## Crunchbase Reviews
  ### 1. Good for researching startups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heidi B. | Director of Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

You can quickly find out info about startups. What funding they've received, what the sell and more.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Contact info is not great. Hope they improve it. Also don't this it should be an upsell and they should include credits when you put Pro for a year. My mistake for not looking into it.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding info about smaller companies.

  ### 2. Solid source of data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

We use it for sales prospecting, and it gives unlimited data pulls across various industries, keywords, etc. for a reasonable price. Much cheaper than alternatives like ZoomInfo (though it lacks some of the contact data etc.).

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Data is imperfect and occasionally incomplete, but honestly better than one might expect. Sometimes the recency of the data is not perfect too. Still, a solid source.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to identify companies to target across different industries, keywords, etc. It's helpful for giving us maps of how the markets look. We've probably evaluated >10,000 accounts that were originally sourced from Crunchbase.

  ### 3. Crunchbase Revire

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It helps me easily find the best deals to what I need without having to manually search ecery single type of option that I think of so it saves me a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

It hasnt been updated and currently out of date. I cant seem to find a way to manage and delete contacts listed which is a bit of a headache. Data is also sometime either not complete or wrong.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to find business quickly and gather information but at the moment thinking of switching since the information hasnt been the best and data hasnt been updated so its not as good as it was before.

Crunchbase has taken my prospecting to the next level!

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Sometimes the data is a bit outdated. I get funding date days late.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to get information on newly funded companies and their contact info, so I can effectively prospect and pitch.

  ### 5. Best platform to check company profile

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek M. | Quality Analyst , Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2023

Smarrter & advance filter to search companies

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase is overpriced, especially for small businesses.

Crunchbase offers automated prospecting tools for businesses to streamline sales pipeline management.

  ### 6. Crunchbase is Great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** robert b. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Easy to find investors and brands that fit what we need that fit our categories. For consumer products and services, this is a great plaform. We are working on upgrading to better fit our current needs.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I haven't found much that I dislike. I do wish that the salesforce integration was available at the cheaper tier. We will probably need to upgrade to integrate fully with our other systems.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Crunchbase to find investors who invested in our brand clients. We then can find other brands they invest in to get easier access to these brands as potential new clients

  ### 7. Great tool for sales prospecting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloe T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

All the information I need is centralized (how the org makes money, funding, full time employee count, recent news / activity etc.) I love using Crunchbase because it helps me score the many accounts I have and get organized appropriately.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I haven't come across anything I dislike.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management and productivity. It has all the key information I need to help me prioritize accounts.

  ### 8. Great for competitor sourcing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Love how you can easily find competitors from companies depending on their industry and product focus. I love how easily you can find different lists on different company types that are pre-built.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Sometimes it doesn't provide direct competitor information. Would be great if it was a bit more user-friendly when creating lists and saving searches, as sometimes these don't always run.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me source a company's competitors and gain a better understanding of the industry as a whole. Gives me a really good profile of each company with detailed information!

  ### 9. Great, accurate and exhaustive data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishi V. | Head of Product & GTM Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

There's information on crunchbase that is not usually available on other platforms (eg: linkedin, zoominfo). I love the fact that it is easy to bulk-export the data into excel.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Given how exhaustive and easy to access the data is, it will be more helpful if some numbers can be made more accurate and up-to-date. For example - the estimate revenue range is quite off for customers. This can drastically impact how organizations segment their customers or prospects.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase is helping get all information of organizations in one spot - their funding, revenue range, active hiring status, number of employees etc. This is helping me bulk download data and better segment our prospects and customers.

  ### 10. Underwhelming on several fronts

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The query builder is an effective way to define the company criteria you want to find. The UI of this is solid.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

1,000 company download limit, the list upload functionality seems to break every other week.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Crunchbase to identify target accounts for clients.

  ### 11. Crunchbase review

**Reviewed by:** MUJAHIR A. | Data Science Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Detailed ideas about public and private companies can be made even before joining them pay scale transparency, work culture and many more.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Some information may be misleading, proper authentication should also be incorporated.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives information about private and public companies, so a candidate holding an offer beforehand can decide whether or not to join the company.

  ### 16. accurate intel on the business and how it's doing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan M. | Field Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like understanding where the organizations are focused, where they are spending money or what their initiatives are. There are great insights into the inner workings of the company (i.e. Layoffs, new hires in executive leadership, investments). You also have granular information on things like monthly website visits which is especially helpful for me in my job.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

There isn't anything I dislike about Crunchbase, to be honest.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving me insight into my accounts as a sales person that I would not otherwise have. I am more productive and have access to information regarding companies that I can leverage in my sales motion and targeted outreach to my customers.

