Being the biggest marketplace makes DAT a target for fraud. Freight thieves and double brokers use it as a tool to commit freight crimes. DAT should strengthen security, such as not allowing agent-based brokerages to permit their agents to bring their own Gmail accounts; monitoring fraudulent IPs. DAT should also monitor their own review services so they would know when an obvious double broker is using their system as a tool to commit fraud. DAT Directory reviews are currently outsourced to a third party that does a poor job moderating reviews. This responsibility should be brought in-house. DAT should allow its users to view load history that is no longer actively posted so that we can go back and investigate if our loads were re-posted by a double broker.
