## Cyberduck Reviews
  ### 1. Good FTP client for OSX

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck is an FTP client primarily focused on Mac users, specifically for OSX, although there is a version for Windows. It has a very simple and intuitive interface, without many options that complicate tasks. Connections to servers are fast and quite stable. It allows you to save an address book with the most frequent connections. It takes up very little disk space and we can download it directly from its website.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

For users who are not very demanding regarding features, it is perfect. Perhaps its main downside is its main advantage, which is none other than simplicity. Too simple and few options, although what it does, it does very well.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

It is reliable, fast, and easy to use, as well as free. If you use OSX, don't hesitate, if you are a Windows user, you should try it, although there are better options. In any case, it is totally recommended if you are not looking for something very demanding.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you don't want to invest in paid FTP clients, it is a good option to consider, especially on OSX where the application market is always somewhat more limited, and it is free. It greatly facilitates connections and improves their stability and efficiency.

  ### 2. A Servicable Solution for an SFTP Client

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave R. | Web Developer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

It's an easy to use SFTP solution. I'm not a fan of FileZilla's user interface, so I've chosen this as the first option that came up in my Google search results. Bonus points for an awesome name.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

It's slower than I'd like it to be, has too many dialogue prompts, and it always asks for a donation after an update. Yeah, I get it, you want to be paid, but stop bugging me about it. If I wanted to pay for your application, I would have done so already. Bugging me about it is not going to increase the chances of me paying for your freely available application.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you can deal with being bugged to offer up a donation every time you update the thing, it's a serviceable SFTP client solution. You're probably better off using FileZilla, though if you can deal with its user interface.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me upload and download files from an SFTP server.

  ### 3. The best FTP client for Mac

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck is an FTP client aimed at OSX users, which offers us a very simple interface without many complications and with just the necessary options to connect to our servers. It has the typical features of this type of software, that is, a quick connection menu, a kind of address book where we can save the most common ones, and a browser to view local and remote files. The transfers are correct in terms of speed and stability.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I believe its main advantage can also be its biggest disadvantage, and that is that it is too simple in terms of options. In my case, the time I've used it, I haven't noticed anything missing, I've been able to work well, but I understand that it may leave users who expect more advanced features wanting.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you are a Mac user, for me it is the best option you can find. I recommend downloading it and trying it, you will see that it works very well.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you need to access FTP servers, obviously you need software of this kind, and on OSX it is often difficult to find a variety of some programs. With Cyberduck, this doesn't happen, as it solves the issue of connections very well and allows you to be more efficient in the work you do.

  ### 4. The best FTP client for Mac

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Simple and easy to use, which is what is sought in any software. Its use is very intuitive, and although it has few options, they are the right and necessary ones. It more than fulfills what it promises and also for free.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Nothing, I love Cyberduck, I can't find any shortcomings or flaws in it. Some might say it's too straightforward or simple, but that's precisely its main advantage, what makes it so perfect. It's a shame that for now I've only seen it for Mac.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you use a Mac, I recommend it 100%, you won't find anything better. As I say, it's free and easy to use, so I think it has it all. Give it a try and it will convince you.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I arrived at Mac, I needed software for FTP server connections. After searching, I found Cyberduck and it solved all my problems. It allows me to make quick connections, save my favorites, and everything is done simply.

  ### 5. We're able to upload large amounts of information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

  ### 6. Cyberduck FTP client, almost there..

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** B M. | Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck has a full featured interface that is pretty straight forward to use. Adding and saving your FTP login credentials has always been reliable and developers seem to be helpful when you are lost. The advantage I find over something like FileZillia is the simplistically of the interface, if your wanting something straight forward for FTP, WebDav, and other Cloud based servers (Amazon, OneDrive, Dropbox. etc) that acts like an ordinary Finder window.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

