## Datarails Reviews
 ### 1. Automates Reporting and Forecasting with Real-Time Financial Visibility!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Saves Time – Automates manual spreadsheet tasks, reducing time spent on data consolidation and reporting.
- Improves Accuracy – Minimises human error by centralising data and standardising financial models.
- Better Visibility – Gives real‑time access to financial performance, trends, and KPIs.
- Enhanced Collaboration – Teams can work from one version of the truth rather than sending spreadsheets around.
- Fast Reporting – Produces management reports and dashboards quickly and consistently.
- Scenario Planning – Makes forecasting and what‑if analysis easier and faster.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Slow Refresh Times – Large datasets or complex models can cause delays when syncing or refreshing.
- Dependent on Excel – Because it layers on top of Excel, issues in spreadsheets can still cause problems

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any issues we flag we raise to our CSM who regularly provides updates on any known issues / bugs.

 ### 2. Flexible, Feature-Rich FP&A Platform That Centralizes Planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth L. | FP&A Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

It’s a centralized FP&A system that’s very flexible and offers a wide range of features.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The setup is significant, and there’s a somewhat steep learning curve.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us address challenges with version control, manual consolidation, and the lack of a single source of truth across our forecasting and reporting processes. Previously, we relied heavily on multiple Excel files connected through manual links, which led to inefficiencies, increased the risk of errors, and made it difficult to maintain consistency across our outputs.

 ### 3. Solid Reporting and Helpful Training

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RICHARD G. | VP of Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Solid product with helpful training. The reporting portion of the tool works very well.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Not always easy to program. Need to learn the Datarails formulas. Time frame to work out bugs in the reporting portion of the tool.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the tool for forecasting and reporting Actuals vs Budget and Prior Periods.

 ### 4. All Our Budget Numbers in One Easy-to-Share Worksheet

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The best thing about Datarails is that I can keep all my budget numbers in a single worksheet, which is easy to share with others

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I like having all my numbers in one worksheet, but I don’t like that every time I update budget numbers I have to download and then resubmit the worksheet. It would be really helpful if there were a way to enter my updated numbers directly in Datarails, without needing to download and submit the file each time.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has helped us keep everything in one document, with only one version of the budget. In previous years, we ended up with multiple budget versions, and when updates were made in one place, they weren’t necessarily reflected everywhere else.

 ### 5. Efficient Data Integration, Needs Dashboard Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I use Datarails to analyze data at my company, which has over $4B in Assets Under Management. I appreciate how it helps me quickly pull data from different buildings into one Excel file. If I didn't have Datarails, I wouldn't be able to pull financial data from over a hundred buildings in a single file. What stands out to me is the ability to have multiple data sources and connect them all together. It's especially nice for us when dealing with Nursing Home Provider data, which we can link to financial data from our nursing homes through the same ID. Being able to connect multiple data sources quickly is extremely valuable as it saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The main room for improvement at Datarails is the dashboards. We have created multiple dashboards in Excel, which we have pushed to the web environment. However, it takes way too long to refresh once you filter to different portfolios or facilities. We have brought this up to the Customer Success Manager, and it appears that Datarails is working on a fix.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Datarails to quickly pull data from different buildings into one Excel file and connect multiple data sources, which saves a lot of time.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> We are so glad to hear Datarails is helping your team create a single source of truth while continuing to work in Excel, and that bringing together data from so many buildings and sources is saving you time.

It is also great to see you making use of custom dashboards and the ability to filter across portfolios and facilities. With that level of flexibility and data volume, performance can sometimes depend on the complexity of the underlying model.

We always appreciate hearing how we can improve, so please keep sharing feedback with your Customer Success Manager. Our team is always happy to help find the best solution for your use case. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience.

