DaCast offers to us the easiest way to access Akamai, the CDN in the planet. We have clients in three continents and the distribution network is critical. DaCast offers a powerful API to automate all our live and VOD process from our client and administrative platform. They are improving constantly the service in order to add new features of the streaming world (As low delay streaming). DaCast has the great live recording feature to go back in live events. The pricing made it affordable for me to stream my bi-weekly broadcasts live to an unlimited number of viewers. I also like the fact that everything is included under one roof - live streaming, PPV and on demand video streaming, as well as the ability to collect fees charged that viewers pay to watch PPV. When DaCast does upgrades, they sometimes do not thoroughly check everything to make sure it all works. For the most part, it all does. But when problems occur, it sometimes takes them a few days to modify and repair them. The tech people need to test more before rushing them out for public release. As of this review, there are still issues with the scheduler in the Playlist function since the upgrade to the new video player...and it's been ongoing for a few months. Clients had the option of remaining with the old player until the end of March, but now the new player is required and the scheduler is still not working.

The analytics are frequently not accurate, confusing, and sometimes do not load and are cumbersome to use. Fortunately for my situation, they are not that important.

I've had one particular technical issue that Dacast has been unable to rectify which I am still getting charged for. The ability to use Packages.