As straightforward Cyberduck is it also suffers from many small User Interface issues such as missing ok buttons or things that work just a little bit differently than you would expert them to. This means there is a learning curve but in the end it is a lot less disorientating than FileZilla.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Cyberduck is a great tool, quick to learn and easy to implement. If you would want for a smoother experience that would be understandable, if you can afford to invest in something like Panic's Transmit or Coda that could be a smoother application.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I benefit from Cyberduck as it meets my web development needs right now, with the added benefit that you can choose to purchase it from the Mac App Store or Download it from the site for free and Donate to the developers. As a freelancer with small profit margins this helps keep costs down for the occasion that I need to use FTP.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

nothing much to dislike when the app is working great at what it is supposed to do

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

file transfer to s3.
file management to AWS s3 (cloud)

  ### 8. Simple program to connect via FTP

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael J. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

CyberDuck provides an easy way to connect via FTP. They have a simple interface that doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge to connect to your website. They also allow you to use your custom code editor when editing files.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes the app won’t let me connect to my website if there’s a software update available. It’s extremely annoying. I also don't like how outdated the user interface is; they need a face lift!

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Always make sure your software is up-to-date, otherwise you will won't be able to connect to your account.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a lot of websites using Wordpress and it’s nice using an FTP program to access files that aren’t visible within the Wordpress administrator dashboard. It also helps when I need to upload large file sizes or multiple files at once.

  ### 9. File transfer made easy!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Safe, easy (once you get the hang of it!), and free!

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I'm not well-versed in this kind of software, so it took a lot of trial and error to learn how to use it.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to replace an incorrect print pdf on our database with the correct one using the FTP.

  ### 10. Does what it is supposed to do, and does it well!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew M. | Game Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck is free, consistent, and workes as it should. I'm able to bookmark my different FTP connections, and reopen them easily.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes the interface is a little clunky and unintuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

It's worth a try! Cyberduck is very good, I've been using it for years.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I easily keep my websites up-to-date.

  ### 11. Great Product That's Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck has done a great job at keeping their user interface clean and organized. It does a good job at connecting to websites via FTP and I've never had any major problems connecting to my files.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

The only thing I've found that doesn't work correctly is when there is an update. If there is an update, the program doesn't let me connect to my files. There is no warning or message. You have to figure out why you can't connect by trying multiple solutions.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cyberduck helps me connect to my, and my client's files, simply. There isn't a lot of excess junk within the program. You simply add the connection information and click connect. I've realized that paying for any FTP program isn't necessarily better, as Cyberduck is free and gives me everything I need.

  ### 12. Cyberduck is a great thing for media storage and a great way to connect to other avenues of design!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara U. | Graphic Designer, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

We use Cyberduck to host all of our weekend notes (we're a church), so it's wonderful to be able to house all of our notes in one place. We also use it to house media that we need a web link to for coding on certain tings. Cyberduck is very organized and has been a lifesaver!

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I mean, as a designer, it's not the "prettiest" program I've ever seen. But that doesn't really matter much. It seems a little code heavy at first, but you soon discover it's very easy to use! Just ask your IT guy how to stay logged in so you don't have to sign in every time you want to use it!

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Try it out! I bet you'll find out that you love the idea of Cyberduck and will find many ways to utilize it. It's the best!

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are staying very organized with Cyberduck! We love it for housing our notes, as well as media that we use on different platforms. It's been a very helpful tool for our team to utilize to stay organized and even stay connected to what each other are doing and where we're storing things that we collaborate on!

  ### 13. Simple, useful, and just works.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendon W. | Program Operations Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like the simplicity and usefulness of the application. That paired with FREE just can't be beaten! I also really like the drag and drop functionality that allows me to quickly upload files.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

The only I dislike about the free version is that every time I close the application, it asks if I would like to donate. It's a very small annoyance though.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you want the free version of the application, go to cyberduck.io

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cyberduck to publish files to our web server which translates into a website. In other words, Cyberduck allows me to quickly publish updates to our websites.

