Multivendor is an easy to use software if you wish to start a marketplace of anykind. Buying Multivendor is a million times better than building one from ground up. After a thorough research for more than 3 months we were confident that Cs-cart Multivendor had the most features for the price compared to any of its competitors. The Customer service team was extremely helpful and you also get 90 days of premium support after your purchase the Multivendor Plus which is what we got. Another great thing is that you own your product and there are no monthly fees to keep your website running. What we dislike about Multi-vendor is the high yearly upgrade fee. Although it's optional and you can opt out of it but then you miss out on the new upgrades and features. If you have an in-house development team then you don't need to worry.

The CS-Cart multi-vendor option is a powerful and user-friendly cart software solution in which all good experiences from individual CS-Cart software editions are implemented. There are detailed manuals and video instructions, not only for beginners, a large forum and active community, developers, marketplace, and a good help desk. User-friendly administrators mode allows easy and fast training of vendors for independent work. It includes advanced SEO optimization, quick and easy installation of new add-ons, themes, and secure updates. Very easy to customize and maintain the shop. We use the basic CS-Cart Multi-Vendor edition. The speed problem needs to be optimized in this edition. More basic themes and more useful free add-ons are missing. The highest level of Multi-Vendor editions is unavailable for our team (it is too expensive for ours). Still, the basic level of Multi-Vendor software is the best buy. I also like that the code is open-source and can be completely changed based on your needs. You can also develop your own extensions without breaking the compatibility with future updates

The addons from the marketplace are often quite expensive and not always they completely suits your needs.

Documentation is not always complete, expecially if you need to manually work on database, where not all the fields are correctly explained. Anyway, the support team has been really kind and helped us promptly on all our questions, so that lack of documentation is something you can get rid of.

The backoffice section is quite complicated to use for a non technical user, so if you want a more user-friendly interface you should build your custom one, using cs-cart Apis.

Personally I don't like very much the fact that it is written in PHP, and for us it has been quite hard to make changes to the code base, but if you are very skilled in PHP that should not be an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One does not have to be an IT geek to set CS Cart. It is user friendly, has a lot of setting options, the manual is enough for the majority of the problems. We got answers to all our questions. There are a lot of addons provided. The add-ons are quite useful and they covered pretty much everything we needed. Translations are easy to use. Easy to insert your own addons. Hard to say... Probably a few features not addressed by CS Cart or by the add-ons. Notifications Popup is getting old. We needed an age verification feature since we sell alcohol and we were not quite satisfied with the one offered. Live translation from admin panel may come in handy but it is not offered. Orders process may a be a bit more elaborated, maybe split in a number of steps. Sometimes the export files misses data. The blog section needs improvement also. I like the fact that you purchase the license to use the application without paying expensive monthly charges. The second being that the system is built from the ground up and designed as an e-commerce shopping cart and marketplace, unlike existing shopping carts where you merely bolt on an addon to convert it to a marketplace. It is a very feature-rich system that does take time to learn the basics. I found the shipping setup to be daunting and complex. The Stripe Connect addon doesn't accommodate the Express version. Also, Afterpay and ZipPay payment options are needed today. I think the dashboard needs to be updated and made to look pretty. What I like the most about CS-Cart Multi-vendor that it has gathered a lot of the features that I needed for my marketplace compared to any other software I looked up and contacted. The ease of use for someone without much knowledge of coding was also a great advantage. CS Cart is extremely powerful, especially in the Multi-Vendor Edition. It offers the possibility of creating an internet marketplace. Multiple vendors operate on the same platform - amazing! The marketplace store owner is the "boss". He manages the vendors and can settle an individual commission rate with every vendor in accordance with the vendor plan agreed. We find this possibility of being able to map individual agreements with each vendor on the platform outstanding.

The admin panel (backend) is powerful, but a bit confusing in some places. It takes time to understand how things are interrelated. The admin panel is also below average in terms of looks. The possibility of using a theme in the backend would be great.
