During the COVID-19 pandemic, the system remained fully operational without any failures. The post-sales support is efficient, with a strong partnership to assist clients with their projects. Additionally, the integration with various applications is a great advantage, and I’m exploring the BI features to create data dashboards. **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** What I dislike is the efficiency of the new data set system, which has yet to be proven. This forces me to consider creating APIs or purchasing additional tools. Moreover, the absence of an integrated video system is an issue, as it requires the client to contract a separate service. **Recommendations to others considering D2L Brightspace:** Give it a chance, don't look at the value of the proposal but rather the benefits you can have. Then talk to a D2L consultant and negotiate the price. But first, try it out. I've had more than 3000 users online using the system at the same time and the system didn't even show any slowness. In addition, they have added Lumi the AI product that can suggest ways to develop your content, and can be set up as a chat bot to help both learners and content builders. . There are dozens of third-party products that can be integrated which can further support and personalize learning, making it more impactful. Brightspace, in my experience, out performs any other system. They use a continuous delivery of updates and utilize research and extensive testing before releasing it in the live platform. D2L Brightspace places a strong emphasis on accessibility ensuring their product provides the greatest access for anyone that wishes to learn. They also have an exceptional Community and Learning Center, so both learners and course builders understand how to interact with the platform. They take it a step further by providing access to supportive, knowledgeable Customer Success and Account Managers who help empower successful implementation and guide continuous improvement. With Brightspace, we're able to integrate Kaltura for videos and H5P with its vast array of interactive components. D2L has a wonderful support community, an annual conference, in-depth documentation, and a well-organized feature request system. **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** After migrating from a custom-built LMS in which we had direct control of our upgrades, we aren't able to prioritize our institutions needs over D2L's broad customer base. One of this chalenfes was the content migration from our legacy custom CMS, migrating the content from Flash to HTML5 objects, and D2L was able to support and remediate any issue on the fly. Also, the hability to scale. In Pandemic, we had the challenge to migrate hundreds of thousand users from offline to online and we did it in a couple weeks. Also, we rolled out some new courses from scratch in 2 weeks, from idea to deliver! **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** We faced some issues with integrations with third party systems during the years, the learning curve is too steep in some points, only using the documentation, we had to raise some tickets for some doubts. Some design decisions affected duplication of content due the logic used, that wasn't the best one. Perhaps some success case templates to guide during course creations might help. **What problems is D2L Brightspace solving and how is that benefiting you?** The scale we have in our business has ruined some other solutions, but D2L was able to handle the load without any issues, the users accessed and consumed the content without any problem, and very fast. the hability to make fast changes also, it helped a lot on many situations. ### 9. Navigating is easy and there are a lot of features to utilize, along with integrations. Additionally, there is a very strong support community on the "back of house" side of things, along with additional training that is incredibly engaging. **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** I wish there was a formal training for instructional designers. The certificate they have seems like it would benefit a teacher building/supporting their course but I'd love to have an option for designers and backend admin. Ease of use is STRONG - it's the most intuitive of any LMS I have personally used. I build in D2L frequently! They were able to reflect on my questions and respond in a very reasonable timeframe. **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** While a lot of people are familiar with the platform (our local post secondary institutions use D2L Brightspace as well), we do have some participants who are not comfortable using it, especially with the new format. As a self-described 'technology idiot' I have no issue navigating the system. What is more to me than anything else is that my students do not have any issues setting up the system. I'm not going to lie, my favorite part about using D2L is the level of care that I get from my customer success team. They have helped me in ways that have made my life easier. It isn't just the cost, it the customer service, the features within the platform that keep my students engaged, and my ability to integrate my learning materials into the courses. The tools are 2nd nature to use and solve day to day problems related with teaching. Constantly improving and updating. Each month updates come out. They take suggestions from users on how to improve their current tools or on creating new tools and then actually do it. Customer service is usually excellent. The company really cares about its users and constantly seeks to improve with feedback from their users. They offer yearly conferences that are extremely helpful in learning about the programs and new tools. **What do you dislike about D2L Brightspace?** As with all technology there are glitch and compatibility issues. Some students have trouble with technology and it may take a little bit of time in order to resolve the issues. Most of the time it is with browser compatibility. There is always room for improvement and always room for new tools. Education is always changing and it is their job to keep up with new trends. Sometimes these updates are a little slow. **Recommendations to others considering D2L Brightspace:** If you are in education you should definitely look into using this platform. Your students would greatly benefit from the tools and ease of use! **What problems is D2L Brightspace solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has made virtual learning SO much easier. The students know exactly where to go and what to do. The instructors are able to be creative with how they operate their courses. It helps to make the virtual experience more like the in class room experience. Making education more accessible has become easier with closed captioning as a part of their video tools. Also making the assignments/quizzes more accessible with options for certain students to have more time/resources/etc. ### 28.
