**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier P. | Ingeniero de soporte de aplicaciones, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It is reliable and powerful. It is a database manager with extensive support for different database engines. I am amazed that DataGrip can handle MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, MongoDB, and much more. I also found that I can use different databases at the same time. Also, it has an excellent autocomplete feature.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I have not managed to carry out version management of projects with Git, there is very little documentation about it.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

This is by far one of the best database client software, due to its extensive support for different database engines and also because of its compatibility with different operating systems.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with multiple databases can be difficult when handling different database engines, luckily with DataGrip we can create, import, export different database managers and we can even create elegant data models.

  ### 2. A powerful database client. It has a friendly UI and is cross-platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto D. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

- It is a software that has support for the most traditional database managers such as MySQL or Oracle, as well as for the most modern ones such as MongoDB or Azure SQL.
- It has a friendly UI and nice syntax highlighting.
- It has an autocomplete function so that the queries are highlighted much faster.
- It is a multiplatform software.
- It has support for Vim and Bash.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

- There are not many resources online to help.
- The UI consumes a lot of resources.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

This is by far the best database client for Windows and Linux. I recommend purchasing the professional version if you perform tasks on different databases.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with multiple databases can be tricky, since there are relational and non-relational databases, but with DataGrip we can work with both simultaneously, as well as we can perform data import / export tasks. Also, it allows us to easily create data models for clients.

  ### 3. Important database consolidation software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It is indispensable to create a highly explicit and booming database. I use SQL frequently, it has definitely given me an excellent setup from the start. It integrates very well with different platforms and software. Its support is very good and the interface much better.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I would sincerely improve a couple of details: performance optimization for slightly outdated computers and a lower price.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

It solves the problem of data management for any type of company, it is only necessary to integrate with the internal system and locate the most important elements. It is very fun, has a lot of practice and is an extremely effective software.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a direct integration with the company's general database, we can have a considerable backup of each element. We made a direct relationship by programming the system with a circuit of customers and now we can have a complete profile of various people.

  ### 4. Supreme IDE for SQL

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irma M. | Reporting Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip is one of the most beloved apps of mine when it comes to SQL. The main reason why I love this application is the ability to easily connect to all types of databases, whether they are Oracle, MySQL or MSSQL. It has flawless connectors and the ability to join different databases together is quite useful.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

In my opinion, updates are the most annoying features of DataGrip. They usually popup every month. I would love Jetbrains to fix this, by automatically updating application without any user confirmation.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Definitely worth every penny. DataGrip has trial period to test everything out and trust me after the trial period expires you are going to buy the whole package.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip saves me a lot of time. For instance I no longer need to remember table names or column names. Auto database introspection combined with autocomplete and suggestions make complex scripts much easier to write.

  ### 5. DataGrip is a reliable and functional database design tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus A. | Full Stack Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

In our organization we have different apps and services in different types of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle and Cassandra. The best thing is that DataGrip allows us to manage them all without problems. I also like this software because it has IntelliSense for auto-completion, regardless of the type of database I am working on. I also like that the payment for your subscription has a convenient price and that it is paid annually.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The only thing I dislike about DataGrip is that it consumes a large amount of memory, which means that running it on a low-performing computer will be complete torture.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

DataGrip has different types of licenses at affordable prices. It has IntelliSense and all of JetBrains' own customization options. I also appreciate the fact that it supports a wide variety of databases.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip has IntelliSense, so writing commands to the database has never been easier. Its user interface is highly customizable, allowing me to work more comfortably. Also, I can manage different types of databases without problems.

  ### 6. A modern, fast and functional tool to manage databases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

What I like most about DataGrip is its GUI, because it is modern and customizable. It is possible to choose the theme, either black or dark. This software is very fast for simple and advanced queries. I also like the fact that it is cross-platform software. Also, it supports a wide variety of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server, MariaDB, MongoDB and more. On the other hand, it integrates perfectly with PyCharm.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I have not found any issue in DataGrip. I am really satisfied with this product, because it offers a modern and clean user experience for databases.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

DataGrip is a very customizable tool, it is possible to configure a dark theme easily. Supports a wide variety of relational and non-relational databases. In addition, it has an affordable price.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently I am working with multiple relational and non-relational databases, so I resorted to using DataGrip which allows me to manage them without problems. I benefit from the fact that it works on different operating systems. Also, its import and export tools work very fast, saving me time.

