"Comprehensive Market Data, But Pricey"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

I use Crunchbase for market analysis, focusing on gathering information on potential customers, clients, and competitors. It provides detailed data on companies, which aids in data collection and analysis, especially for investment metrics. I also like that our company profile on Crunchbase helps us gather data and put ourselves out there. My favorite feature is the ability to search for similar companies in the field even if I don't know their name. This feature is particularly helpful for competitor analysis and finding potential customers for our use case. Setting it up was easy, and I'd rate my likelihood to recommend Crunchbase a 9 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

I find the cost of Crunchbase to be a downside. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Lead Generation, But Needs Better Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

I like the volume of data and the numerous fields that Crunchbase offers. I use the data boost feature to get more firmographic information from companies, which helps me see details like web traffic and IT spending. This information allows me to tailor what my company provides to different segments of my subscribers, making some data more valuable to certain groups than others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

Some of the steps after I get that list of companies to look into are still more manual than I would like. I'm currently on a Crunchbase Pro subscription as opposed to a business plan, so I don't get access to things like their predictive scores. I also wish that I had easier access to or could more deeply integrate what data I get from Crunchbase to kick off my other workflows. Today, that's more of a manual export-import with CSVs and other things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Crunchbase has become my go-to business growth tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

Crunchbase has been incredibly easy to use and simple to get started with. I was able to set up and list all of my companies on the platform without any hassle. The interface is straightforward, which makes searching, filtering, and comparing companies a smooth experience even if you’re using it daily like I do. I use it frequently for research, outreach, and staying on top of industry updates, and the number of features (like advanced filters, custom alerts, and saved lists) really add value. It also integrates nicely with my workflow, so it never feels like an extra tool I have to manage, it just fits right in. The visibility and insights it provides have made a huge impact for my businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

Some of the data, especially for smaller or newer companies, can be a little behind and needs updating. While the customer support team has been responsive whenever I’ve reached out, I do think more proactive updates would improve the overall experience. The premium plan also feels a bit pricey for startups, though the ROI has been worth it in my case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Tool for Understanding Startup Environments"
4/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

I love using Crunchbase to get a comprehensive overview of companies, particularly their trajectory and growth metrics like the heat score and growth score over different timeframes such as one, two, five, or ten years. This feature provides a clear understanding of the business's progress and challenges over time. Additionally, I appreciate the detailed insights provided by the overview tab in the company profile, which displays the financial series or stage the company is in. It gives me a very clear picture of the company's funding history, including the timing, amounts, and types of funding raised. This information helps me gauge the maturity of the team and the product, aiding in making better recruitment decisions for my startup environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

I think Crunchbase could probably add in some details in that overview tab regarding head count, size, and scale. It's one thing to look at growth score and heat score, but I wanna know, like, how teams have scaled. For example, how many people are in engineering, customer success, HR, and operations at a company over time? What is the total growth of employees over time? That info would give me a sense of whether a company is thoughtfully scaling the size of the team to produce exponential impact in their work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the huge number of startups in the Crunchbase database. The initial setup of Crunchbase was very easy because it is intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

I don't like that Crunchbase doesn't show who is fundraising. Although I can see an overview of the market, it's not useful to me because I need to know who is fundraising. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deep platform for company intelligence along with AI-enabled recommendations and curated news"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

Incredible resource for background research and intel on companies and prospects, to fuel business development, and provide deep diligence on investment and partnership targets. Crunchbase is the ideal co-pilot for high-performing corporate development, partnerships, and business development teams. Great overview of pre-seed, Series A and beyond investments of private companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

It is important to evaluate additional resources such as Pitchbook and CB Insights, to discover the data and information that I am not able to readily access with Crunchbase. The information in the database is not always as comprehensive or recent as I would like it to be, and hence I need to access alternate sources to verify and/or supplement at times. "Abundant Startup Insights, but Limited Coverage Beyond Tech and Some Data Paywalls"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Crunchbase?

I like being able to search in natural language. I like the available, easy to read scoring metrics like growth and heat score. I also find the UI easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crunchbase?

Information is abundant for tech startups but lacking for other industries especially music and entertainment. Also don't like that there's data inaccessible even with the Pro solution. I think that is a cheap upselling tactic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
