"Remote Access Wins, But Billing System Fails"
0.5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I really like not having to maintain a server anymore and that I can access Curve Dental from anywhere. It's also a relief not needing an IT department to constantly upgrade a server. Plus, I find it super convenient that whenever a patient calls, I can quickly access their chart. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

I find the invoice-based billing system awful compared to a ledger system. It's much harder to keep track of finances, making it easier for staff to alter records, which could lead to issues like embezzlement. It also makes it difficult for my front desk staff to adapt, and I feel like things are slipping through the cracks. The initial setup was very difficult. Getting images over still hasn't happened, documents didn't transfer well, and no perio charts came over. It's been a lot of work, and I even had to hire an extra person for the transfer. Response from Seth Foltz of Curve Dental

Thank you for your comments on how accessible Curve Dental is.

We understand that changing from a ledger system to a invoice system can be confusing. We have built into the system the option to lock the ledger on a specific date so that only those who have specific access can unlock that and edit any transactions in the past. This is controlled by a specific permission. We will shortly be releasing this feature as a dynamic date so that you do not have to manually update the date the ledger is locked.

I have contacted your account manager and your project manager to make sure to give you an update on your image conversion.

"Intuitive Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I appreciate Curve Dental's easy-to-use interface, making the software intuitive for new employees with simple, straightforward layouts that allow access to patient info in seconds. I also like how integrating Mango Voice with Curve Dental helps us see the patient's name and pull up their chart before answering the phone. Lastly, despite small areas for improvement, I think Curve Dental is the best option out there as it scores better than alternative software available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

The layout is clear but there are a few small tweaks that could make it more efficient for users: hot keys would be helpful, the ability to right click open in new tab, split view layout, etc. It was a process for our larger team to get onboarded and make a change. Curve did their best throughout the training but I do wish there was opportunity to customize initial onboarding and training more to each individual practice's needs. I would have greatly appreciated the opportunity to go through the training independently myself. Ultimately, not every practice will utilize Curve in the same exact way so the trainers may be experts on the software but they are not experts on how your practice will utilize it and often were not as creative in their solutions as I was. "Comprehensive Dental Management with Minor Mobile App Hurdles"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I find Curve Dental really helpful for managing patient records and scheduling appointments in our dental practice. I also use it for office communication through the chat feature, which has been very effective, allowing team members to communicate more specifically and reference past conversations easily. We use CurvePay for merchant services, and it's great for consolidating credit card processing with our management software, eliminating the need for third-party merchant services. Additionally, Curve Grow, the patient communication platform, has been very useful and effective for communicating with patients. The initial setup of Curve Dental was very easy, with data migration and integration done well, even though we had fewer patients back in 2012. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

I feel that the mobile app could be improved. The navigation of it is a little bit clunky and requires several steps to get to certain features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Amy Kitti of Curve Dental

Hi Thomas! Thank you so much for your positive review. We're so glad you've been able to eliminate third party processing with Curve Pay! We appreciate your partnership, and are happy to hear how Curve supports your team.

"Revolutionized Our Dental Practice Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

We moved to Curve Dental's Curve Hero for our dental practice management last year, and our workflow has improved significantly thanks to all the built-in features. Curve Hero is so user-friendly that even my non-tech-savvy coworkers picked it up quickly. I love how customizable it is, allowing us to make it look similar to our old software, so the transition was smooth without a big change. We can customize our schedule by color-coding, like making restorative appointments orange and matching notes, which makes finding specific notes much easier. The training and onboarding team at Curve was amazing, so helpful and patient with my 'resistant to change' team. Also, Curve offers an all-in-one system which MacPractice couldn't provide. What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

We had a problem with the team chat feature. On our Apple computers, it did not notify when a new message popped up. Also, the link to pay feature wasn't quite right. If a patient called in to make a payment or mailed in a check, they would continue to receive the message that they had a balance when, in fact, they did not. We just turned off that feature until it could be fine-tuned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Cloud-Based Solution with Room for Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I like that Curve Dental, as our practice management system, allows me to access charts from anywhere, which is especially handy for completing charting at home or accessing records during emergencies. The cloud capability also solves cyber security issues as we avoided a major cyber attack, allowing us to continue seeing patients with minimal disruption. I really like the Pearl AI feature for x-rays; it's a great second look and helps with diagnosis and patient education. Billing is easy, and the notes feature is overall good. The Rx templates work well, making everyday tasks run smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

Forms once converted to PDF do not have good formatting and look awful. The ability to format forms is very limited and difficult to use. Creating new forms is not user-friendly, and editing existing forms has limited ability. The files and letter functionality has also not been updated in years. Formatting for letters is limited and doesn't look very professional when converted into PDF. It would be nice to be able to attach images to letters and email directly from software instead of having to export. It would be nice to pull the full birth date and not just age into letters because referrals want DOB and not just age. Being able to better organize or categorize letters in the list on the left would be useful. It would be nice to designate forms be saved automatically in specified folders. "User-Friendly, Intuitive Design with Anywhere Access and Helpful Patient Education Tools"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

