## Crunchbase Reviews
  ### 1. A good platform to start building your own database.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay M. | Head of Customer Acquisition, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The platform in general is up to date with the data they have. The best point is that data is not restricted to one region but it is global. Their user interface is simple to use and is great.
The advanced search options that are available are phenomenal.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

At times when we search for a list of companies, sometimes data is not shown and it says that I need to get the pro version, (all this as I already have the pro version)

**Recommendations to others considering Crunchbase:**

Don't think twice. Go for it. It is worth every penny.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prospecting made easy.
Building of a database for outreach.
Good and reliable information

  ### 2. Essential research tool for Startup Marketing Agency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase is an incredible tool to research information on different trends in startup funding. While the individual startup information cards are useful, I particularly use the tool for aggregate data - such as answering "how many Europe Digital Health companies raised capital in the past 6 months".

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Dumb consistent issue: When I download lists in CSV format, there are always one or two companies where the data is not aligned correctly. When I work on the data in Excel, I always need to manually fix the CSV formatting issues to ensure the right data is in the right column.

**Recommendations to others considering Crunchbase:**

Go for it! Best bang for buck for startup/funding data.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work with Startups and companies that are launching new products. Crunchbase is the tool we use to understand the market that the Startup/customer is competing in and the universe of competitors, either direct or substitution.

  ### 3. helpful resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I love using Crunchbase to stay up to date on the latest trends in tech. I have used their data to understand large trends which helps me in my job at a tech company to understand the market space.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I wish CB had an easier way to get the details about acquisitions. I know sometimes the info isn't all available but it can be difficult to compare all the acquisitions that happened in a certain market.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the company level data from Crunchbase to stay informed about market trends, and then use that in my work to prioritize new product features and directions.

  ### 4. Great Directory for Sales Folks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It's an up-to-date directory of newly funded startups. For someone in outbound sales like myself, it's a great starting point to find a list of these companies. Once in contact, I continue to reference Crunchbase to make the prospect feel as if I have been following their funding journey very closely.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

While it is a great directory for salespeople, there are still a lot of upcharges Crunchbase has if you want to get company contact info. There are workarounds to finding contact info not through Crunchbase, but it's time consuming

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the problem of continually finding new prospects in their buying window. When companies get funded, they tend to celebrate with employee gifts which is great for me in the promotional productions industry.

  ### 5. "It's an all-rounder tool for startups, entrepreneurs, and investors.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

It's helping me to gather companies' information. That helps me to reach specific leads for the growth of my business.

  ### 6. Amazing database

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasileios K. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase updates on funding and the plethora of accounts you can access through the platform. I generated tons of sales with Crunchbase and their insights!!!!

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Nothing in particular. I was very satisfied with Crunchbase features and funcionalities.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me access interesting accounts and companies that are aligned with my company's targeting parameters for optimising sales outreach and ease communication

  ### 7. Crunchbase Great for List Building

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Super helpful in finding companies that for BDR and SDR outbound prospecting. The ability to use keyword search in company descriptions really helps dial in those you want to target!

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Avilable contacts in each company is limited would like to see more volume. We often do the company name research then go to another tool to get contacts...

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outbound prospecting research

  ### 8. I like this application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like this application because of all the access to company information. The information is so vast, that it includes companies of all sizes in all different industries, and is broken down into many different groups, and associations in order to find relevant connections.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

You only have so much access to the connections and their contact information, which is fine based on the price, but it would be great to have access to the company contacts and their direct contact information.

**Recommendations to others considering Crunchbase:**

Crunchbase is a great application and is a great budget-friendly alternative to some of the very expensive customer insight databases out there. Crunchbase provides market intelligence, sales information, and also company contacts and contact information for hiring managers and decision-makers. I would recommend this product to anyone in a sales capacity, particularly someone in a tech-oriented sales role.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase not only provides company information but also sets up its application towards automation to make things easier for the user base. I can narrow down my search efforts and focus on the customers and types of companies that I want to engage with rather than reaching out to any and all companies. This turns into a huge timesaver and also helps you further develop your niche, which is extremely important in the recruiting industry.

  ### 9. Great Resource

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase has the most expansive and accurate database for prospecting I have come across

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I wish it was easier to access the companies being added that fit my search criteria

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is difficult to find access to the many small up-and-coming businesses around the world, and Crunchbase puts them all in one easy-to-access point - It is a major time saver

  ### 10. A great tool to keep up to date with the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan C. | Head of Planning & Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Keeping up to date with funding rounds or big announcements for companies in and around our market with different lists is invaluable to me in my role looking after Planning & Strategy
The new Chrome plug-in is BRILLIANT

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Would love to push the news feed into a Teams channel so it integrates seamlessly into my way of working

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The feed of info would be almost impossible to deliver without it. Time saving + valuable insights about our market.

  ### 11. Easiest account building tool for selling to startups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

We focus our sales effort a lot on funded hypergrowth companies and for a while have been using other data tools to shortlist accounts but with Crunchbase we cut down our time by almost 80-90% as we could simply use the filters and move the accounts to our CRM.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Contact data is still being built up but you'd need to complement this with a contact data tool anyway. I think ti has more potential as a prospecting tool than a mini Bloomberg.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shortlisting target accounts for sales outreach. We have had more success with accounts shortlisted on CB and now only use it to build our lists instead of searching on Navigator, Data Tools, etc.