 ### 6. Great for ERP Data Automation, But Online Setup Can Be Complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan P. | Manager, FP&A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Automating the aggregation of ERP data between different systems.
- Provides useful pre-built financial templates.
- Allows user to work within familiar Excel environment and manually manipulate data.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Online environment feels complex at first, especially with locating and navigating data sources.
- Relinquish a bit of autonomy by no longer keeping aggregation and calculation of data fully in-house.
- Can be dependent of buy-in and acumen of IT team, creating a stakeholder that needs to help but does not see a lot of benefit.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is putting our three entities' data on a consolidated chart of accounts and providing us with consolidated / entity specific financials. Their use of best practices ensures our data is formatted optimally and can scale with additional acquisitions.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review Evan! It is great to hear that ERP data automation, pre-built templates, and the Excel-native experience are delivering value, and that Datarails is helping consolidate multiple entities optimally.

On the IT dependency point, we would love to understand more about what is requiring IT involvement on your end. Datarails is designed to be far less dependent on IT than most platforms, so please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to see if we can find a simpler path for your team.

As always, please reach out if there is anything we can help with!

 ### 7. Dynamic Reporting That Refreshes and Updates Effortlessly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rhys M. | FP&A Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The dynamic reporting. Being able to just refresh a report and have the figures update and new accounts appear.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The manual syncing with Xero. Due to the limitations of how much data can be synced a day with Xero, we can always sync on demand for our main entity.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Month end reviews with managers. The dashboard capabilities has made it really easy to create valuable insights into profit analysis. Also being able to build in depth P&L reports using the Datarails templates.

 ### 8. Drag-and-Drop Time Saver with Smooth NetSuite Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard C. | Senior Finance Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

the drag-and-drop interface saves me hours each week. performance is better than previous software used. Integrates well with Netsuite

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Whilst updates are better than previous software, they still could be faster.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster, slicker access to data Easier way to drill down into the financial transactions

 ### 9. Robust Real-Time Data Mining With Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason S. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Great data mining capabilities to build real-time information. The system is very robust and provides several opportunities for automation and efficiencies.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

High price point, hard to justify the expense for smaller companies

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Supply chain visibility is key to running smooth operations and higher customer satisfaction.

 ### 10. A Whole New World!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul S. | Financial Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Using a familiar platform like Excel makes everything more intuitive and easy to create the reports and dashboards you need.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Nothing so far! Everything is working the way I expected.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining a number of reporting and forecasting systems into one place. It has also enabled us to report across multiple data sources much easier.

 ### 11. Data Rails Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like that it is intuitive, I understand how the data flows, and it speeds up our month end reporting and budgeting processes

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are some items that would be helpful if data rails could do

For example:

-Writing formulas in the data mapper: Why can't these be made to be consistent with excel formulas. It makes it hard to teach the whole team how to map in data when there are nuances like having two equal signs on an IF statement
- When using DR.GET formulas to pull data into workbooks, I wish there was the ability to exclude a certain field similar to the DR.Include parameter

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A big item i see is it will improve our ability to forecast in a timely matter for decision making

 ### 12. Datarails Bridges Excel and FP&A with Clear, Easy Financial Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails does a great job of bridging the gap between MS Excel users and FP&A users. It builds on Excel’s strengths so end users can easily enter data, review it, and visualize financial information in a way that’s clear and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The Dr.Get formulas can be a little tricky at times, depending on how detailed you need the information to be. But this is easy to overcome over time.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re currently in the middle of an ERP implementation, and Datarails has been the bridge we rely on to consolidate all of our financials and budgeting in one place.

 ### 13. Excel Integration That Makes Reporting and Dashboards Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The Excel integration is a big one for me it didn't force us to abandon the way we already work, it just made it better. Consolidating data from multiple sources used to eat up so much time, and now reporting feels a lot more manageable. The dashboards are also a nice touch when presenting to stakeholders. On top of that, the customer support has been amazing. Jodat in particular was fantastic incredibly patient and walked us through the entire process without making us feel rushed at any point.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Some of the widgets are a bit restrictive when it comes to formatting things like font size and style aren't always customizable the way you'd expect. The KPI widgets in particular can be frustrating to get looking consistent across a dashboard. It's not a dealbreaker, but for something client-facing or exec-level, those small visual details do matter.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone in FP&A, budget vs actuals visibility used to require a lot of manual pulling and piecing together of spreadsheets. Datarails has made it much easier to see where we stand at any given point in the month without waiting for everything to be manually updated. It's saved real time and reduced the back-and-forth that used to slow down our planning cycles.

