I've used Social Tables at my previous venue and my current venue as replacements for older, less usable software. I've found their customer service is almost always above average and they are willing to make as many fixes as needed to get your floorplans up to where they need to be. The BIGGEST downside to Social Tables hands down is the lack of mobile-friendly diagramming. They actually used to provide this service through an app you could download on a tablet or phone, but stopped servicing the app when they did an overhaul of the software. I was very distraught to learn this because I had no clue the app wasn't being updated as well and my staff at both my previous and current venues have tablets specifically so that they can diagram with clients onsite while conducting walkthroughs of the space. I think this needs to be remedied so either the website has a mobile friendly version or the app is updated/recreated immediately, as this is the largest downside and could only benefit them to fix. The other downsides are: they are unable to properly build out heights for spaces so all heights are arbitrary in 3D, gridline darkness/weight cannot be adjusted, you cannot make many adjustments when exporting your diagram as a PDF, and some other minor things. I have used Cvent Event Diagramming for clients. We used the diagramming to check layouts, arrange buffet, tables, sponsor booths, etc to determine it would work. Each item is great to help the event coordinator to check sizing and layouts before the event, and to show our client how things will look during the event. Very user friendly! This is an easy tool to use and the clients love the simplicity and professional look of it as well. Social Tables gives the client a clear vision from which to manage their event so that the set-up and safety measures taken make sense before it becomes a reality. This tool creates talking points and descriptions which are key to showing a successful ROI to the client. I enjoy being able to design a full floor plan and label everything so that the client can see exactly how the diagram will bring their event to life and accomplish their goals! I like that the program has everything I need right at my finger tips. Meeting space and items in it are to scale and you get a quick reference as to what can and cannot work for meetings.