  ### 14. Cyberduck is the Best Mac FTP Client for our Business!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

We like the fact that Cyberduck allows us to easily manage our webspace via FTP on a Mac. Cyberduck allows us to manage multiple FTP accounts, and quickly upload HTML and image files. This is especially useful when tweaking Wordpress PHP files and the occasional hidden files necessary, such as .htaccess. Cyberduck works on a Mac, which is very important, as our business mainly uses Macs.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

We dislike how Cyberduck fails every once in a while when uploading multiple files. The fix for this is to quit the connection and re-connect to your FTP server. This will refresh any time-outs. We also dislike how Cyberduck is not like MountainDuck. We wish that Cyberduck would let us mount our FTP server connection as a volume to our computer; this would allow us to integrate our software systems to work directly with the connection.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

When using Cyberduck, make a small $10 donation in order to mute the dialog boxes asking to pay.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of not being able to access our FTP server on our Mac computers. With so many FTP clients for Windows, it is hard to find an FTP client for Mac. Thankfully, Cyberduck helped us so much, giving us a way to upload HTML, PHP, JS, CSS and other web-based files to our FTP server, in order to best tweak our Wordpress site to make the best edits our website needs.

  ### 15. Works like clockwork

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2019

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

Every month I have to drop a large FTP file to our printer and cyberduck has been working well for me for years. I'm so glad I was told about such a great application.

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

The platform is easy to use and navigate.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I had some issues switching to another server but once I got the information corrected, it was smooth sailing.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Its a great platform, I highly recommend.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with large files, it can be daunting to transfer files, cyber duck helps make that easy so I can work worry free.

  ### 16. Great for SFTP access to safely push changes a website live.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph C. | Digital Project Manager, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Secure and easy to use, and the logo is a rubber duck.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

If you get it through the app store you have to pay for some reason.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Download it from the website, not the app-store and it should be free

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can SSH into a website, safely accessing the code to work change and amend it. Its also good for file transfer.

  ### 17. Great to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like that I’m able access a wide variety of files in one central location. Makes finding what I need very easy.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes it takes a bit for the files to load.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m reviewing the files being sent to us and verifying the information is correct. Doing a lot of cross referencing to ensure all the data is accurate.

  ### 18. FTP good experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck is really easy to use FTP software. When connected to the server, it looks like and acts as a normal folder the desktop.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

It could be more "friendly" with username and password saved in the software.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really easy to upload and download out FTP server.

  ### 19. Cyberduck: The Ultimate HTML Uploader for AME!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larry C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck is a fast and easy way for us to manually upload our site via HTML, since we use a static site instead of a CMS. We also like how honest the app is, and how the collection of apps also created Mountain Duck, to mount an FTP server onto your desktop. We like how we can easily log back onto the FTP server without having to remember our credentials.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

We dislike how Cyberduck keeps on asking us to donate, and how once in a while a multitude of files will fail to upload. We also dislike how Mountain Duck is a free trial, while Cyber Duck is free for life. Having a mounted, editable volume of our FTP server sure would help us. We do not care too much for the name or the logo of the app; it looks rather unprofessional when presented on a projector or when we have to screenshot our work.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Cyberduck is a wonderful solution to upload your static-site or redirecting page to an FTP server. If you need to upload your site more frequently than 4 times a year, we suggest a CMS such as Wordpress.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to upload our static-site redirecting HTML page onto our site through an FTP server using Cyberduck. We've realized the benefit of having Cyberduck, as it makes it easy to change the HTML file in the future when needed.

  ### 20. Easy to Use. Great software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

I've used Cyberduck for all sorts of purposes (both business, when I was going to school, and at home). I like the streamlined user interface. Easy to navigate, great user interface. Simple, clean, easy to use.

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like the simple, easy to use, clean, fast interface.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

The name could be better. I'm not a child playing in the bathtub. Further, before they recently changed their logo, the logo was equally as childish. At least one component was fixed. I remember in school, they called this app "Ducky." Hard to believe a bunch of older students need to be introduced to an app like that.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Try it. You won't regret it.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Cyberduck for FTP uses with various personal and business websites I own and build. I've also used it as a solution to store files on a dedicated server computer.

