If you have a hard deadline, be explicit about it and let them scope a sprint. For red teaming, set rules of engagement and agree on what “highest privilege” means in your context. We were referred to CyStack by a partner we trust. We had a non-negotiable 3-week deadline before an enterprise rollout. Four vendors backed out; CyStack didn’t. They scoped quickly, ran a focused pentest across our app and cloud perimeter, delivered prioritized fixes with clear repro, and completed a clean retest inside the window. We shipped on time and handled customer security reviews without friction.

Post-launch, we commissioned a 6-month red team with real rules of engagement. They reached the highest privilege in our environment within just 1 month - uncomfortable to read, but exactly the truth we needed. The report mapped the path end-to-end and what to fix first (identity, privilege, logging, alerting).
