It has anti tampering protections as well which I have not tested. Pricing was great before licensing changes and continues to be very good after. **What do you dislike about DashO?** It is somehow complex to get to understand every little feature and configuration switch and you get the feeling you are not getting the best possible protection it is capable of, out of your own lack of knowledge. It should evolve to have an easier UI, better wizards and more online training material (videos, how-tos, etc.) in order to ease the learning curve. **What problems is DashO solving and how is that benefiting you?** Android apps obfuscation. ### 2. Have to manually update the dashorc file to provide JDK path with DASHO_JAVA_HOME env variable. **What problems is DashO solving and how is that benefiting you?** * Additional code obfuscation on top of R8. * Encrypt sensitive string * Tamper detection to avoid re-package the app * Root detection to react with rooted device users, for auditing and warning user the risk. ### 3. Other than that, it provides optimization and refactoring of my code by removing unwanted code such as unused methods, functions, variables etc. Also, it is very easy to integrate the obfuscator tool to my android application code. **What do you dislike about DashO?** Obfuscator for Java and obfuscator for Android is a cost. The functionalities they provide are definitely worth to charge that price; however, I believe that it can be made more user acceptance. **Recommendations to others considering DashO:** Java obfuscator and Android obfuscator provides security and protection to your source code. It has the capability to hide the user strings which are present in the code assembly so that no attacker can find the critical code patterns by checking the references in the binary file. They can’t break it even by using the time lock algorithm. **What do you dislike about DashO?** I think it takes time to build the whole project. I wish there was a hot reload or module caching. The only concern was the pricing model. It doesn't have a standard model and they will send you a quote for what you need. Therefore, the payment depends on how much use you find the features of DashO. It is important that they change their pricing model. **Recommendations to others considering DashO:** Look into the documentation but they have good examples. Tried breaking and looking at the code but this solution protects your code well. **What do you dislike about DashO?** There should be well documented process available. Though the current approach is involved with steps, there should be a way for user interface to allow obfuscation. It would be good to have the features extended to android apps implemented via .net core and unity framework too. **What problems is DashO solving and how is that benefiting you?** Try to protect the application specific code logic from being exposed to the hackers. It has various features to do so. The best features I like are Overload Induction to check the renaming of the variables, methods, classes, etc. The logic remains the same in the source code. It also provides advanced control flow feature. It destroys the code pattern which the de-compilers are using to create the code. The final code is exactly the same as the original but no de-compilers can guess the originally written code even by using high end technology. It has the capability to hide the user strings which are present in the code assembly so that no attacker can find the critical code patterns by checking the references in the binary file. They can’t break it even by using the time lock algorithm. **What do you dislike about DashO?** I could not find anything to dislike in this tool. It serves the purpose it is created for. Only minor improvement can be in the overall price for the software. **Recommendations to others considering DashO:** I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a reliable way to secure their apps. **What problems is DashO solving and how is that benefiting you?** The best benefits I have realized is the Watermark feature to keep the track of any unauthorized copies created for your source code or software. It embeds the data like copyright information or unique identification no.’s. Neither it impacts the runtime behavior of your software nor does it increase the overall installation size of our software. It will not create any metal link which can lead to breakdown of your software. Also its pruning feature makes your code faster by analyzing the unused methods, variables, fields and removing them. In the released version, it will also remove the debugging calls so that it is safe and secure. ### 10.
