"The FP&A team had big wins within the first two weeks of implementation!"

What do you like best about Cube?

Being able to utilize both excel and sheets has been a great win for our team. Also the turnaround on reporting is much quicker with Cube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

It would be beneficial to have more reporting capabilities within the platform (i.e., dashboards and other visuals) that end users could access - view only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cube?

I love the flexibility of Cube. It functions like many of the big name multi dimensional tools. What I love the most is Cube's flexibility. Cube doesn't tell me how to manage my organization, rather it provides me the flexibility to manage our processes how we see fit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

There is not much I don't like about Cube. They are a young product that is continuously releasing new features. If there's something you don't like it's most likely being addressed on the roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cube?

Cube provides the opportunity to easily update complex reports without downloading reports from multiple instances of QBO and then cutting/pasting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

It integrates well with QBO, but if you change account names/structures, you'll need to update some items manually in Cube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good product for businesses operating their models on google sheets"
3/5
What do you like best about Cube?

The ability to connect to Google Sheets and quick run BVAs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

It takes awhile to resync data, and it does not provide modeling/analytics. Think of it as an API/Pivot Table Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Preston Lam of Cube

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. From what you've shared, it seems you may be just scratching the surface of Cube's capabilities. There is so much more that Cube can do beyond just automating your budgets vs. actuals process to help make your FP&A more efficient and effective. We have also begun to roll out early access to our enhanced dashboards allowing users to turn their data into configurable visualizations. It sounds like you may be interested in this as well. We'd love to connect with you and learn more about how you are currently using Cube and share some use cases you aren't taking advantage of yet. Feel free to reach out to me direct at preston.lam@cubesoftware.com.

Best,

Preston

"Cube let's you think out of the box"

What do you like best about Cube?

Ability to import data and use that data flexibly to create reports.

Additionally, refresh pre-existing reports in seconds rather than hours! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Manual importing by clicking a button, although I hear this is being automated soon Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great FP&A Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cube?

Overall an excellent product that is intuitive, simple to use, and agile. We needed the flexibility for FP&A and many of the enterprise tools have high barriers of entry and up-front configuration needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Integration into our ERP is a bit clunky as it needs file download and upload. Better integration would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One-stop shop for financial reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube's flexibility has allowed us to use it not only for the intended FP&A case, but also to streamline our SEC reporting process. Cube permits the user to retrieve data from different sources (in our case QuickBooks online and Google sheets), map it, and organize it in one place and finally push it into a spreadsheet environment that we are all familiar with and that we can use for many different purposes, like, in our case, SEC reporting. Customer success is also a big plus, any question we have gets responded to almost instantaneously by our rep through Slack. Finally, Cube has also an open API which makes it possible to connect to other data-wrangling software such as Alteryx. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

A couple of things: 1) it can feel a bit "blackboxie" in the sense that when accessing the web app, it's hard to see what information has already been input; and, 2) it currently doesn't have a way to restrict what users can access Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and Powerful"
5/5
What do you like best about Cube?

It's Simple. Cube takes in your KPIs and other data, and connects to your accounting systems. Then, connect to Sheets or Excel, create your output mapping, and now you have a single source of truth you can manipulate without worrying if someone is going to hard code a cell and throw off downstream calculations. Cube will allow you to give your department leaders the ability to create their own scenarios and forecasts, track their budget to actuals, and see their own P&Ls, all within a spreadsheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Cube is a newer platform, and as such, they're doing aggressive feature building. This means that some functionality has been impacted on occasion for a short period of time. Thankfully, their customer service teams are on top of the issues and able to support you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cube reduced our month and year end financial statements from a full day to under an hour"
5/5
What do you like best about Cube?

Being able to customize a report template, and "fetch" the data for different periods saves our accounting team so much time when we are closing a month/period.

I also love how seamless Cube integrates with Google Sheets. Our company exclusively uses Google products, and when we were shopping around, most similar solutions only used Excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

I don't like that Cube is a manual pull from NetSuite. We would love if it was a 2-way sync with live data.

This is a minor annoyance, but I wish if there wasn't data in the fetch, Cube would report a zero, and not leave the cell blank. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Preston Lam of Cube

Hi Rick,

I was going through our older reviews and noticed your feedback here. Such a joy to hear about the time savings and efficiency your team is seeing, I would love to connect to learn more about how things have been going.

As I am sure you are aware of by now, since your review, the connection from Netsuite is no longer manual, and we've released our "exclude zeros from fetch" feature. I've asked your Customer Success manager to follow up to confirm you are aware and taking advantage of these updates.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Preston,

"Great FP&A Tool - Helped streamline financial reporting and created efficiencies for our team"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube is great for many things like google sheet extensions, publishing to different scenarios, and customized roll-ups. It has drastically improved our team's ability to create automated reporting for deep-diving month-end variances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Cube is still developing functionality so it doesn't support things like suppressing zeroes so you can't build automated data dumps besides through the data exporter tool. In the forecasting model, it is very easy to publish to a one-off dimension and duplicate the values. Be careful to make sure you are always publishing to the same dimensions. Being able to roll one forecast into the next instead of republishing would be super helpful, which I don't think current exists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