  ### 7. Must-have IDE for SQL

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariam K. | Information Technology Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The best thing about DataGrip is that it accelerates the script-writing process drastically by giving useful suggestions to users to complete names of tables columns and etc, In my case, I have saved a lot of time because DataGrip saves the previous script in the console, this helped me a lot because I tend to forget saving scripts/

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The biggest concern that I have about DataGrip is that it is a very resource-hungry application. It takes most of my RAM, just because it has no native feature to export SQL data to xlsx format. This is a pretty huge deal for me.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Highly recommended. Definitely a must-have application for everyone who deals with SQL databases.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip has made me a lot faster. I am much more efficient and I do most of my work within seconds.

  ### 8. Excellent Multi Database IDE tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Armando C. | Data Engineer / Business Intelligence / IT Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The possibility to connect with major database (Oracle, SQL server, mysql, postgresql, etc) providers in one place, also the compatibility to execute sql syntax from different vendors, also the help provided by hints or suggestions depending on database.

Easy configuration of drivers of different vendors and the ability to add jdbc files if they do not have the database integration.

Export tools are very handy when it comes to move data from one database to another.

Up-to-date offering of cloud databases like Amazon Redshift, Google Bigquery and Azure Datawarehouse.

Integration with multiple operating systems like windows, IOS and linux.

Continuous software releases that fix or add new features and capabilities.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Sometimes the application does not safe correctly the current environment, as well as database connection, so I have to configure it every time it happens.

Sql format is difficult to configure or sometimes it suggests non desire format.

Some times all the features are overwhelming and difficult to find at first.

Window management of sql scripts are hard to manage and difficult to find.

There are no community edition, you have only 30 day trial.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

My advice is that you should review other vendor tools, for example DBeaver, verify pros and cons about specific database default IDE tools, review operating systems compatibility.

Check the list of supported databases and the license prices and bundles, also ask if in the future they are going to implement any community edition.

Check the site for roadmap about bigdata tools like hive, etc. as Well as integration with other version control systems.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to Have just one Database development environment for multiple databases, that works transparently with different sql syntax and functions.

The ability to have a compatible tool from different operating systems.

  ### 9. Very comfortable for scripting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gela K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The best of, I like about Datagrip, is that it downloads the whole schemas at once, and then it is very easy and fast for me to write scripts and do some manipulations. when all the columns and names are pre-saved, it is very comfortable to work with its suggestions, even not connected to the data sources.
Also, it has various query languages integrated, like Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and many others.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

It has no good data extraction tool, when I want to extract a big amount of data, for example in Excel it may crash.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

It is a very helpful tool for people who are working with SQL.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am doing a lot of scripting with Datagrip and it is very helpful tool, for people who work with SQL.

  ### 10. Great database tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Ability to easily find the features you need

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Minor things, like visually unclear way of showing boolean values

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to incorporate ssh tunnel into database connection within DataGrip, instead of ssh-ing separately

  ### 11. Scripting gets easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zauri K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I like the best of Datagrip, that it has a good suggestion system. You mark the data sources you want to work with and it stores all the information about the table, and hen scripting becomes very fast and easy. Also, you can change any aspect of the interface as you wish.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

There is nothing much to tell. It would be good if Datagrip had a good data extraction tool.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

I would recommend it to people who need a tool for scriptwriting, it will eas there lives.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do a lot of scripting with its help and it is very comfortable.

  ### 12. Database Design Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morsi D. | Backend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip (DG) supports several database design languages including MySQL, Postgresql, oracle, MIcrosoft SQL server, mongoDB,, sqlite and so very many more. This means that it is not language specific IDE and you can even add more JDBC drivers to support more languages that aren't supported by default.