 ### 14. Effortless Financial Reporting and Enhanced Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I really appreciate the structure and logic built into the platform. In my opinion, this solution is excellent, especially considering that Netsuite is not the most user-friendly ERP when it comes to reporting. This tool has truly opened up new possibilities for visibility in reporting. What I like most is how easy it is to generate a Flash Report of the financials and how quickly we can dive into specific details.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are a few technical issues I've encountered. For instance, with some reports, certain rules only apply if we download the files and refresh them in Excel, or sometimes they need to be recalculated directly on the platform. This can make the process more time-consuming, as it requires additional validations. I also find it frustrating when more than two people are working on the same Excel file—it becomes nearly impossible to manage, especially when refreshing or submitting files. Another thing I don't like is having to constantly download files from Datarails, which results in multiple copies of the same file. I realize this might partly be my own fault, but it's something that bothers me because it makes it hard to keep track of different versions.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once we have our output files, it becomes very easy to pull financials instantly. Also, getting detailed information per account across several periods makes my job much simpler, as I can quickly spot deviations or potential errors. Personally, I am now able to provide information much faster. My next goal is to make greater use of the charts and begin customizing reports, so we can elevate our company reporting to the next level.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review! It is great to hear that Datarails has opened up new reporting possibilities, especially coming from NetSuite, and that our automated reporting and drill-downs are making your day-to-day so much faster.

On the recalculation issue and multiple file copies, Datarails updates changes across connected files in real time and has version control built in. If you are experiencing inconsistencies, it may be worth checking whether files are being opened from saved desktop versions rather than downloaded directly from the platform. If that is not the case, your Customer Success Manager can help troubleshoot and share some pro tips on keeping reports organized.

We love the ambition to dive deeper into charts and custom reports. We're always adding new features and capabilities to our dashboards, which can really take your company reporting to the next level, so exciting times ahead! As always, please reach out if there is anything we can help with.

 ### 15. Effortless Consolidation Across Multiple QB Instances

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim F. | Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The ability to consolidate and report on the nine separate instances in QB's online that I have. This platform was a way for me to keep the accounting systems in place without having to do a very costly implementation to a more robust platform.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I'm only getting done with the implementation as I write this and don't have negatives to speak of but I can say that on report editing and dynamic ranges, etc. it appears to require far more education on formula creation, etc for even a day to day excel user.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to stay with the current accounting system that is fine for our needs but giving the ability to consolidate and analyze data on the DR platform.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review, Jim! We're happy to hear Datarails is helping you consolidate and analyze your data while keeping your existing accounting systems.

 ### 16. Datarails is user-friendly with drillable dashboards but limited for non-QBO data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Romelie A. | Fund Accountant II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

What I like best about Datarails is its drillable capability, which makes analyzing data much easier and more efficient. I also appreciate how simple it is to create widgets once the data is datamapped. Lastly, the support chat is excellent—whenever I encounter an issue, the team is always helpful in providing solutions.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Creating dashboards or widgets using data outside of QBO can be challenging. The platform isn’t flexible enough to build tables with multiple columns pulling from different data sources. In addition, when comparing actuals and budgets (e.g., monthly from Jan to Sep), there’s no option to show separate grand totals. Currently, the grand total column combines both actuals and budgets, but it would make more sense to have one total for actuals and another total for budgets.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails helps consolidate and analyze financial data easily, allowing me to create drillable dashboards and gain insights faster. It also makes budgeting much easier and more organized, improving reporting efficiency and decision-making.

 ### 17. User-friendly platform that seamlessly transforms complex financial data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Izabella P. | Financial Operations Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

One of Datarails' most significant strengths is its capacity to translate complex information into a clear and concise format. The dynamic dashboard and storyboard capabilities are game-changing, providing a new level of financial understanding across the team. Our data accuracy and reporting efficiency are greatly enhanced by the platform's ability to integrate directly with our online accounting software for real-time data use.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Since I'm a new user, I haven't encountered any significant dislikes yet, though the initial learning curve has been noticeable as I get familiar with the platform

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating numbers in a visually accurate way for users to understand as well as cutting down hours of manual work to accomplish this.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thank you for sharing, Izabella! We’re glad Datarails is helping turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for your team, and that the integrations and streamlined reporting are saving you time and making it easier to communicate the numbers.

