Social tables does a great job listening to their users. They have constantly shown that even with changes they appreciate feedback and react on feedback. I love the constant updates and love how when they change something we loved about the old version, they actually take the time and go back to fix what we lost. I dislike how often things are changed on the website. The event industry is always changing and evolving and it is good to see our diagramming software do the same. However, sometimes it changes too much and once we are finally comfortable with the updated software, then it is updated again. It is a plus and a minus all in one. The software has a lot of functionality and is pretty easy to use. Also, they are constantly updating their system and trying to add useful functionality. I love being able to show my clients what the layout of a room will look like. This helps us with the event day. We have solved a lot of problems that could have caused day of stress. The design of the software could definitely use some cleanup. I also wish that they had a mobile app. I know with time more hotels will become available and rooms will be uploaded. Social tables has helped us place various department heads at certain tables so everyone in the room can have access to them. With one of our events, our client wanted to see what the layout would look like. With social tables, we were able to show him. He ended up hating the layout and how tight the space would be. Social Tables is helpful to make event diagrams, however with multiple updates over the last few years it's hard to keep track of how to use it and do what you're trying to do. Almost too many updates - I feel like every time I login to make an event diagram it's a different interface that I have to relearn when it worked well previously. The latest update has every old event listed as a legacy event and gives us trouble when trying to open old diagrams we're looking to duplicate and its hard to find past events with the new layout and interface. In theory Social Tables should be our go to event setup diagramming solution, but with constant changes and updates it ends up being faster to print an empty diagram of a space and draw the layout out by hand than try and figure out the latest iteration and updates social tables has pushed through. I love the ability to create and load custom floorplans into the database for quick and easy reference when making floorplans for potential clients. The ability to also save floorplans as templates make it super convenient if I'm repeating something simple like a GS in schoolroom set or a meal room in max capacity. I also there was a master floorplan we could edit on the venue/property level. For example, some of our rooms have columns and on social tables layouts, they're incorrectly placed and no matter how many tickets we file to correct this, it always reverts to the incorrect position. Since using Social Tables, I have been able to overcome several barriers when clients object to the non-traditional size of our spaces. As a historic hotel, our rooms are primarily not the traditional square ballroom that is commonplace. While we have ample square footage, it's not uncommon for clients to have hesitations on tours when I am walking them through the proposed meeting space layout, however the diagrams clearly show them that what I'm saying is correct. Social Tables is great that it allows us to access over the cloud and easily share updates. Our events team is geolocated, we work with a third party agency on our main event, as well as a contact with a hotel member that's usually located someplace else. The ability to easily share 3D renderings has been invaluable. Additionally we struggle with assigning 600 seats for a gala dinner in less than 24 hours (once we know everyone who has and hasn't made it to the event) so being able to diagram everything out, assign seats and pass through details through our cvent instance has been invaluable.