This tool is an extremely powerful data editor which lets you add, remove, edit, and clone data rows. You can navigate through your data using foreign keys and there is 'Ctrl + F' key combination that you can use to search though data listed in the table editor. You can save all your changes locally and submit them once you're sure everything is okay. You can even edit multiple fields at the same time.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

It is not a secret that all of Jetbrains products are expensive and DG is not exempted from this plague. It is also memory consuming which means running it on a common laptop is a strenuous time-consuming activity because it will freeze the computer a lot.
Performaces gets even slower when you're working with high volume databases. For instance, my current database is more than 13mbs in size and it is a painful process editing it on DG

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

What you have to remember is that this tool is not exactly friendly to beginner database designers and you need a little bit of experience to utilize it fully, remember you've bought it.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where I used to use phpmyadmin and sql terminal integration to create my databases and perform CRUD operations on them, databgrip has revolutionised how I do this. Thus is because more expressive databases require better visualization and management all of which I've found in DataGrip.

  ### 13. A great IDE for all the SQL dialects.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It supports all the things — MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift — and provides a unified interface to access them. It provides great automation for querying/editing procedures, etc.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

It can be a bit memory-intensive at times, but not overly.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to access all data across multiple SQL flavors as well as designing databases.

  ### 14. Powerful and functional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramon D. | Full Stack Pleno Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It has a very beautiful design, dark colors, many functions on the first page, avoiding opening several menus to accomplish something, you can make multiple local or remote connections, with different databases, to old databases, installing the driver that need, if not on the platform by default.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The datagrip is far superior to competitors, which only connects to 1 database at a time and has a very outdated design and interface bugs, I can't see flaws and things I don't like about it.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Datagrip offers package for students, make sure you can use it, test it and see if it meets your needs.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to connect with local databases to develop and test on my computer, but also need to connect with remote databases, some use MYSQL, some postgres, and even firebird, with datagrip, I can query all of them on same program without difficulties.

  ### 15. Leading IDE for SQL

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pavle S. | Financial Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The SQL IDE are many on the market, but not many of them are packed with features like DataGrip. I personally have been using this application for years and it has become my daily driver. The biggest pro of DataGrip is its automated indexing of tables. It gives you the option to autocomplete the names of the columns even if they are in a different database.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The biggest con of the DataGrip is that setup takes much time. It is tedious to configure everything despite the fact that this one-time effort saves you a lot of time in the future. I would love to see DataGrip with the feature to automatically import configuration from other SQL applications.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If you are struggling with SQL scripting or just need a better coding solution, then DataGrip is for you.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing SQL scripts have never been easier. Its great visual and very userfriendly interface accelerated my SQL learning process. I would say that it greatly improved my effectiveness at work.

  ### 16. My search for an all round database client is OVER!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradly A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I have a small software company with a few different applications on a few different platforms, so I have some MySQL databases, a PostgreSQL database, and some MSSQL databases I manage. I hated cycling between tools to manage each one. After comparing all the options, I decided on DataGrip and I am glad I did. A few of my favorite features: Autocomplete (intellisense) works perfect no matter what database I am in. I like the feature where when I click Run, it only runs the query my cursor is in. I hate having to highlight the exact query I want to run like most other apps require. I also love that I can update data in the results view just by editing the data and committing the changes. I have all my database connections saved on the left with all my different saved sql files on the pane for easy access. I like that DataGrip is a very reasonable price as well. They do charge an annual license, but I like that it does have a fallback perpetual license, which means I don't have to renew after a year if I dont wan't, and I will just have the same version I had when I first signed up. I will probably go this route unless they come out with some great new features in the next year I can't live without.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

My one major complaint is the inability to rearrange a modified table (in MSSQL at least, not sure about the others). When you modify a table to add columns, they get placed on the end. I like my columns to be in the right order, so I have to use MSSQL management studio in order to do this. I know under the hood MSSQL management studio just drops the whole table and recreates it, so I don't know why DataGrip can't do this as well. Sure would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Priced very affordably, you can't go wrong with DataGrip. They offer several types of licences and several types of discounts (Startup, education, etc) so they make it affordable for anyone. I appreciate their personal license is as cheap as it is since that is what I use.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have multiple database management applications to manage all my databases. I can manage them all from one app which I have open at all times. I don't have to get used to features in one app but not in the other. DataGrip has a ton of features and I am slowly learning more of the hidden ones. I would say my database development time has drastically gone down since having DataGrip, mostly due to the awesome autocomplete and being able to edit data in the results.