  ### 17. Great experience & amazing insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebeca R. | Head of SDR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It makes our outreach super easier, great to filter companies that match our ICP and also amazing integrations that make the process faster and simple! Been using for a while now and can't complain

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The only negative thing is that they didn't have an integration with Hubspot, but now it's live and works correctly.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to build outbound lead lists for my team. It's good because it brings me nice companies and leads that could be a potential client for us

  ### 18. Crunchbase is a users dream

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake H. | The Sales Guy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The most helpful thing about crunchbase and think I like best is its ease of use. My team hardly ask me questions about 'how do I do this' on Crunchbase because of its impressive usability. Thanks Crunchbase!

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

To be fair the one thing that isn't ideal about Crunchbase is the size of its database. It's fantastic for funded companies but maybe lacking in depth with 'normal' (bootstrapped) companies.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that Crunchbase is solving for me is that it allows me to have one place to keep tabs on the latest developments in the tech funding scene. I can stay ahead of the crowd with their insights!

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

It is more difficult to target start-ups that are just about to fundraise.

Finding the right kind of investors for start-ups

  ### 27. Perfect tool for Sales Discovery

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Really useful for identifying prospects.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

It's expensive, and the information isn't always up to date.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying companies that fit a certain profile or persona (size, location, number of employees, industry). It does make me more productive, just having a central database of all that information is very helpful.

  ### 28. Extensive data, presented simply.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ollie W. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Two major things:

1. Filtering by funding stage and location helps find the right-sized companies to target for talent in South East Asia.

2. Understanding who has backed target companies helps indicate which companies are likely to be better quality targets.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The people section for companies seems incomplete. It would be useful if all companies had the profiles of their senior management or at least the founders. Sometimes it seems random employees have been added.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase is helping identify the right companies to target for headhunt candidates for my other early-stage companies or the VCs I'm working with in South East Asia.

  ### 29. Time Saving Quality Database

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The search engine and query filters are the best

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Sometimes I have witnessed that the LinkedIn Profile of investors is not their profile but a similar one

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems Solved:

1. Finding Quality Investors
2. Finding Quality Businesses
3. Lead Generation

  ### 30. Very helpful for sales

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding investors and sales prospects

  ### 31. Great Tool for Start-Up Contacts

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Contact information for start-up companies

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Limited view of contacts per month, and don't always have contact information.

Helping me identify contact information at start-ups

  ### 32. Amazing way to connect with your target

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emiliano B. | Chief Marketing Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

At Crunchbase you can find your potential clients, in a simple way, through filters defined by your objectives. Also, you can reach some investors that have been working with your clients.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Maybe it would be better for user experience to access to contact information but without limit. I understand that CB needs to upgrade average tickets revenue, but 20 leads is very poor.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase connect you with the startups in the moment that you define best for your company. It allows you to be faster in the construction of networking and ecosystems.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 34. Fantastic; Accurate; Great Team and a Very Solid Tool for B2B Prospecting--an Invaluable Resource."

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajat K. | Founder and CMO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Prospecting without Crunchbase data = running without shoes in a marathon. I always pre-qualify from Crunchbase and I can trust the data on there, unlike Apollo and Seamless.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I really have no complaints. They improve the extensions, add-ons, and database so often that I don't even need to even consider an alternative. However, it would be PERFECT if we could see how the data points, like employee counts, are growing/changing.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily filter prospects and exclude those that might not be a good fit for my outreach strategy.  I can use Crunchbase filters to build a healthier pipeline and save them as lists so I only do the work once!

  ### 35. Useful database for prospecting tech and tech-enabled companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Good origination tool. One can find target and peer group companies fast with a useful amount of information.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The layout is a bit busy with too many colours
Info is no easy for home office printing due to layout/ info across different tiles
Use some algo/intel to ONLY display info that the user most often views

Financial and headcount info is not always accurate (they should better triangulate with companies house/ statutory info)
CB ranking methodology is not always clear

Linked In names are not always those of top-level management
Not an easy access space to put down user-level notes on target companies

Hard to search companies by description
Peer group companies are sometimes woefully inaccurate

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding the companies that I want to invest in

From the product perspective Crunchbase doesn't have holes really, I do wish some of its features weren't hidden behind a paywall.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase lets me get further insight into specific companies. Personally, it lets me find out about competing companies as well which is helpful.