 ### 18. Great Excel Integration That’s Easy to Pick Up

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Excel integration is great - it works alongside our current models and is very easy to pick up
- Good customer support with a dedicated account manager looking after you
- Straightforward to use so less issues with excel formula gremlins and bugs
- Takes the automation out of work and allows us to value add

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Datarails formulas can be quite tricky to write initially to pull out the info you're looking for
- Whilst it works for us, the product does feel quite pricey

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Board reporting has historically taken a lot of time to finalise in month end. Using Datarails, it has made the process significantly faster and allowed us to focus more on value add activities during a busy time of the month

We have previously used excel to consolidate / bring together results - using Datarails has meant that there are less mistakes coming out of the woodwork due to excel formulas breaking etc

 ### 19. Powerful Consolidation for Complex Multi-Layered Business Models

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The ability to consolidate a complex multi-layered business with individual models. The potential to do more is very high aswell.

We had some issues with lack of support and this was rectified quickly and the team was helpful.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Our company structure has changed and this was a complex to adjust due to the set up and also as I stepped into something that was already built.

There are still some manual data dumps, I am unsure of why this was done, but something that could be resolved.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling incredibly large volumes of data to provide detailed models.

Consolidating a multi-segmented business into one streamlined model.

Handling multiple scenarios for multiple models.

 ### 20. Effortless Budgeting and Forecasting provide financial visibility for Project Engineers and Managers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

A few of the most helpful things about Datarails is the budget viewing, but also the forecasting. My role as a project engineer for my company tasks me with developing budgets for the project, but also tracking that spend as we progress through. The ease of seeing how much we have spent so far and how much we will be spending in the months moving forward, allows me to communicate with our finance team to ensure funding is where it needs to be when. The ease of integrating a traditional excel spreadsheet with a web based platform is super neat. For me this will just be 1-4 projects, but for our finance team managing scores of projects around the globe, this will be paramount.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The setup process is not super straightforward. If I didn't have an expereinced person guiding me on the first few, I would struggle a bit.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Death by excel spreadsheet, haha. Excel does it what it does well, but it would take an immense amount of setup and data management to transfer that forecasting for multiple projects in multiple regions.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> We hear you on the "death by spreadsheet" - that's exactly what we're here to help with! So glad Datarails is making it easier to manage budgets and forecasts across your projects and giving you clearer visibility with your finance team. Thank you for sharing, and we’re always here if you need anything along the way!

 ### 21. Robust Reporting with Seamless QBO Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G.

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I really like Datarails' integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO), which allows me to customize reports and drill down into more detailed analyses. I also enjoy the month-over-month variance analysis capabilities and the ability to integrate with Gusto, our labor platform, to develop comprehensive labor hours graphs, including direct, PTO, and overtime hours. Furthermore, the initial setup of Datarails was very easy, thanks to the excellent support provided by Ayelet, who was instrumental in getting me up to speed quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I am frustrated that many features aren't available in our current plan, which limits our ability to fully utilize Datarails. Additionally, we are restricted to only having 5 licenses, which can be a limitation for our team.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Datarails for robust monthly reporting and detailed drill-down graphs. It connects to QBO and Gusto, allowing for customized reporting and variance analysis. It's especially useful for creating labor hours graphs, enhancing our data insights.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you Ryan for the wonderful review! Seamless integration with platforms like QuickBooks Online and Gusto is something we take great pride in, so it is fantastic to hear that the variance analysis, drill-downs, and labor hours graphs are delivering real value for your reporting.

Regarding features, as your needs grow we can always build a more robust plan to scale with you. Feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager to explore what that could look like.

It is also wonderful to hear such kind words about Ayelet. We are glad she made the onboarding experience so smooth and efficient, and we will make sure to pass that along to her!