  ### 21. I have used CyberDuck in the newspaper industry for several years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like how easy it is to upload and download files with CyberDuck. It makes secure file sharing across the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) a breeze. The fact that you can get it as a free program is a bonus. I like how you can upload multiple files and create folders.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes CyberDuck can run slow and it can be difficult to get it to stop doing an action. For example if you accidentally click on the wrong file to download it can take forever to get it to 'stop', especially if it is a large file.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to other file sharing programs, I would recommend CyberDuck for your office.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CyberDuck makes file sharing between offices easy, especially in the newspaper industry. It is user-friendly and easy to use.

  ### 22. Cyberduck Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

The best thing about this product and my use of the product was the easy use of the product. This product helped me to drop box documents and other assignments to my professors very easily. There were no problems that came along with using the program. If I followed the steps provided by my professor properly and in order, then this was very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

The user interface is very plain and boring. There is not much going on with the program. The good thing about this is that the program gets straight to the point and does everything that it is meant to do without all the extra pizzazz. However, there is not much appeal to the eyes while using this program.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

There may be other programs that are advertised to be better, but Cyberduck cuts straight to the point. Nothing flashy, nothing extra. Just everything you need and it gets the job done. No need to waste any more time in figuring out the program. You can easily find a tutorial online, or in my case, just follow the step by step directions provided by the professor. And just like that, you've sent your documentations over to your professor with this easy use program.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easiness of sharing documentation with other colleagues or professors in my case. It is a very easy way to share these things with whoever needs to view them.

  ### 23. Cyberduck

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

This system allows me to upload files and photos to the server. It breaks files and photos into categories and can have multiple subfolders. The layout resembles the internet structure.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Cyberduck has a significant time lag when uploading. Also it often disconnections/times out when uploading.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Decrease the time lag.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to upload photos into the cloud and connect them to our intranet.

  ### 24. Great Advanced File Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phuc T. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I've used Putty and Filezilla for a few years then a coworker told me about Cyberduck. When I used it, somehow I liked it much better than other FTP clients. This may be better integration with SSH and SFTP, and the easy on the eyes, visual interface to manage the files.

Simple and Clean - It's pretty much straight forward. You can add your connection (if you wish to save as a "Bookmark"), or enter the server url for a quick connect. You can simply drag/drop files or upload, then do all the basics, Edit, etc.

Choice of Editors - You can choose a default Editor to edit your files.. and not just a native Editor. There are also multiple methods on opening or managing a file, which gives users a variety of options to their convenience. (e.g. For example, when Editing, you can Double click it, right click -> Edit, or click Edit)

There are many View options - You can add columns to view more details about the files. (For example, permissions, groups, etc.).

Interface - The appearance, font, and the way that everything appears make it visibly easier to view. This is important when you're looking at a long list of connections or files to manage.

Last but not only, The logo is cute - This catchy and has absolutely nothing to do with the functionality, but from a web developer's perspective-- this is good Marketing.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

There is one major thing I noticed.. either the feature is not available or perhaps I'm not familiar to the hidden features. However, I've googled forums on this, and it seems several people are also seeking the same thing, but there's only partial solutions or the feature is not available.

Typically when I SSH, open the file via sudo to Edit via external Editor, I am able to save it. With cyberduck, even though I have all the sudo permissions necessary, I am unable to save my edits until I manually change the permissions for both group and ownership to my user. This is a major inconvenience, if I need to Edit multiple files and need to keep the same permissions. It is challenging to keep track of the permissions I change temporarily.

But it may be that all SFTP clients may be like this so far if I recall.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you're looking for a file management system that is user friendly and good interface, I recommend Cyberduck. It is also affordable because it is FREE!

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used it for the basics, when I didn't have SSH access, or simply rather drag and drop or get a visual of the files, similar to the idea of Windows Explorer or Mac's finder.

