Once I got the hang of Customer.io, the design process wasn't too tedious even though it's not the most user-friendly. I handle design and content, and I've managed to work within its limitations. We've had issues with Customer.io emails hurting our email reputation, which put us in a terrible spot. The solutions provided were difficult and took months to implement. It's an overly complex tool at times. The initial setup was very difficult due to the large database of customer emails we had to import. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. It has powerful segmentation possibilities and the new email builder is very intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Customer.io? I would not recommend customer.io unless you have a lot of developer support. I have used a lot of marketing automation tools (marketo, hubspot, mailchimp) and customer.io is by far the most complicated. It advertises having a snowflake and salesforce sync but you have to build out everything yourself. I was surprised by this especially for salesforce (Even hubspot is a click of a button). For customer.io I'm building out custom code for the sync and it still is very complex and limited. Furthermore, things like tagging UTM on a user profile involve liquid vs the easy tagging hubspot or marketo provide out of the box. Furthermore, customer support is almost non-existent. A few times during implementation it would have helped having a technical phone call but instead it was the CSM who had no technical knowledge relaying stuff to their team which seemed like an unnecessary step. However, I can't say that it's very user friendly. At least not at a high level. Once you get into the software and are comfortable with it, then it's manageable.
