Datagrip has a lot of cool and interesting features but the one I found the most exciting was data visualization. I found Datagrip to be by far the best tool to generate database diagrams. Another very interesting feature is the visualization of results of Explain and Analyze which makes it very easy to see the troublesome parts of your query and consequently helps improving the query performance. Generally there isn't much to dislike about the software however, since it is a paid tool, in the end it all comes down to weighing between free tool vs a couple of extra features. We were using SQL Yog and switched to Datagrip. I like that I do not need to use Putty with Datagrip like I did with SQL Yog. Some of the layout is very confusing at first and even though I have been using it for a few months it is still confusing at times. It is super simple application to use where have so many features like auto-complete, integeration with almost all the industary standard DBs, scratch pads for rough work, quick data manipulation directly from in the queried tables, table schema representation, various ways to dump data, etc. Also, there are subtle benefits of JetBrains ecosystem like dark mode and similar UI compared to their other products like IntelliJ, Pycharm, etc. This makes it even more easier to use the application. No free version was available when I started using it when I just wanted to experiment with the application. Switching the DB console in the same scratch pad is missing or it is not easy to configure at least. I would like to create different types of scratch pads and just switch my open DBs across them. Recommendations to others considering DataGrip: If you are on a budget, then there are few really good open source opens like DBeaver, PGAdmin, etc which you can consider. So we are benefitting from this application at industrial level. We have also saved a lot of time by not writing DML queries when we edited RDBMS tables directly. Its management interface is quite simple and intuitive at the time of use, which allows me to have a better performance in terms of using the application, the fact that it supports multiple database managers is extremely useful for designing. of my applications in a much easier and faster way, the fact that it allows me to do everything without problem from my local server is something quite practical when doing my local developments since that way I can perform all the necessary tests before passing them To the production environment, the fact that it supports files from multiple database managers turns out to be a fairly successful option, especially to avoid any type of conflict or problems when carrying out my developments. It consumes many resources on my computer, which makes my pc slower and its performance drastically decreases, the fact that it does not have many options to consult information is also quite negative since it does not allow us to make inquiries of a much easier way without having to consult technical support.
