DataOps TestGen is an open-source data quality tool. Point it at a database and it profiles every table and column, 55 characteristics per column, then generates data quality tests from the profiling results, so coverage doesn't depend on how many rules someone had time to write by hand. It runs the tests on a schedule and monitors freshness, volume, and schema changes, with history, so you can see when a check started failing. Hygiene review flags bad data in new tables before anyone builds on it. The open-source edition includes the full web UI, a CLI, and an MCP server, so AI assistants like Claude and Cursor can profile, test, and set monitors under your own role. It connects to 14 databases, including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, plus CSV, Parquet, and JSON files in S3 or Azure Blob. The open-source and enterprise editions run the same engine and UI; enterprise adds multi-user access, SSO, and support. Apache 2.0.
