Boorman of Datasite Diligence

Greetings! We are grateful for your feedback and the time you took to share it. It's great to hear the notification settings by project have been helpful to keep the pace of updates and information manageable. Thank you for being a part of our community!

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

easy to navigate, filter and review contents. Q&A search function is good. Generally think the search and filter options are most used. easy to implement ideas to folder structures.

customer support and service appears good. I have not tried so cannot comments more specifically on this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

not easy to swap/navigate between Q&A function and VDR contents. too little viewing options - would prefer more compact viewing, dark screen options and more focus on doc contents. Use datasite frequently, i.e. 1-3 a week but the emails on newly added contents is not clear. Could be more organised and easy to spot actual contents uploaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi there! Thank you so much for your detailed review. We're really glad you've had a good experience with Q&A, search, and our customer support team. We appreciate your feedback on Q&A view options and new document alerts. I've shared them with our Product team. We truly appreciate your commentary and we look forward to working with you again. "One of the better dataroom providers"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

Among the different VDR providers out there this is one of the stronger ones. It's service is very professional and quick to respond. From contact to having a VDR set up, it's very very fast. Especially as a junior that is frequently using this service, I'm pretty content with it. It's very ease to set up a sandbox and also stage quickly. It's also rarely down or under construction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I think the UI can be updated. It feels quite outdated compared to Intralinks. It makes it less than intuitive than I would expect from a service this widely used. It can be confusing how to do certain things. I also think the app is not quite there. There is quite a bit they can do to make UI better on the web to make it more competitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

Hello, Sam. Thank you for taking the time to review Datasite Diligence! We are pleased that you and your team have found benefit in the platform's security, content staging, and lack of down time. "Datasite Positive Review"
5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

Datasite is very user-friendly and has capabilities that other data room providers don't have. I also like how readily available the support team is. I can get a hold of a rep very quickly and get the help needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I don't like that datasite emails everyone when a document us uploaded. This was an issue when we uploaded something and then adjusted permissions so a buyer couldn't see it. Then they emailed us asking about what was uploaded that they no longer have permission to. I wish there was some sort of delay in that notification being sent around so that there is a little room for error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Brit Boorman of Datasite Diligence

Hello!

Thanks for giving us your honest review; we genuinely value your perspective. We're love hearing how helpful you find our 24/7/365 Datasite Assist team.

Your feedback helps us grow, and we truly appreciate it.
