As a software engineer working within the medicine and drug industry, I constantly have to communicate with the research team and understand what can be mentioned, what cannot, what the latest update is on a certain product so that it’s presented the right way. Cross communication with research is my main avenue of communication at the company. The agents —- and the custom agent builder — basically cut out that communication step and checks both our database of information + that of cypris. Very handy **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** Setup was a bit tedious, not for me but for the research team who uses it most of the time. I have enough experience with software that setup and technical problems don’t arrive to me as problems; however, for people not so experienced as me, it can be tedious. But perhaps this was just the experience of the team. Aside from that I can’t think of many complaints. **What problems is Cypris Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves a step I often had to have in my workflow, which was cross-team review with the research team. As a part of my position I constantly need the research information so that I’m up to date on the status of different products in development. It’s crucial that I know these for the purposes of my role, and it allotted a lot of time to time consuming meetings and chats, slowing down the flow of my work. Now, Cyprus mostly cuts out the middleman and leaves company wide files and agents that anybody can chat with and understand the complex research material. ### 2. I suppose the only limitation is the lack of MCP/API connectors to other systems like Claude, right now. It does the job of an entry level researcher or intern at a much higher level than those people used to do it. Our team has always had to manage a vast range of research across different domains. 0, and to be able to have most of the grunt work done for us, and delivered to our entire team at our pleasing, is immensely useful. It has made it easier to centralize our different domains of research and centralize it all across our team members. Making shipping decks & reports a much faster process than previously. **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** There's little we dislike about the Cypris platform; however, it took a bit of time to set up, and for all our members to be on the same page with the platform. By week three we were all fine, but came with some questions. **What problems is Cypris Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cypris is innovating our process in a big way, solving issues of information centralization, cross-member communication and speed. It’s monitoring system is some sort of Agentic layer that runs at all times, and gives the user constant updates and briefs about the synthesis of patent, commercial and scientific data as they relate to the topic. It has a variety of uses and I’ve seen it used it a range of ways at my company. From updating research every day to tracking competitors. **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** I don’t like the AI support agent, but this is a pet peeve of mine, as I don’t like AI support agents in general despite how common they’ve become. They’re not helpful and alienating. Other than that, it took a bit of time to setup, with me having to ask some colleagues for guidance early in the implementation phase. **What problems is Cypris Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cypris cuts down my time in communication with IP professionals and their department. Patent tracking and finding our freedom to operate has always been a core part of our processes, however, it has always taken a long while to do so. I’d constantly have to go back and forth between those who can interpret the language of intellectual property and my research. Many of my colleagues in R&D expressed the same problem. Cypris makes understanding the IP research easy and cuts the middleman who was previously there to interpret prose. The tools on the site are designed in an intuitive way and integrate easily with the other systems we work with. On top of that, their security measures are comprehensive, especially compared to what we’ve used in the past. **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** So far, there’s very little I’ve disliked about Cypris, and the colleagues I’ve spoken with about it feel the same. If anything, the setup/onboarding process can take a while in some cases, but that often seems necessary depending on how sensitive your business information is. **What problems is Cypris Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've been able to spend far less time both in the IP research phase and in coordination with other parties. In the past, finding our FTO or doing white space analysis took quite a long time, and we would always have to go through some middleman whether it be a lawyer or a professional that understands intellectual property. I find it important to choose between different search vehicles like Deep Thought for comprehensive searches versus Claud or ChatGPT, which helps me understand the capabilities and limitations of the tools I am using. The initial setup was as easy as it gets, since from the moment we were given the license and access, we were effectively up and running. It offers a more targeted search engine experience, providing more relevant, credible resources than a traditional search engine and making literature and patents more accessible. It's also very accessible for initial searches, helping me get a good starting point. The initial setup of Cypris Platform was fairly easy, and most of the admin tools are pretty good and have improved over the past few months. **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** I still don't like the traditional boolean/semantic search function. I find it doesn't lead to many useful resources without significant filtering. First off could a company add it to their Portfolio or buy it from me? This is the larger scenario of patent investment since Patents could potentially conflict. I was contacted by Cypris describing the benefits that the Market Intelligence report would give me. Shortly after agreeing and receiving the report I was impressed with how many competitor patents were generated in the report. There were patents I hadn't seen in my google searches that I performed previously. Also impressive are the list of companies that are the potential to manufacture the invention along with the extensive list of contacts that you can click to connect with. In Summary, I should have requested the report before I filed for the patent but for the low cost of the report it was a no brainer for me to have it completed. **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** A bit hard to navigate for the beginner but with practice it's tolerable. **Recommendations to others considering Cypris Platform:** Be patient with searches don't be discouraged. **What problems is Cypris Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability for competitors to navigate the report identifies exactly the information required to justify their market comparisons. I used the Cypris tool to quickly put together a list of companies & it was a lot more dynamic than I thought it would be. I liked how the report was interactive & had a lot of depth. My alternative would be to spend time on Google, putting together a target list - which is extremely time-consuming and aggravating, so this is an alternative that was well worth the money. Another alternative would be to hire an attorney, but they're expensive & they have their own agendas... **What do you dislike about Cypris Platform?** It was a little complicated to understand at first, they could have more articles online explaining how to use the report.