  ### 12. comprehensive and up to date

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

how comprehensive the level of data is surrounding lead search results and how it seemed to be the most up to date search engine i've come across in prospecting. i think the sidebar or extension feature could be a bit more intiutive, but again it seems to have the most accurate and up to date info. especially when searching for contact emails, crunchbase seemed to have more coverage and knew when a person had very recently switched companies or roles

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

the pricing model is expensive and confusing for an individual user so I wasn't ultimately sure what i was even paying for between credits and the pro level benefits. it would be nice if just lead generation was a bit simpler and definitely cheaper for the individual user. it's also confusing to have so many different levels because you ultimately don't know what you're signed up and what benefits you get out of each level.

**Recommendations to others considering Crunchbase:**

look at enterprise level pricing and go through the organization because it can be expensive as an individual and a little confusing. it's also a very involved product so the more time you put into it the more you will get out of it, but this can be challenging for sales when you don't have the time to invest in the product

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

finding accurate and comprehensive data and contact details in order to qualify prospective buyers and generate up to date lead lists. definitely helped me reach my prospecting goals. it's especially critical that the data be as up to date as possible and i've found crunchbase far superior in this area

  ### 13. Great information. Could use some improvement on end user experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

Great information and reliable source of information

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

User experience could use some improvement

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying growing companies

  ### 14. Good data quality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

- Overall good data quality on companies, funding and teams
- Email alerts are helpful to keep up to date on new company events

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

- Saved searches could be better, it's hard to use for 'power searchers'
- In a lot of cases it's easier to download the data and work with it in Excel vs. directly in Crunchbase

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Data on the overall landscape, research
- Lead gen

  ### 15. Competitive offering for great insights into funds and startups.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron V. | Sales Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Robust search offerings help you target the exact funds/startups you need to reach.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Pulling contacts is very manual company-by-company.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to reach a very specific segment of VC investors.

  ### 16. Great Data Source for Research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The filters and depth of data that it has when compared to tools like Sales Navigator.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

No real dislikes other than having to fragment searches to export more than 1k accounts at a time to then manipulate a data set.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying ideal companies/accounts for researching leads at.

  ### 17. Simple to use tool for startup funding research, categorization of companies is inaccurate though

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Simple to use tool for startup funding research, categorization of companies is inaccurate though

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple to use tool for startup funding research, categorization of companies is inaccurate though

  ### 18. My Initial Experience with Crunchbase

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos T. | Health Insurance Specialist (Accessibility), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

the inability to download necessary data without upgrading to a higher tier

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 19. Business Intelligence Report

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It's better quality than Linkedin in my opinion. You see the type of company, recent news, funding, company headquarter and accurate company size.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I wish it would allow you to do more research by different keywords

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us to do a in-depth research about our potential client

  ### 20. Great for finding VCs if you're a startup that is fundraising!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

- Huge amount of VCs that you can filter by headquarters and the countries they invested in. Super helpful for me as I'm a CEO of an early-stage startup.
- Super easy to use, very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

- You can't pay monthly, so for a small startup like us pay more than $500 dollars at once, without knowing if we will need to use the product for more than one month - during the fundraising period, is a lot
- They only let you see the first 1000 results with a pro account
- They send an enormous amount of marketing emails

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently raising an investment round and need a list of Venture Capital firms to send our pitch to. Crunchbase helped us be a lot faster and much more productive.

  ### 21. I find it quite useful.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavya M. | Automation Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Personalized account recommendations are something that I admire about crunchbase. Territory preference is another useful feature that adds a lot of value to my outreach.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Advanced search is difficult to use for beginners so maybe a user-friendly interface is something that can solve this. Notifying users about new features with a crisp demo on email can also add a lot of value.

**Recommendations to others considering Crunchbase:**

Set your goals at the start for what sort of information you want about a particular account.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to solve my outbound outreach activity as I work in sales and I need to research a lot about companies before I reach out. I've seen an improved reply rate in my emails when data is backed by Crunchbase info.

  ### 22. Must have data base

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roger D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It is about summarizing and easy to access relevant company data and updates.
Most helpful is to have one-clic related companies: this helps to dive into a given sector, segment, etc.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

It would be nice to have more curated content related to updates, relevant facts, etc.
As a database is perfect, but its content is not that relevant as a user, so I typically look at other sources.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to stay on top of startups' corporate info + VC/PE information.
It is beneficial to have a sharp vision of the portfolio of VC/PE.

  ### 23. Solid Source for Prospecting, Research & Company Trends

**Reviewed by:** Kevin L. | Founder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

The centralization of essential data points across financial, technology and more. I utulize tools such as Power BI, Databricks, etc to analyze the information.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Paywalls for additional services on top of the platform cost can be a bit tedious. Adding another service tier with more premium charting as a flat yearly rate would increase usage even further.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the tool for competitive research to understand mechanisms and technologies utilized and analyze who is funding our competitors and why to understand the lay of the land.

  ### 26. My review of Crunchbase