It appears there may be more advanced features that others can utilize that would make development more efficient. I handle a lot through command line instead so I haven't explored everything.

  ### 25. Hard to set up, but uploads are quick

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle N. | Senior Associate Director, Operations, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Once the set up is done it is easy to upload data and is secure.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Bookmarks often disconnect, which is really annoying since we need a pass code to connect. Set up is a pain. Still can't get it to work with my CRM integration.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure File exchange,

  ### 26. Cyberduckf or SSH and SFTP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaibhav S. | Software Engineering Intern, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like the way it works. It makes it super easy for me to browse directories through SFTP. It also gives an option to edit a code/document saving the hassle of downloading the file, editing it and loading on the server.

It also enables me to SSH into a remote IP which comes in very handy

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

At times when I try to SFTp or SSH to an IP address, Cyberduck would change a couple and IDs and then try and open it. Obviously, it doesn't go through and I have to retype the whole thing.

It reaches a point when the downloads folder is full and if you try and download something new, Cyberduck will terminate the connection and stop.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Keep clearing the downloads folder every now and then. You wouldn't want to re open cyberduck again and again

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently working on a raspberry pi to collect some remote data. I use Cyberduck to SSH into my Pi and transfer files/change codes as and when required. As I am able to SFTP into the Pi, I don't need separate hardware accessories for it.

I also used to use it while remotely uploading assignments for my classes during my college years

  ### 27. Without fail, my go-to FTP software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Clara D. | Interactive Communications Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Quick load, separate screen to watch uploaded/downloaded files that can be cleared, ability to save sites as bookmarks for quick reference, ability to open multiple connections in multiple windows.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes I have to hit the refresh button to verify my files uploaded and to actually see them in the file structure, though I'm not positive that isn't sometimes due to a slow internet connection.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

If you're in a Mac environment and want a WYSWYG (vs command line which some of my engineers simply won't give up) FTP program, I can highly recommend it. I rarely utilize the advanced settings for specifying type of connection, but they also exist for a broad variety of applications.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage two dozen client websites, and whether I'm doing file loads outside of the CMS or simply storing large zips for transfer, Cyberduck is my go to. I've used it across multiple companies, occasionally testing out other sorts of FTP programs but always returning to this, particularly for Mac environments.

  ### 28. Good Software - Can Be Buggy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris M. | Health Solution Architect, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

It's great for developers, as it doesn't overload the UI with too much of "User Anticipation". It's very good at remembering your account set ups and I only ever have to enter them once, which sadly has not been the case with many others! I live the download and upload functionality, it simply does it to a folder you select and it remembers your default, on other similar tools I kept opening file up by mistake when I just wanted to download them. It's really good that I can use so many types of file server and I don't have to switch for S3 / SFTP etc.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

It can be buggy at times, crashes every so often and can have inconsistent upgrade quality. I don't know why this is, perhaps the testing isn't great. I use it on a MacBook Pro. Due to the buggyness I only recommend this to my tech-y friends.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Be ready for breaking updates, but they generally fix them OK. It can be a bit frustrating but as a developer at heart I love the simplicity.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much fast SFTP access and S3 access, all in one place. Saves me time day to day. I use it much like a finder window when working with files on S3 / SFTP. and I drag files back and forward.

  ### 29. Solid file transfer app

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric E. | Managing Engineer II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Broad support for multiple services (Azure, S3, Google Cloud, Dropbox, etc etc) and good performance.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Not too much to dislike! If what you want is a solid file transfer app with support for multiple services, Cyberduck is a great option for Windows and Mac.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Great file transfer app! It's not as slick as Panic's Transmit for the Mac, and maybe not as fast as other file transfer apps, but it makes up for it in support for services and Windows+Mac compatibility.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The support for multiple services and being able to open multiple browser windows to connect to them allows you to transfer files between the services. Helpful for migrations.

