The platform is easy to use, and the customer support team is very efficient—you can usually get assistance quite quickly. Additionally, the data room includes useful features like a redact tool, which helps make work more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Occasionally, I find that I have to log in twice when using Datasite. Since I use it almost every day, this can be a bit frustrating. However, it's a minor inconvenience—just something that's a little annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi there, and thanks for your super-detailed review of Datasite Diligence! We are so glad to hear the support team has been helpful, and also that you've enjoyed the Q&A and redaction tools. If you ever need to do redactions outside of an active deal, we do have a free redaction tool in our Apps Marketplace - I'll put a link below. Comes in handy. We appreciate your note about logging in twice, and we've shared that with the Product team. We are so pleased that Datasite is helping you and your teams with workflow management, and serving as that single source of truth. We would be delighted and honored to support you again on future deals. Warmly, The Datasite Team

What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I find Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room very easy to use for both lawyers and clients, which is crucial in fast-paced deal environments. The AI integration is particularly helpful as it provides summaries of documents, streamlining the diligence process and making it faster. It's also convenient because it allows clients to upload large numbers of documents that can be reviewed on the side and easily marked as reviewed. Additionally, setting up is easy when a clear structure is pre-prepared. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Allocation of documents could be possible within the tool. For example, I should be able to mark the documents I intend to / have reviewed. It should be possible to both allocate and see who has been allocated documents on the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Brit Boorman of Datasite Diligence

"Intuitive Platform with Stellar Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I really like that Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room has a very good user interface and excellent customer service. Anytime I get stuck on something or have a question, customer service is there to help and they are super helpful. I also think it's a very complete platform with Q&A tools and redaction tools that have been improved with AI. It's very intuitive and makes it easy to categorize confidential information securely, with the ability to create subgroups and have selective review access, which is super powerful. The platform is also very easy to use and the setup involves just a few steps. If needed, a quick call to customer service gets things sorted out super quickly for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Sometimes when you try and download files, the file path is too long, and so it doesn't work. It's an issue rather on the Windows side of things, but when you create a lot of folders and subfolders and then the title of the document is long, you can't download the file. And it can be a bit annoying, so if that issue could be solved, that would be super good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi there, Thomas! Thank you so much for your detailed review. We are so pleased you've had helpful interactions with the support team, and that you're using Q&A and redaction, too. I love that you're trying some of those AI-enhanced features we offer! Your note on file path limitations is a pain point for us, too. You're correct that it's a Windows thing, but we understand your pain and will pass it along to our Product team. Again, thanks so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to read! We wish you a happy new year and we look forward to supporting you and your teams again in 2026. Warmly, The Datasite Team

"Secure and Efficient, But Needs Better Navigation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I like Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room for its robust security combined with intuitive deal-focused features. The granular permission controls give me the confidence to share sensitive documents securely. I find the built-in Q&A workflow and activity tracking streamline communication and visibility greatly. Its structured folder organization and quick search functionality make it fast and far less chaotic to navigate large volumes of due-diligence materials. I also appreciate that the platform offers strong security features, like multi-factor authentication and detailed activity logs. It simplifies collaboration by allowing reviewers to ask questions directly on documents and organizing responses. Additionally, the dashboard and logs enhance transparency and efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

Some features in Datasite Diligence can feel overwhelming for new users, and the learning curve is a bit steep. Navigation slows down when dealing with very large document sets. At times, the platform experiences minor performance lags. More transparent pricing or tiered plans would also be helpful. Navigation becomes challenging when deals contain thousands of documents, as folder structures load slowly and the search function isn’t always precise. It would help to have smarter filters, dynamic tagging, or AI-based document suggestions. At peak usage, there are occasional performance lags when opening or indexing large files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi there! Thanks so much for your highly detailed review of Datasite Diligence. We are very glad that permissions, Q&A, MFA, and reporting have been useful to you and your teams. What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I appreciate the ease of navigation that Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room offers. The interface is intuitive, making it straightforward to manage and access a wide range of documents, which is crucial for navigating through transaction data rooms. Additionally, the 'recent documents' feature is especially valuable as it allows me to quickly locate the latest uploaded documents without any hassle. These aspects contribute significantly to my productivity and ensure that sensitive information remains secure and accessible only to authorized parties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

The speed of logging into Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room is quite bad, which can cause frustration and delays. Additionally, the Q&A part is not as intuitive as I would like, making it cumbersome to section questions and answers effectively and filter among different question themes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi, Lévy! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us. We are so glad you've found the recent documents feature helpful - that's an area we've worked to improve in recent years. What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I appreciate Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room for its robust security frameworks that ensure the protection of confidential documents in accordance with compliance standards. The platform provides full protection against unauthorized access, securing sensitive data efficiently. I also value its accessibility and affordability, which makes it a preferable choice for my needs. The initial setup was remarkably swift, taking only a couple of minutes, which I find very convenient. Overall, these features contribute to a seamless and secure data management experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I believe the security settings require improvement, specifically the process for adjusting security passes. It would be beneficial if the system allowed these settings to be more easily edited by the main admin to streamline access control, ensuring that only those who need to access certain information can do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Data Management with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I love the ease and comfort of accessing all the data I store on multiple devices with Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room. This accessibility feature allows me to manage and share my files efficiently, ensuring that I can provide relevant data to any interested party whenever required. The platform gives me substantial control over the data sharing process, including deciding the type of access each user has, whether they can edit or view, and specifying the time limit for viewing. This control ensures that I can maintain the security and integrity of the data I share. Additionally, the initial setup of the Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room was quite easy and did not consume much time. It involved entering a few sets of information and configuring access parameters for team members, allowing me to start working swiftly and without hassle. The capability to easily navigate complex financial statements and retrieve the right documents, such as revenue files of specific financial years, showcases its effectiveness in saving me significant time and effort, which would otherwise be spent scrambling through numerous documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I think the rendering of the data room could be improved. Specifically, the way the data is stored could be more organized in terms of nomenclature, allowing automatic categorization. For instance, if I upload MIS and other similar files, it would be beneficial if the system could automatically suggest placing them in a 'financials' tab and intelligently bifurcate the data. Such a feature would be tremendously time-saving and enhance efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