  ### 17. Very easy to set up new databases

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel N. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2019

  ### 18. Code in SQL with much less effort

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irma A. | Project Specialist, Banking, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Before we start, I would like to mention the fact that DataGrip is my favourite application.
DataGrip is an essential part of every SQL user. It is the best IDE on the market with many different features that simplify the lives of many. The strength of DataGrip that seems to be the most important to me is its schema navigation. I personally have not seen a more simplified and comfortable schema navigation system in any SQL IDE.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The biggest disadvantage of DataGrip is that it is somewhat hard to set everything up. Connecting to databases sometimes is impossible, I do not know why but it happens. But this is still a very rare and minor bug.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Great Tool to improve SQL coding skills. Recommended.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time that I saved using DataGrip is enormous, especially at the beginning of my career. It is very beneficial to new and advanced users alike.

  ### 19. DataGrip - Genuinely The Best IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giorgi I. | Data Scientist, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip has been my daily companion for several years. The biggest advantage of using it is that you save an enormous amount of time. It is almost effortless to navigate through tables and databases which is really great. I personally believe that DataGrip is one of the best IDE-s that I have ever seen.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I think the biggest con of DataGrip is its output tabs (consoles). It is very important to easily and comfortably navigate through those tabs. DataGrip does not allow users to quickly close the tab like for instance Google Chrome, which does not resize the tab when closing tabs one by one fast enough.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Frankly, the best tool to work in if you are dealing with SQL Databases

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate the benefits that DataGrip provides. It is important to write scripts and work with databases fast and efficiently. There is no other IDE that provides the same benefits.

  ### 20. Best Database Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satish P. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The most useful or best thing in Datagrip is its multiple database providers integration. It provides to connect almost all the databases from legacy to modern ones. It is easy to use and very good software. I can easily connect any local or remote databases in no time. Datagrip is must have tool for managing all your personal or enterprise database at one place. It has good SQL console to perform queries on the database.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Sometimes It takes time to start. Preferences menu are confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

No

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Datagrip to manage all my local and remote databases. It keeps all my databases at one place.

  ### 21. Beautiful and Useful IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giorgi K. | Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I would argue the DataGrip is one of the best applications that I have ever used. The best part is that it is highly customizable and can read different SQL syntaxes and automatically correct syntax mistakes that would take hours to find on conventional SQL applications. The possibility to connect to different databases at the same time is also a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

In my opinion exporting data seems to be relatively hard if you want to export data with a particular extension. This forces users to find and install questionable plugins, which in many cases are buggy. Other than this there is almost nothing that I dislike about this application.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

One thing that I would advice you is to try it. That's it, I am sure that anyone who does try it will definitely love it!

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the best IDE I have ever seen. Really great for beginners and professionals. DataGrip makes lives of SQL coders much easier and organized.

  ### 22. Best Visualization software for SQL users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giovanni G. | Freelance Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip is the best visualization software of SQL code.Writing SQL scripts are much easier. Besides visual part, I love that I can connect to multiple databases at the same time and all of them are automatically indexed. In addition, DataGrip provides users with an opportunity to install numerous plugins.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The plugin support is not great. If software lacks something that you need, you have to rely on 3rd party plugins that might impact the performance and reliability of Datagrip. It would be great to allow users to customize DataGrip even more.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

It really is the best IDE for SQL

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip has simplified lives of many by increasing productivity of SQL database coders. I also saved time by integrating different databases together. Also big time was saved because of DataGrip's amazing indexing. It indexes everything, so taking tables from may different databases is very easy.

