Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:
I think it is a great SQL development tool, however, if you plan to use it for heavy SQL development, this might not be what you are looking for. The price is a bit expensive, but it improves if you plan to have a perpetual license. But I would like to see the roadmap for the product before planning to invest in it. What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of my client's services and the professional services team have switched to data management because it is much easier to use. We frequently have to query our databases to extract information and sometimes write to the database. Most of the team has experience in SQL, but not everyone is an expert in database structure. Additionally, with different environments having different builds, DataGrip makes it easier to autocomplete elements like tables and columns that may differ from one database build to the next.
