I reviewed a whole lot of these sorts of Slack "culture" apps and found CultureBot to be the most curated list of features that our team would actually care to use.

First off, CultureBot is all inside of Slack, which is barely the case with the other tools -- the other tools have both a slack app and web app where the web app is used to actually configure the tool and set it up. CultureBot setup is quick and easy because of this, if you know how to use Slack you can setup CultureBot in what is likely 5-10 mins tops.

CultureBot is also thoughtfully organized by "celebration" features (like birthday and work anniversaries), "engagement" features (like appreciation shoutouts and health tips) and lastly "team games" like trivia.

We have been surprised by just how positively CultureBot has affected our team engagement in a matter of days. We even had one employee mention that it "made his day" with one of the appreciation shoutouts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Culturebot is one of those rare apps that just manage to blow the competition out of the water. It's a one-stop app for all things culture. It allows for easy automation of birthdays, anniversaries and other culture related activities. It takes the pain out of manually creating Slack messages and automates them. Where other apps only focus on one specific activity, such as birthdays, CultureBot excels in addressing activities we didn't know we needed. Bein gable to create a random Trivia game or posting a fun water cooler topic has never been easier and has seen an increase in employee responses and engagement. For me, the Employee Lottery aspect is something I can't see myself using, but that might be different for others. I wish there was a limited free tier that gated other more premium aspects of the app, such as Health Tips and Water Cooler Topics but still allowed the ability to use the Birthday and Anniversary functions for free. The app has a lot going for it, and having a free tier could allow more companies to adopt it, and upgrade it later once the birthday/anniversary function has proven successful. I love that it connects people across different areas of the business. It allows our marketing team, CS team, and engineers to connect in ways they never would by just naturally scheduling meetings. The conversation starters are really helpful because they have questions i'd never think to ask, it really does help engage our team of ~20 engineers.

The automatic celebrations of birthdays and work anniversaries also takes a load off my shoulders, and makes sure that colleagues feel acknowledged, which is quite handy.

Overall a good suite of tools, the most premium tool for the money, half the price of Donut with more features than Donut + BirthdayBot. Very easy to setup - lives in Slack!

We use CultureBot to really engage and improve the culture for our fully remote team. Now that we’re growing rapidly, culture is really a huge focus for us. The bot took all of 5 minutes to setup, lives inside of Slack (so we don’t need to learn yet another piece of software — or keep track of it), and we started seeing value in it right away. More specifically we really enjoy the positive feedback shoutouts, conversation starters, and automated birthday celebrations. The support has also been excellent across the board.