  ### 23. One tool for managing all your databases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orkhan M. | Software Developer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

If you have some remote or local database and you want to manage it this is the right tool for you. It is able to connect any kind of database and execute commands on the database. If you are not into writing database commands you can complete the tasks with mouse just selecting and clicking. It provides very intuitive window for data visualization and table creation. Moreover, one of the painful part of the database for the developers is to create the diagram for the database. However, if you have created your database, this tool will create the diagram for you.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

As it is common tool for all the databases there is not specific feature for specific databases, for example it is not able to differentiate commands for Oracle database and MySQL database. Therefore whenever you have an error you need to check the error codes from the database. Moreover, the connection time to the time to the database is a bit slower.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

As it i common interface for all the databases it is not database specific and while you are executing commands please be sure that the command is compatible for the selected database.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working as a web developer and at the same time I am managing many databases for the applications, for me it is so difficult for managing each database from different windows. However, with the help of the tool I am able to manage all the database from one place and save my time.

  ### 24. Make your experience better

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rati K. | Junior Analyst, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip is the most advanced IDE for working with SQL and in general relational databases. I think that its strong suit is an autocomplete feature. DataGrips autocomplete is quite different as it indexes all the tables from the schema.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I think that the biggest con of DataGrip is the absence of a plugin management tool. I think it would be so much better to have some sort of verified plugin installer to get quality plugins directly from DataGrip.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Solid choice, I am sure that you will love it.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip saves me a lot of time every day. I think that I have greatly improved my coding skills after the installation of DataGrip.

  ### 25. DataGetting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It is an incredibly easy tool to use and pick up while being incredibly clean looking and very customizable to use however you want to use it. In terms of languages, its incredibly flexible and you are able to simultaneously use numerous kinds of them for different things. Connecting to databases as well is also very easy and can all be done on a single screen.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Sometimes can be kind of slow to load on startup, I have issues with soft wraps as well and wish there was a way from settings to disable them being re-turned on by default upon application restart.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

The company that makes DataGrip is great and really seem to have a good understanding of what developers want and need to be the most productive.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been incredibly useful as a centralized data tool. I know many developers use terminal to do their database querying needs but DataGrip allows for me to keep track of all of my past queries so that they can be used for later use. In this sense, organizing batches of queries and functions for different coworkers or clients has been easy and has made it much more efficient for me to do. The convenience of exporting results has also made transferring the data I fetch from their much more easy which once again boosts my productivity and gives my coworkers and clients access to whatever it is they need.

  ### 26. LOVE the features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clay A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I love the ability to quickly search for database tables and routines. Just start typing and results show up! I love that it works with many types of database. I use MySQL, Postgres, and SQL Server across my different projects, and love that I can work with them all in one db manager. I also love that I can edit table data right in the grid. Just double click a table, edit the db, and click save. I also like that I can filter table data in the grid as well. Just type field = 'xxx' and bam, it shows up just like if I took the time to write a query. So much to like about Datagrip, I've been looking for a good all in one db manager and glad I found it, definitely worth the price. Also SQL autocomplete works awesome. This is one feature missing from all the open source options.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The only thing I have 1 major grip about: I can't rearrange db columns in existing tables, at least for SQL server. I am always adding fields, but I like for them to be in the right order. When you modify a table with Datagrip, it just sticks it at the end. If you are creating a new table you can rearrange, but not for existing. I have to bust out Sql Server Management Studio to do this.I'd love for this to get fixed!

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Worth the price! Very stable, TONS of feature, by far the best all round db manager I have found.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can now do all database work in 1 db manager, rather than 3. Love that I can just have one app open to handle all my databases.

  ### 27. Very useful but too Expensive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It keeps its local history and is committing it to remote when you wish.
We can jump to any table, view, or procedure by its name very simply.
With its code completion writing SQL comments very easy.
Detecting probable bugs is a plus for DataGrip.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The biggest con of the DataGrip is that it is too expensive for Personal usage or for small companies.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If you can afford it I suggest you to buy DataGrip after Trial period.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can connect to multiple different databases and it is downloading needed libraries for connecting this database.