  ### 30. Buggy System

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Unfortunately, the best thing about CyberDuck is that it's free. I also like that it's available for both Mac and PC (although the functionality is inconsistent between the two). The interface is also pretty straightforward and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I have two main issues with Cyberduck: 1) it's buggy. 2) it works differently on Mac vs. PC. I've used CyberDuck on both Mac and PC, and there are things that I can do on a PC that I can't do on a Mac (at least on the version I was using). For example, I tried to change file/folder permissions on a Mac, but CyberDuck wouldn't let me. I had to switch to my Remote Desktop and change the permissions on the PC version.

I've encountered a few bugs while using CyberDuck. Most of the time I was able to find a workaround, but then I hit a wall where it was just unusable, so I decided to buy a paid-app that actually offered support.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

I recommend doing some research on different storage browsers before choosing CyberDuck. The program has been very unreliable for me and my team, so I recommend considering paid options instead. I also recommend using a product that offers customer support. That way, if you do have issues, at least you can ask someone for help.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was using CyberDuck to upload and manage files on my AWS S3 server. The only benefit was that it was free, but it wasn't worth that the program had.

  ### 31. Great software, easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

It is free (or by donation)! Works well to access files on your website through FTP/SFTP. It does its job! You can easily upload and download files.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

It can sometimes be a bit unstable and disconnect from the website you're accessing.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Great software to access your website through FTP/SFTP.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use Cyberduck instead of FTP access through cPanel which is out-of-date.

  ### 32. Weird name, great product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I've tried a few different programs like this and this is the one that feels the most intuitive to me.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I think the visuals and design could do with some updating!

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've always preferred to write out the code for my sites and upload it in that fashion as opposed to using a program like Wordpress. This program allows me to do this.

  ### 33. Works Most of the Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle N. | Corporate Headquarters, Consumer Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2017

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

Cyber-Duck is what I use for all of my website FTP uploading and downloading.

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like that the interface is so simple, and that it is very interactive with notifying you when things are working/not working and how long things will take to complete. I like the bookmarks feature where I can utilize the tab to pull up saved FTP connections, which saves me a lot of time in the long run when I am switching between projects a lot.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I dislike the connection issues I experience from time to time. I see many things fail, only to try again and they work. Theres doesn't appear to be a rhyme or reason behind it, but it happens fairly frequently.

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

It is a good and easy product to use for FTP, even though I hear a lot of other people really like other products out there. I like using the file manager of GoDaddy, but honestly Cyber-Duck allows me to do more volume with less confusion, but maybe that is just my design and coding background that makes me think that.

  ### 34. Cyberduck Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I like how I can connect directly to WordPress, pro photo or Rackspace API

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

I think the User Interface could be a bit more intuitive and attractive

**Recommendations to others considering Cyberduck:**

Its a good primary FTP Solution, but can be a bit intimidating when you initially set it up.

**What problems is Cyberduck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to quickly and security transfer files from a hard drive to the webserver

  ### 35. CyberDuck not so hot

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cindy M. | Business Builder, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2018

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

This program was used as the preferred ftp software at a printing company I previously worked for in Georgia.

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

I believe it was a free program, which is likely why my employer preferred it.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

It was very quirky. I recall uploading items and different things would reset. It wasn't as user-friendly and hassle-free as other ftp programs.

  ### 36. Makes FTP uploaded & downloads easy on mac

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2017

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

I was so confused as to how to upload files onto an FTP server when i switched to a mac at work. Cyberduck made it so much easier than the built in Apple software and it was free :)

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Simple to use. Stores past FTP sites you've logged into and passwords if you want. UI is easy to understand

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

Sometimes I can't tell if I'm actually connected to the FTP or not. Not until i start uploading.

  ### 37. Solid FTP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**Describe the project or task Cyberduck helped with:**

I am able to use the free version to send and receive files easily through FTP sites.

**What do you like best about Cyberduck?**

Interface make is simple and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Cyberduck?**

There isn't anything to dislike other than the prompts to purchase.