 ### 22. Transforms Financial Reporting with Seamless Excel Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven K.

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like Datarails because it allows me to work directly within Excel, making it easier to view data from my accounting ERP without having to download and manually map reports. I find the ability to drill down into underlying data within Excel really convenient. Additionally, the customer service is excellent and very helpful, which made the initial setup worth the time investment. The logic used to build formulas is intuitive, like a super flexible pivot table for my ERP.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The need to manually refresh every time something changes is mildly frustrating.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails allows me to consolidate financial data live from two accounting systems, view it in my desired format within Excel, and drill down into data without switching back to my ERP.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience. We love hearing that working directly in Excel and connecting to your ERP has made it easier to access and analyze your data. The ability to drill into underlying details while avoiding manual downloads is exactly the type of workflow Datarails is designed to support. It's great to hear that our Customer Success team helped make the setup process worthwhile.

Regarding refreshes, we understand it can feel like an extra step at times, but it ensures the data in Excel stays accurate and up to date with your source systems.

We appreciate the feedback and always enjoy hearing how customers are using Datarails. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

We consolidated our core platforms into a unified system, enabling cross-channel functionality and data integration that previously wasn’t possible.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

So far, I don’t have any complaints. I’m really enjoying it!

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us bring three websites together, which gives us a clearer view of our data and makes it much easier to understand and work with.

 ### 24. Flexible Excel-Native Reporting with a Smooth Datarails Implementation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

As an early-stage business that’s still “excel-native,” I really appreciate the flexibility Datarails gives me to build whatever type of report I need directly in Excel. On top of that, our implementation went very smoothly, and our implementation manager, Silviu Chiperea, did an amazing job throughout the process.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I’m hopeful that Datarails will scale with us, but my sense is that as we grow, it may not fully function as a true enterprise FP&A platform. That said, I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has saved me time and improved data integrity throughout the financial reporting and analysis process.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the great review! We're happy to hear that the Excel-native flexibility is already saving you time and improving data integrity at this stage of your journey.

Also, challenge accepted! Datarails is built to scale with growing businesses and serves enterprise FP&A teams across a wide range of industries. We would love nothing more than to make you a very happy enterprise client as you grow.

And a big thank you for the kind words about Silviu. We are glad he made the implementation process so smooth and we will make sure to pass that along to him!

 ### 25. Simple to Use, Powerful Reporting Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sofía P. | Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The ease of use is the number one thing I like about Datarails. The platform is simple to navigate, and the setup was so smooth that our team was able to start using it very quickly. It truly is the best product we have found for financial planning. It connects our data easily, and the way it handles financial reports is extremely fast and effective. My overall experience with Datarails has been the best. The software is truly a game-changer for our finance team. We especially appreciate how easy it is to create new reports and dashboards. Furthermore, the person who helped us with the implementation was excellent—highly skilled and supportive. The platform is powerful, very intuitive to use, and has delivered outstanding value for money. We have been completely satisfied during our first five months of use

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There have been no significant issues during our five months of implementation and use. The product meets all of our current needs, and we have no complaints so far.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) We no longer worry about broken links within Excel files or trying to manage multiple versions of departmental budgets and reports. Datarails centralizes all our financial and operational data in one secure place.
2) The process of collecting, consolidating, and processing data for reports was a huge time-waster. We used to spend days on manual work, like consolidating files and checking for errors.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful review, Sofía! We’re really glad to hear how quickly your team got up and running and that Datarails has made reporting, dashboards, and data consolidation easier and more reliable for your finance team. We’re excited to keep supporting you as you continue using the platform!

 ### 26. Visual, User-Friendly Dashboards with Flexible Data Uploads and Excel Add-In

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like how visual datarails is - especially for the end user. It's also very good allowing you to upload different sets of data and create dashboards off the back of it. I also really like to excel add in - allows you to still use excel

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The only thing I would say could be improved is how tables are shown in dashboards and being able to show variances across different sets of data

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have large amounts of data - so datarails is very good at visualling these large datasets

 ### 27. Top-Notch Dashboards and Reporting with a Powerful Excel Add-In

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The built-in reporting capabilities are great. The dashboards and stroyboards are top notch. The other thing that is great is that it provides an Excel add-in capability where that is not always available. That capability provides an avenue to live data extraction that really helps automate processes.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Integration is a little harder than I expected. This may be because of the system I use, but the journey to map data was harder than I wanted it to be. Onboarding also is taking more time than I wanted. The challenge of adopting to a new solution is time consuming and each business is different. I don't think this is an issue of Datarails (software or people). More of the user.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I expect it will reduce or eliminate transactional work and drive awareness.