  ### 28. The best database management tool for developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elgun M. | Software Security Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

With the help of DataGrip you can connect any database server locally or remotely and you can all the database manipulations. The installation and usage of the application very easy and everything seems intuitive for the users. Moreover, on of the painful part of the database management is creating the database diagram, but with the help of this application you can create the diagram for your application very easily with just a few clicks.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The only problem is that this application is not a native tool for the databases and it is not easy to debug the errors because most of the time it does not show the errors. The another problem is that there is no specific code checking for each database scripting, for example there could be some data type which is only used in Oracle and when you try to use it with MySQL it does not show any error to you.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

When you write script make sure that the language is compatible with your database server

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a software developer and I have a small startup, I am using this tool for managing my application database.

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Personally, I love DataGrip's navigation features. It is very easy to create tabs and run several SQL scripts simultaneously. I also loved that I could open a new output console for every query that I run, this allows me to compare outputs easily.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I dislike DataGrips outlay. It looks very old and it feels that you are not working in a nice-looking application. I also think that having a pure black background would be pretty cool to have.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

DataGrip is an essential tool for every analyst. I definitely recommend it.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip boosted my efficiency by decreasing time spent on coding.

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The best thing about this wonderful IDE is that it is very easy to use and it facilitates the coding process. DataGrip allows users to navigate through multiple databases. Auto-complete and auto-correction features are one of the best on the market.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I think some plugins are buggy and crash DataGrip very easily. Plugins are considered to be third party addins but if they were somehow filtered it would be so much better.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

The most advanced IDE on the market. Definitely buy this!

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip facilitated process of working in SQL. It improved time spent on code writing, navigation and etc. It truly is inseparable part of every SQL user.

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip immensely boosts productivity due to dozens and dozens of functions and tools at your disposal. It is created for professional SQL developers. Queries can be performed in different modes, and the local history is offered to allow activity tracking. The schema navigation capability lets developers work on any view, procedure, and table from its use in SQL or via the corresponding action. DataGrip also offers extended understanding of how queries work and some insights on the behavior of the database engine. Its smart code completion functionality offers context-sensitive code completion to let developers write SQL code faster. Bugs in SQL are even detected, and it recommends to users the best way to address them.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

It can be somewhat pricey and heavy on the system as the app is loaded with features. Also it has a pretty long learning curve and beginner developers might be overwhelmed with the abundance of new tools.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If you can afford it - definitely go for it. It has everything one might need to interact with a database and more. Support is great, they reply nearly instantly and solve every little issue I've had. It's worth it.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataGrip is great at interacting with large amounts of data and ever since we started developing a Data Warehouse, we switched to it to maximize productivity. It's been great so far and my team is loving it immensely.

  ### 32. Director

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Like the fact that it interacts with so many datasources and it really intuitive. Small footprint and obtaining licences was a breeze.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Nothing really. Perhaps the interface takes a very little while to get used to but that is not really a dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Excellent application when you need to connect to multiple vendor data sources.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to connect to multiple data sources at once is really effective.
Allowing users form different fields such as MS SQL, DB2, mongo all all can use this application with ease.

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Excellent for managing my saved scripts, refactoring and optimizing them
Code completion is great

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Data editor is not as friendly as could be
Inspecting code could take long time
Connection time to the database is slower than normal

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Try the Trial first

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One tool to connect to all the databases of the organization
DataGrip is great at loading with large amounts of rows

  ### 34. Fanstastic SQL manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary T. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

It manages all kind of SQL data, It can be an SQLite file of 300kB or a MariaDB file of 68gB and it will work and not crash even with very big databases. As long as you know the queries you want to run and format them in an efficient way the response time of Datagrip is great, even for remote databases.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

This is a hard question, I guess the only bad thing is that I didn't buy a perpetual license and I have to pay a yearly subscription, but that's not too bad.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If you know the basics of SQL or you are an expert this tool will make your life easier.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing SQL databases, mainly for remote MariaDB databases.