  ### 39. Great for getting data on companies

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Seeing funding history and M&A data is something that I use regularly.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Sometimes the data isn't always accurate or that some acquisitions aren't listed.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Research on companies prior to engaging with them.

  ### 40. Best tool for market research

**Reviewed by:** Aniket P. | Leads Generation Manager | Remote, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Give great insights that help craft an account-based marketing strategy. It provides meaningful insights like funding rounds, annual revenue, the latest news, major investors, and so on.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Some companies are not listed on the platform so need to utilize other resources as well to insure that we're not missing any potential companies.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase provides critical information about companies and market situations that helps identify potential companies to reach out for maximum output from marketing efforts.

  ### 42. Crunchbase is a BD team's best tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** GLen M. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase is incredibly versatile - whether your BD team is trying to zero in on companies by industry, news articles, geography, funding, etc... all of the data is there. Some of our hottest opportunities are sent right to my inbox with my saved search updates. It's not limited to company data either... it even has contacts.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The one thing I really wish you could do is search companies that have locations in two places, or 3. For example: Companies that have locations in San Francisco AND Paris.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing hot leads every week with funding information, which is a huge indicator of companies that are hot targets for us. We've uncovered several multi-million opportunities with the data collected.

  ### 43. One of the best in the business - critical for sales teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase makes it easy to take information out of your existing system to get deeper insights into your clients. This helps our team a lot because we can have more relevant conversations with the people we speak with.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Not many complaints. Some functionality improvements for the CSV import would be appreciated for truly accurate data. For instance, sometimes CB will only pick up on 60/65 accounts - it would be nice to manually add the other 5 before creating the finalized CB list.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me gain better insights into my clients, their funding, and their website visits. It helps me understand their business so that I can ask more relevant and pointed questions

  ### 44. Concise and timely information on targets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn K. | Director Of Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Easy to use, useful information. Filters are effective

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Contact information may be out of date. Suggest contact info is scrubbed more often.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying prospects

  ### 45. Good for market research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Helps to find the data of the contacts and the other info required about the target companies or the competitors

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Pricing can be a bit reasonable atleast for startup kind of companies

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find the contacts of the target prospects and also info regarding their companies

  ### 46. Love it!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase for sales reps is great, as it provides all the neccesary info one needs to get a solid background on companies before and while talking to prospects.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I don't have anything negative to say. It's a great site.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of researching in several different places, or clicking a bunch of times in LI to find all of the research you're looking for on a company, Crunchbase has it all in one view.

  ### 47. Good for individual research, hard to do in bulk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Red H. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Information is presented succinctly and quickly. I like how there's not just funding information but also more info across the account like their location and contact info.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

i have a lot of accounts and id love to be able to upload all of my accounts, match them to a CB account and get a bulk download of the data then maybe even automated alerts when the companies funding info changes.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase gives me funding information on my target accounts which is vital for determining if that prospect has the funding to purchase the product i sell. Crunchbase also gives me some quick info about the account, which helps massively

  ### 48. Perfect tool for a b2b company with a niche and concentrated ICP that fits the CB ranking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik M. | Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Perfect tool for a b2b company to find ICP companies in sales, because we have a niche and concentrated ICP that fits the CB ranking (SaaS companies etc.) - we can easily and quickly find a high percentage of ICP companies that is not possible or works really poorly in other databases.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The tooling for handling the data is not great. For example, you cannot select more than 1000 rows in a search/list. I think there is an upper plan in which you can tho, not sure, and that's why I dislike this anyway because its very unclear on how to upgrade to that to get that feature (if it actually exists).

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding ICP companies to target in sales. It's helping us a lot because we have a concentrated/niche ICP that is hard to narrow down to in other tools and find such good data that CB has.

  ### 49. Crunchbase Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase helps users know about the total funding of a company. It helps us to know when the company was established and how many people are working at that company.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

There is no dislike I found till now in the company.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase provides us the solution about a company, its funding, its founding member, and new funding of that company.

  ### 50. Extremely helpful if you work in the startup realm

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon T. | Alternative Protein Consultant , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I loe how accessible Crunchbase makes information that is otherwise opaque, like how many investors a company has and how many rounds they've raised to get to their total amount.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I'd like more information on pre money valuation and more refined revenue data.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me understand the latest developments in alt protein funding, who the most active players are, and what trends to watch for.