Hello Vinit, and thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are glad the platform is helping you store and navigate critical documents quickly and streamline how you share information across stakeholders.

We also appreciate your feedback on enhanced tools for data organization. Our Product team is actively exploring ways to make document structuring and categorization even smarter and more automated. Insights like yours help guide these innovations and support our commitment to creating a more intuitive and efficient review experience.

Thank you for trusting Datasite! We look forward to supporting your future work.

The client interface stands out to me as a valuable tool, making client interactions smoother and more effective. I appreciate that it doesn’t lag, which ensures that my work processes are uninterrupted and reliable. The setup process was super intuitive and did not pose any difficulties, which significantly eased the transition to using the software. Overall, my positive experience with these aspects leads me to consider Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room a top choice, evident in my willingness to highly recommend it to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

I am frustrated with the client data management aspect of Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room, particularly because sometimes the data unexpectedly vanishes. This sudden disappearance of data is a serious concern because it can lead to potential loss of important information and disrupts my workflow during critical merger and acquisition processes. "Streamlined Data Access but Awaits Faster Downloads"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

I use Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room primarily for reviewing data room materials uploaded by the GP during fundraising activities, which is incredibly convenient. I really appreciate how it serves as a comprehensive platform, enabling me to download all the necessary materials such as marketing documents, LPA, PPM, underlying portfolio company data, and track records of previous fund performances all in one place. One of the standout features for me is the ability to perform bulk downloads of all files, which I can then save offline on my desktop for more detailed review at my convenience. The organization of folders is designed in such an intuitive and logical manner that it allows me to easily locate the GP's materials without any hassle. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be straightforward, allowing for convenient access, which has been a significant plus in terms of getting up to speed quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

There can be a time lag when performing a bulk download of materials due to large file sizes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Emily Ehlers of Datasite Diligence

Hi, Shawn! Thank you so much for all the details you included in your review about your specific data room use case. We are so pleased you find Datasite Diligence to be a comprehensive platform that fulfills your. needs. While I'm glad you're generally able to bulk download with ease, I'd recommend taking a look at some enhancements we've made recently. Our redesigned document preview is a favorite of mine - my own video posted below for reference. Gone is the old hover-pop-up preview; check out the inline viewer. I think you'll find document review a lot easier. Again, super pleased you've found Datasite to be an efficient review tool. "Polished, Secure, and Intuitive VDR"
5/5
What do you like best about Datasite Diligence?

What I love most about Datasite Diligence is how it combines rock-solid enterprise-grade security with an exceptionally intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes even the most complex due diligence feel fast and almost painless. The navigation is super easy, bulk uploads are a breeze, granular permissions are straightforward to set up, and the "view as" feature is incredibly handy for checking what different users can see. The AI-powered redaction is a real game-changer—it automatically detects and masks sensitive information like PII or account numbers across huge document sets, saving me tons of time. On top of that, the streamlined Q&A workflows, real-time activity tracking, dedicated 24/7 support, and the emerging generative AI tools (like document summarization) make the whole process so much smoother. In short, it's by far the most polished virtual data room I've used for sell-side M&A—secure, efficient, and actually enjoyable to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datasite Diligence?

The main drawbacks of Datasite Diligence that bother me the most are the performance issues—like occasional lag, slow uploads and downloads (especially with large files or bulk actions), and the frustratingly slow one-by-one document review process. The AI-powered redaction tool is often unreliable and doesn't work well enough, so I end up having to do most redactions manually anyway. There are also usability quirks that make things clunkier than they should be: overly complex permission setups, some unintuitive workflows, missing features like bulk downloads from multiple folders, and a steeper learning curve for new or external users. On top of that, the platform has limited customization options and some awkward elements in request tracking and Q&A. These frustrations show up the most on smaller or less complex deals, though it still holds up well for large-scale M&A. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sydney Ashmore of Datasite Diligence

Hi there, and thank you for such a thoughtful review of Datasite Diligence! We're honored to hear that the platform has proved a "game-changer" for your sell-side processes.

We appreciate your comprehensive feedback, as this allows our team to continue to further simplify your experience and deliver better outcomes. As such, we have passed this along to our Product team!

Regarding bulk downloads from multiple folders, we wanted to let you know that Project Admins and users with the appropriate permissions can actually bulk download content from entirety of a file room. If you'd like guidance with this or any other features, our Datasite Assist team is always available to help!

Thank you for trusting Datasite with your deals. We look forward to supporting your future success!