  ### 35. Quick Way to Interact with Databases

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Loren K. | Team Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Data grip is able to easily interact with a wide range of different databases and anything you can provide a JDBC driver for. I primarily use it for interacting with Google Cloud Spanner to avoid using Google's often slow interface. For these purposes the tool is great.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Because I have mostly used it for simple SQL statements (and with Cloud Spanner), I likely have missed some of it's most powerful features. That said, it does not feel as powerful as programs like Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

DataGrip is included inside many of the other JetBrains products (such as IntelliJ and PHPStorm). While I like having it as a separate program, if you are paying per product, you could skip buying it and use the included features.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interacting with Cloud Spanner through their online interface was slow, using Datagrip has enabled me to run queries and get the results I need faster.

  ### 36. easy to manage data with it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

DataGrip is not a language-specific IDE. It supports a wide variety of languages by default, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Derby, H2, Sqlite, and many more.
You can also specify your own JDBC drivers to get support for additional platforms.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

This is an annual subscription with tiered pricing that diminishes a small amount year over year. But there are other much cheaper or free alternatives. This is the premium priced product of the bunch.

As with all other IDEs, DataGrip is powerful and thus requires more resources than usual. It can use up to several GB's of memory when working with high-volume databases, and this has an impact on performance if your system is not equipped to handle it.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If you are working at a data-heavy job, go for it!

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it as an IDE. It's much more powerful than eclipse

  ### 37. "Extraordinary item for database the board"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben V. | Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I truly like the auto-complete choices for tables and columns that are being referenced. This enables us to have unpracticed clients feel progressively great making basic and complex sql calls. I likewise like that I can have different endpoints designed and effectively flip between the two. Likewise, making refreshes in the outcomes see spares my group from making extra calls to refresh records. The majority of the tabs utilized in the past session come up when you restart DataGrip, so this makes little day by day undertakings extremely speedy to perform in light of the fact that there is practically zero set up if an activity is played out each time you utilize the product.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The cost of the product is expensive, as there are various free and open-source alternatives accessible. The permit needs to audit each and every year as opposed to paying a single amount and for all , which is something I loathe

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

I would exceptionally suggest the item for individuals who are searching for a product to play around with SQL. Incredibly easy to use and compact!I would exceedingly suggest DataGrip due to the fact that it is so easy to begin working and would be instinctive for non-developers and software engineers alike.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

.My organization utilizes DataGrip to deal with a database of clients, items, valuing and arranges right now being handled. The simple to utilize inquiry window and table view imply that we can make changes very rapidly, which spares the business time and money. It is utilized for information control and information approval. Information sits in the database and Datagrip is utilized to get to the information and receive bits of knowledge in return.

  ### 38. Fantastic software geared toward querying and visualizing SQL data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Datagrip provided so many phenomenal features, a lot of which I did not even get to use. Datagrip provided a long list of official connectors to various types of SQL databases, while the community helped fill in the gaps on other databases that were not officially supported. Datagrip gave me an IDE-style environment where I could query data across different databases, export data as necessary, save and access views/reports easily with custom formatting. Datagrip also helped me improve my query syntax with auto-complete functions and other features to promote good habits with querying.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

There was honestly not too much to dislike about Datagrip. The only frustration I have ever had with it was connections sometimes timing out after some idle time, and the software either requiring a refresh of the connection, or a quick restart. Datagrip may be a little daunting to setup and configure at first, but it's software that becomes easier to use with repetition.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Try it out for a bit, see what features you like, and what features are most exciting for you to use. If connectors for your SQL database aren't available officially, check out what's available through the community.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datagrip helps me visualize data quickly and efficiently, which saved me time from needing it shell into a SQL instance to retrieve quick information I needed. Datagrip also allowed me to customize data exports, eliminating the need of using custom arguments and modifiers in my query to receive the output in a deliverable fashion.

