"DataGrip’s Next-Level SQL Intelligence in One Powerful Multi-DB Client"

4.5/5

What do you like best about DataGrip?

The SQL intelligence in DataGrip is genuinely on another level compared to most database clients. The autocomplete understands your schema deeply, resolves table aliases across joins, catches syntax errors before you even run the query and suggests fixes in real time. For someone writing complex SQL day in and day out that alone makes a noticeable difference. The Git integration is also something I rely on heavily, version controlling SQL scripts and collaborating on query changes feels natural inside the tool. And being able to connect to MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis and more from one single interface without juggling separate clients is something I did not fully appreciate until I had it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

The pricing is the first thing that comes to mind. At around $109 per year for individuals and $259 per user per year for organizations it is hard to justify unless you are using it every single day for serious work. The tool is also quite heavy on memory, JetBrains products in general demand a solid machine and DataGrip is no exception. The initial schema introspection when you connect to a large database can feel painfully slow and that is frustrating when you just want to run a quick query. There is also no built in data visualization which means you are always exporting data elsewhere if you want to chart or analyze results visually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before DataGrip I was managing different tools for different databases and spending more time navigating tooling than actually working with data. The moment I had everything under one roof the context switching dropped significantly. The intelligent code completion also addressed a very real problem I had with writing error prone SQL on large schemas where remembering every table and column name was unrealistic. I would say my time spent debugging query syntax issues dropped by at least half after switching. The Git integration solved another pain point where SQL scripts were living in random files with no version history, now everything is tracked properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful IDE"

5/5

What do you like best about DataGrip?

I appreciate the depth of configurability that Datagrip offers, as no other IDE provider allows such comprehensive customization. Full access to the database is particularly valuable, as I can easily delete outdated tables as an administrator and manage my database efficiently. The performance of the IDE is remarkable, making it an overall very powerful solution. Datagrip was recommended to me, and since then I have used it in all companies for SQL work and have always insisted on using it, even when I had to work with other IDEs. The setup is quick and overall easy, even if you initially need support from experienced engineers. I am particularly thrilled that with a single click you can format your queries exactly as you wish, which can greatly simplify the work. This makes Datagrip the best solution on the market for me. I use it for prototyping pipelines and ad hoc analyses because I greatly appreciate the simplicity and efficiency it offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

The menu, the navigation is very unusual and could be optimized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

I always have full access to the database, can easily manage it as an administrator, delete outdated tables, and the IDE is very performant. One-click formatting of queries saves time and improves my work efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic UI Experience and great inbuilt AI tool to write SQL"

5/5

What do you like best about DataGrip?

- The UI is absolutely easy to use and navigate

- It segments different queries into blocks in the same file to be run individually

- The AI tool has great auto-complete feature makes it really easy to write SQL Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

There is not much to dislike about DataGrip. One suggestion however, would be to make editor settings easily accessible to modify for the users. RIght now it is a bit difficult to find even the editor settings to make trivial changes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

DataGrip has made writing and executing SQL commands extremely easy for me. The AI tool makes life easier by auto-completing queries and the floating result window is just perfect to see the results simultaneously on a second screen while writing queries in the primary screen. "Trades Depth of Features for Usability"

5/5

What do you like best about DataGrip?

I really enjoy the ease of using datagrip. I've found that it's ability to distinguish queries and present a clean interface are unbeat. I like to think of datagrip like Apple versus Samsung, with Apple presenting the cleaner, simpler product (Datagrip) versus Samsungs complex and powerful options, but ultimately confusing for the average user (competitors). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

I've found that datagrip lacks behind other competitors only in the speed they release new updates. For example, dBeaver offers rapid updates including things like AI modeling that are only half built out. On the other hand, Datagrip makes sure that everything is fully baked and tested before release, making for a easier and cleaner user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

SQL querying and analysis is the main solution DataGrip offers us. We use Datagrip to do a good portion of our marketing analysis and data engineering validation, alongside tableau and excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is a powerful tool to manage databases"

4.5/5

What do you like best about DataGrip?

I can manage many database systems without the need for other software. It connects to MySQL, MariaDB, Mongo, Oracle, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Cockroach, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

It does not have a free tier, but it is worth the money if you use it every day. The Mongo integration is not super powerful, but good enough. Also, it may be a little slow to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me to connect to many databases of different types and regions because I can connect locally and remotely. The editor is powerful and super functional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