 ### 28. Seamless Data Integration That Saves Time and Effort

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The most important things that I found within the Data Rails software is the seamless integration of mapped data into the various spreadsheets used for: budgeting, forecasting, and analytics on the P&L as well as the Balance Sheet. This software is able to reduce a lot of the manual labor and time spent in recreating spreadsheets monthly or yearly. Another feature that I really enjoy about Data Rails is the uploading system. It is very easy to connect a file to a file box or submit the document back to Data Rails.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

One of the largest issues that was faced during the implementation for our organization was the disruption caused from the Mac download of Data Rails. Because of this, many of the equations that were created on the Windows version were now named "busy" and some employees lost all their work for the day.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Rails is helping us speed up the process of month close through automation created by our reports that automatically feed in time accurate data into the report.
Data Rails is also helping our company to have a more efficient place to create budgets that allow all the department supervisors to upload their budgets directly into Data Rails.
Data Rails has also allowed us to have an easier analysis of our monthly and annual costs, expenses, income, & profit through the created P&L, Financial Statement Summaries, and Balance Sheets.

 ### 29. Flexible Model Development with a Single Source of Truth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** raj m. | Commercial Finance Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

the flexibility to develop models and one source or truth

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

dashboard functionality could be better and the support teams only work via email which cuases delay

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

one source of truth, forecast automation

 ### 30. Report Templates That Save Us Tons of Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like that I can use the templates to design new reports in a fraction of the time. It’s going to be a great help to our business. We will undoubtedly use it everyday in finance.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I found it difficult to make time to set up Datarails and it was somewhat complicated at first. Integration was easy, but the data mapping was more challenging but the customer support from the implementation team was great guiding us through.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Close month-end much faster
- Investigate difference in month-end faster and more accurately
- Create spreadsheets and reports faster and with more accuracy
- Design new reports and insights into the business

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for sharing! It’s great to hear the templates are helping you build reports so much faster and making a real difference in your day-to-day finance work, especially around month-end and analysis. Glad our team could support you through setup as well, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

 ### 31. Datarails, your new best friend

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails significantly simplifies the often challenging process of data consolidation, particularly when working with multiple ERPs. The dashboards offer clear and intuitive insights that are valuable to different stakeholders throughout the organization. We've consistently found their customer support to be helpful, and the integration and implementation process has been smooth and positive for us.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Our primary issue with Datarails is the cumbersome nature of its Excel Add-In feature. While it functions well, Excel workbooks that contain multiple tabs and Datarails references tend to take a long time to load and refresh. We would prefer if the add-on were more streamlined and efficient, rather than feeling so bloated.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has saved us significant time each week by streamlining the consolidation of our financial statements. Previously, we managed multiple ERPs with different general ledger account structures and configurations, which meant we spent an excessive amount of time manually consolidating our financials. Now that we have set up all our mappings in Datarails, our financials are consistently consolidated and always reconcile accurately.

 ### 32. One-Click Financial Updates That Save Hours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I used to spend multiple hours pulling down individual pieces of data from our ERP system. With DataRails and the literal click of a button, my financials are updated and ready for review!

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The most challenging thing I've run across is the data mapper and ensuring it is mapped correctly. Our Customer Success Manager, Frank, has been fantastic in getting most everything mapped for us, but I want to ensure I know how it's done for the future. This will just come with time.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataRails is helping us consolidate our reporting in a much more efficient and organized format!