  ### 39. DataGrip Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The all-in-one feature of the IDE. Everything can be done on DataGrip without frequently flip and flop between pages. The customer service of the product is excellent, which you can easy to chat with someone online during office hours via chatbox on the official website. They frequently host YouTube workshops in teaching how can developers increase their productivity by using their products. I highly recommend subscribing their YouTube channel for better user-experience of the products.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The price of the software is pricey, as there are a number of free and open-source options available. The license has to review every single year instead of paying a lump sum and for all , which is something I dislike .

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

If your team has experience with WebStorm or PyCharm, you may find it extremely easy to use. On the other hand, if you prefer customized everything on our own, then it is better to consider other open source IDEs on the market ( as there are a lot of options with great development communities).

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The business problem we encounter is the connection of each developer's individual laptop and the hosted service of the company. We remotely using DataGrip and which the reaction of the application is not as good as expected. The solution is still unknown as we consider both efficiency as well as privacy. But the use of DataGrip makes the situation a little bit better than not using it.

  ### 40. Straightforward and powerful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2018

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

I like that it is simple to navigate between different tables and query windows, and can use multiple query windows at once, making repeated tasks simple. All of the tabs used in the previous session come up when you restart DataGrip, so this makes small daily tasks very quick to perform because there is little to no set up if an operation is performed every time you use the software.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I dislike the lack of flexibility in the workspace, because it makes writing complex queries on unfamiliar tables more difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

I would highly recommend DataGrip because of how simple it is to start working and would be very intuitive for non-programmers and programmers alike.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company uses DataGrip to manage a database of customers, products, pricing and orders currently being processed. The easy to use query window and table view mean that we are able to make changes very quickly, which saves the business time and money.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

Really easy to use, But a bit expensive for small companies.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it to access my production database and alter data.
With datagrip it is really easy to install a new driver.(it will automatically download it for us).

  ### 43. Best all-in-one database IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The ability to bring my data workings into the JetBrains ecosystem is fantastic. No more switching between tools if you need to span multiple slacks

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

Sometimes the specific plugins may not work as expected. For example, I was using a postgres plugin that was simply broke. Re-visiting DataGrip many months and a plugin update later, all magically worked.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Day-to-day data work in a beautiful IDE. Being able to apply my JetBrains tooling knowledge to my data work has been a huge benefit.

  ### 45. Good tool for databases

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

Datagrip has incredible features. It is very useful to connect to databases and write SQL code in Datagrip. It is extremely interactive with the user and has features that are really useful. There are excellent functions where you can simply write the name of the table anywhere and it shows the various options.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

I miss having advanced features like schema comparison and updating, and complex test data generation functions.

**Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:**

I think it is a great SQL development tool, however, if you plan to use it for heavy SQL development, this might not be what you are looking for. The price is a bit expensive, but it improves if you plan to have a perpetual license. But I would like to see the roadmap for the product before planning to invest in it.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of my client's services and the professional services team have switched to data management because it is much easier to use. We frequently have to query our databases to extract information and sometimes write to the database. Most of the team has experience in SQL, but not everyone is an expert in database structure. Additionally, with different environments having different builds, DataGrip makes it easier to autocomplete elements like tables and columns that may differ from one database build to the next.

  ### 50. Great Database Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about DataGrip?**

The feature set in DataGrip is fantastic! It brings the 5 different databases I work with over 30+ instances into one convenient place. All with the same set of features from the client software. Being able to have multiple consoles per DB instance all with independent.

Additionally, the software updates are quite frequent and bring more enhancements and functionality. Which gives users a real reason to renew your subscription each year. Unlike other packages who offer subscriptions with little value to no value add beyond maintaining the software.

**What do you dislike about DataGrip?**

The learning curve of the feature set can be a little steep at first. Finding where to click in the UI or what menu a particular feature is listed under. However, once you play around and get familiar with it it gets to be much easier to work with.

**What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we are working across multiple types of database and DB instances there are many different tools to use. Each flavor having its own toolsets and quirks. DataGrip has the majority of these tools/features in one package which helps our team get work done faster and with fewer errors. Additionally, when we have new employees join the team there is only one Database tool to train them on which minimizes ramp-up time.