It is user friendly, and just makes sense. Less clicking and less "drop down" button to find things. I like how the side kick takes you directly to what i need. I like the look and the option to use color coding for appts. Love that we can access curve anywhere, home or office. Has good education tools and videos i can show my patients. It nice i can submit a ticket to IT for help of suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

In recent months it has been lagging, not refreshing. We have had our internet looked at and upgraded and it has sort of helped. It lasgs when we change the appt status. I also do not like once we check out the patient and send an eclaim once it is done processing it scrolls to the very top of the page and and not to the current transaction - so with a large family and mutipul invoices its time consuming Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Dental Workflow with Robust Features"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I use Curve Dental every day at work as my software platform. Curve helps me use reports to keep up with my workflow and simplify the way I interact with patients daily. My favorite part about Curve Dental is the insurance module, especially how you can put in frequencies and other important details. It makes treatment plans more accurate, helps patients say yes to treatment, and helps me prevent insurance errors with claims. The initial setup was very easy, and the go-lives were extremely helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

Curve community has been down for months and it would be really helpful to have a better resource guide. That is a big downfall of Curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Seth Foltz of Curve Dental

Camila, we are glad to let you know that our Support App is now available, we have finished moving all of the old Communitiy files there for easier access and ease of use.

"Effortless Portability and Integration, Worth the Switch"
5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I love using the Curve Dental mobile app because it gives me the portability of having access to information on my cell phone. In addition to that, I like Curve AI as it's a great training tool for our new employees. The software's portability is a game changer, allowing us to save time and money, which is excellent for our bottom line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

I do wish that the charting was easier. I would love for the AI to be able to read off the x-rays and photos to auto chart. That's a struggle for a clinician, but it would be beneficial if the entry had a tag on who entered it and how recent it is for any tx added to charts in the tx plans Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use, Perfect for Dental Charting"
4/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I use Curve Dental for dental software needs including charting, x-rays, and notes daily. What I like most about Curve Dental is that it is accessible online remotely, allowing me to check the schedule even from home. It's easy to use and figure out when you're new to the software, with features like easy note taking and helpful template options. I also appreciate the easy imaging software, which is fast for taking x-rays, showing patient images, and editing or deleting images. It makes it easy to upload previous x-rays and take I/O photos and PANs. The charting and code shortcuts, alongside easy-to-use notes and clear billing/insurance sections, add to its value. The initial setup was super easy, which definitely made a good first impression. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

I have some issues with Curve Dental. Curve Canada doesn't allow charting of supernumerary teeth, which can be limiting. There's no sticky note option in patient charts for highlighting important notes. Sometimes the completed codes don't refresh from the back to the front end computers, which can be annoying and confusing for reception checking pts out. If a visits codes aren't in scheduled, the appointment doesn't grey out when checked out, which is confusing and looks wrong end of day. Treatment plans and visits don't appear on the same page, making it tedious to manage. Also, it takes forever to drag treatment plans into the correct scheduled visit to check out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Chloe Loughmiller of Curve Dental

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your experience with Curve. We’re glad to hear that features like easy note-taking with spell check, fast X-ray imaging, and accessible online scheduling are helping support your workflow.

We also appreciate you pointing out areas where improvements could help, including charting supernumerary teeth, treatment plan and visit workflows, and code refresh. Feedback like this is incredibly helpful as our team continues improving the platform for dental practices.

If you’re open to it, our support team would be happy to connect and learn more about your experience so we can help address some of the issues you mentioned.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your insights.

"Streamlines Dental Practice with Efficiency"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Curve Dental?

I use Curve Dental to keep my patients' charts up to date, including all medical and dental info. It's really convenient because Curve Dental integrates billing and insurance, so I use it for everything. One of the best things is how it allows us to see everything at once without opening multiple tabs, which I find very useful. I appreciate how clean it looks; it shows a lot of information but doesn't look vintage like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. The recare tag feature is something I really like—it makes dragging appointments to where they're scheduled super easy, which saves time and in the dental industry, that's very helpful. Also, the initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Curve Dental?

I wish Curve Dental let you make a template for the main page for appointments so it is easier for front desk to schedule appointments at the right time. I would like to be able to color code the daily schedule like below the appointments so we can follow a schedule template to be more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Chloe Loughmiller of Curve Dental

It’s great to hear Curve has become your all-in-one system for charts, billing, insurance, and scheduling-- and that the clean layout and recare tools are helping your team stay efficient day to day. That kind of streamlined workflow is exactly what we aim for with Curve Dental.

On your feedback around scheduling templates and color-coding the daily view, this is something we may be able to help with through configuration and best-practice setup. We’d love to have someone from our team reach out to walk through your current workflow and see what options are available to better support your front desk process.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and suggestions, we really appreciate it.