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for your review! It’s great to hear Datarails is saving you hours and making it so easy to keep your financials up to date, while helping bring more structure to your reporting. Glad Frank has provided meaningful support, and we’ll be sure to pass this note along to him. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

 ### 33. Easy, Intuitive Tool That Unlocks Powerful Management Reporting Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe N. | Head of FP&A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The product is easy to use and intuitive for the whole finance function. We primarily use it to provide insight into our management reporting and we've been able to unlock key insights we'd never previously had access to.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Required assistance from the integrations team to be able to set up the product. However once this was done it works great and don't need further assistance.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to drill into more granular data by unlocking different department tagging. The ease of the excel add in and formula's makes this accessible for the whole team.

 ### 34. The reporting tool that everyone wants from the other BI platforms but can't match!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard . | VP of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The tool is extremely flexible and really helps automate the manual mapping files that are typically used in summary reports and consolidations. The ability to track version changes and share data across multiple user groups makes the tool very valuable in scenario analysis.

Compared to other SaaS companies, I have never had an onboarding experience like Datarails. The team instinctively knew where we wanted to get and efficiently got us to that goal without making the process overwhelming. I was expecting to have to learn a whole new language and buy huge training manuals from Amazon, that could not have been further from the truth.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Given the complexity of the source data and the functionality of the tool it can be difficult to troubleshoot when you first start using the tool. But again, the implementation and support teams have been right there to support and teach you how to fix those problems.

I hope that I can find more time to experiment more in the system to pull in other sources of data to further enhance the forecasting and budgeting processes.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Datarails we had to rely on the standard basic reports directly from our ERP and any customized summary reports had many complex manual mappings that often resulted in errors in the data. Now those summaries are all automated and reconciled automatically and it saves a ton of time and low value effort.

 ### 35. A Game-Changer for Cash Flow Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael K. | Director of Finance and Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I first discovered Datarails during the Sage Future conference, where I participated in a demo of their cash management tool. Immediately, I was intrigued—our 13-week cash flow projection process had always been a challenge. It often took half a day each week just to reconcile past activity with our cash balance while also trying to project forward.

Datarails has completely transformed this process. By connecting seamlessly with both our bank accounts and Sage Intacct ERP system, what once took hours now takes about 15 minutes per week. With the help of our implementation partner, we set up the system correctly to capture operating expenses and reconcile actuals, which has greatly improved the accuracy of our cash flow forecasts.

The out-of-the-box dashboards are another highlight. They give me quick, clear insights into cash on hand, our 13-week cash flow, top AR contributors, and top AP vendors—making reporting to management not only easier but more effective.

We’ve tried other software integrations with Sage Intacct before, but none came close to the ease of use and efficiency that Datarails offers. The tool has saved us significant time, improved accuracy, and elevated the quality of our reporting. I’m very happy we made the switch and am excited to explore more Datarails products moving forward.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

None so far, we are more than pleased with the product.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has solved the time-consuming and error-prone process of managing our 13-week cash flow projection. Previously, reconciling actual cash activity with our forecasts could take up to half a day each week. Now, with Datarails seamlessly connecting to both our bank accounts and Sage Intacct, it takes about 15 minutes. This integration provides more accurate, up-to-date forecasts and frees up valuable time for analysis instead of manual reconciliation. Additionally, the built-in dashboards give us clear visibility into cash on hand, AR, and AP, which has improved both reporting and decision-making for our leadership team.

The platform excels at automating financial reporting while allowing users to stay within Excel. The version control and real-time data consolidation save significant time during month-end closes.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The initial implementation can be time-consuming and requires a steep learning curve for complex custom mappings. Some users may find the interface slightly laggy when dealing with very large datasets.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has significantly reduced the manual effort required for our financial planning and analysis. It bridges the gap between traditional spreadsheets and sophisticated BI tools, providing a more reliable "single source of truth" for our team.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

It’s frustrating having to click “Connect” every time I’m working in Excel.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails will, without a doubt, save our team 2–3 days’ worth of work during the month-end close. It will also serve as a database that our company previously didn’t have, helping us centralize information that was missing before.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> It's great to hear that the implementation is going well and that you and your team are already excited about the impact Datarails will have. Helping finance teams work more easily in Excel is exactly what the platform is built for, and we're so glad our team has been helpful throughout the process.

A very smooth transition, the team always had the answer to my queries during the entire setup process.
